We brought our two fur babies to play in dog park. Wish the seating area had better seating. One plastic chair and a wooden picnic table that had seen better days. As we live a distance away I'm not sure how much this part of the park gets used. The playground is very nice with picnic tables etc. Good for groups/ large families.

I'm from out of town I was wanting a place to let my dog run,fenced in and that they do have that. It could be really nice the grass was halfway up to my knee, make a long story short it's not the best kept park I've been to It can be really really nice for your four-legged friends if they keep up the maintenance.I I visited on a Saturday morning, and there was still leftover people from Friday night. Absolutely not a place to let your kids run and play!!!!! Despite the nice kids playground!! ******Edit/update on 8/2021. Made another visit this time on a Saturday morning what a big difference, Grass was very well maintained and there was no questionable people around which made for very nice morning with my dogs. I knew this park could be as good as it was today WTG 👍👍 and thanks!!!!! Roanoke County

I stopped here with my two toddlers. There was a questionable man hanging out by the bathrooms with a long handcuff chain attached to his wrist. I heard and saw the chain jingle when he got up to go in the bathrooms. There were also cigarette butts and pizza crusts under the playground where someone had been hanging out very recently. I do not recommend coming here!

It was ok. Nicer and more friendly than highlands Park dog run but the people were more interesting than the dogs.Dog-friendliness: The dogs were pretty socialible and friendly.Picnic area: Picnic area was ok. Seemed to have regulars that drank and vaped Marijuana.

There's a nice shade area to sit that's it. This place is never cut. Last year and this yr multiple visits hoping for a change and it's never cut. Due to that 4 days ago my daughter wanted to take her doggy there because it's close by. As I am carefully making my way through the high grass and poop I step into a hidden foot-deep hole and sprain my ankle. Thank goodness my daughter was there to help me to the truck. Not worth the risk of injury. My ankle is still swollen.

Real quite park. Huge fenced in areas for large and small dogs. Fully grassed area not a lot of holes or mud. People are really respectful about waiting their turn to use the dog fields and communicating space for them. If you've got one that's a lil excitable around a lot of people and other dogs this place is your best bet

No where for the "pet parents" to sit, gates do not latch well, and the grass is bare. Came home muddy, but my dog was tired. The watering area was nice for my dog.

Dog park review: Nice big area for both large and small dogs, which is why we went, but unfortunately it was so muddy and not really kept well so we won't be going back for the dog park anytime soon. Maybe if the grass came back or they laid wood chips. Other than that not a bad park. Lots of space a playground. Run of the mill set up

Great dog park! With two separate areas, one for small dogs and one huge one. Also a water fountain if you bring your own water bowl you can fill it

The grass is always well kept. Good friendly people with well behaved dogs.I simply love everything about Thraser's doggie park.

Nice place to chat with people for a bit, but could do with some improvements. The tables and benches need to be replaced as well as the little hut they are in. The road around the area is too narrow and has way too many potholes. The land itself is fine but yeah needs some work. Good place to hike.

This park is greener, bigger than Highland Park. The only problem is that the water bowl that I left for the pets at the park x3, kept disappearing! Why?Oh.. Another problem is parking is a bit too far from the park. I wish the turned that tennis court to parking lot!More bench, chair for senior owners would be nice!

Great dog park. Water is available for the doggies... As well as baggies for picking up the mess. Two gates so pets don't escape as you enter or leave. Also a smaller fenced in area for little dogs. Great park.

Great covered picnic area. I had a going away party with friwnds there at 14, my baby shower there 28 years ago, and went on a date there last weekend for a picnic. Simple but pretty with a small play area for young kids and a dog park. Nice little park.

Quiet, nice place to take your pup. Would give 5 stars but only 1 of 3 water fountains work at the dog park and that one doesn't work very well. Otherwise a nice dog park. I can't speak about the rest of the park.

Dog park. Horrible and disgusting. Unmowed tall grass with piles of dog poop everywhere. Which stinks because it could be awesome. I will never take my dog there again. There are fenced areas for large and small dogs but both areas are unkempt. There is no shade and only one ratty picnic table to sit. Nope.

Dog Park: I haven't visited the other half of the park. We've only been to the dog park side.I love that there is lush grass there. The other dog park in Roanoke is 98% gravel/dirt and there's just a tiny strip of trampled grass.This park is much different. It's quiet and peaceful.There are 2 big shade trees and a water fountain with two faucets up high for humans, and one that's lower to the ground for pets to drink from.It also offers bags for your pet's defecation, so you don't need to bring your own.There are 2 enclosed areas, one for small dogs and one for larger pets.An awesome dog park.

I understand the weather and COVID have an impact on maintenence of outdoor areas that are lower priority, but wasn't overly thrilled with the grass length + tick warnings I've gotten as being new to the area from the AZ desert. Seems like a great big space for dogs, but could be mowed and I'd enjoy taking my dog there again. Perhaps it will be in a short bit.

Was very nice out today so I took my doggie over to the dog park. There were a couple dogs out and the owners were friendly. The grass needs mowing but overall it's a well maintained little park.

Definitely not the playground to take your kids to. At noon on a Saturday there was a broken glass bottle in the unmowed grass, and a steady stream of adults in and out after meeting up for a few minutes in the parking lot.

Couple of holes in the yard that could potentially cause problems (injuries) and was due for a mow, otherwise it was clean, flat and a good size play yard for both large and small dogs. Our dog even enjoyed the water fountain upon leaving the park.

I have been playing basketball there for for over 30 yrs. Now I take my kids there to play basketball and on occasion cookout for bday parties. Great playground area and swings, Tennis Courts, and great place to take dogs for a walk(there is even a fenced in area for dogs to ruin and play
