The local employees here are knowledgeable and eager. The corporate side lacks somewhat in terms of rules of engagement, face to face customer service but that's because it's a giant corp. and pretty much the norm these days. Overall this place can't be beaten on new products.

I went in this afternoon looking to buy my first revolver. I've researched it for weeks and sportsman's warehouse always has the one I want in stock. At least in most locations. The guy behind the firearm counter asked if he could help me and when I told him my price range ($500 or less), he said everything he had was right on the line of my budget. So that's fine. Then he wouldn't elaborate as to whether or not they had my desired gun in stock or not. Or even tell me about the ones that were also in my price range. Kind of just left me standing there trying to read price tags from 10ft away. Maybe the other sales guys are better, I don't know. But completely unhelpful is how I'd describe my visit there today.

ordered something online that said it would be ready for pickup that day. never got an email saying it’s ready that day like that said. called and they said to check the next day at midday. did that and was just told to wait on an email again with no status update. yall shouldn’t lie on your website and say it’s going to be ready for pickup day of if it’s not going to be and then continue to be vague and unhelpful. not to mention it prompts me to check my order status with a link sent to my email but doesn’t even show me the status of my order. it prompts me to create an account to see it, which I did, and it still does not show me the status of the order. Instead I get sent all of their dumb promotions to my email when I’m just trying to pick up something I paid $500 for and it’s not even ready on time or anytime close! not ordering from here again, and I would advise the same to anyone who reads this.

I come here occasionally to check out the ammo and other firearm accessories. There are always items on clearance that are tempting! And are honestly the best shop I've found in the ROA area for ammo.

This was my first time in sportsman's warehouse, and I was amazed at all the items and the variety that was in the store. I went into look at a .22 pistol, and the gentleman at the counter was very helpful. He was very informative and helped me through the process of getting approved to purchase the pistol. I will go again as I was quite impressed with Sportsman's warehouse.

This place is laid out nicely, and it is clean. I've been in several times for various items and have been able to find them every time.I also appreciate, and frequent businesses that offer a military discount. It's a perk I spent 20 years years earning, and I will shop where I am appreciated.

My experiences at this store are typically pretty poor. I spend a lot of money here on items but it’s almost always a very mediocre experience. Online ordering for pickup store is almost always severely delayed when the website says the items are in stock. Staff outside of the gun counter are rarely up to snuff on their policies. I recently went in and asked for a price match for a set of electronic earmuffs with Amazon. The answer was no because it was “on sale”. I’m attaching the price match policy. I didn’t force the issue because it wasn’t worth it. It saddens me that my experiences at this store are so bad yet every other Sportsman’s is amazing.

ordered a shotgun and picked it up in this store, when it arrived at the store I was given the option to schedule a time for pickup which i did just to see how that would go. The layout of store was spacious and I did not wait long to speak to someone in the gun section to pick the shotgun up after arriving on time. Will definitely consider using sportsman's warehouse again.

The Lynchburg store had no customer service and their selection is bare. The Roanoke store has staff that say hello when you walk in and ask if you need anything and they have a great selection of everything. I love the Roanoke store. Lynchburg store is going to flop.

The check out lady refused my husbends gift card to this store Saturday, she was uncaring and just not helpfull about how it didnt work and my husband had to use his debit card. We called from the parking lot and the card was active with an avaliable balance. This lady probably needs to be moved to a non customer facing job in the store. Just not a good attitude for customer service and an issue that probably could have been easly resolved

I brought my bow in to be tuned, and some other issues with it fixed, and Jonathan working in the bow shop did not hesitate to help and was amazing!! He fixed everything up for me, helped me tune it, cut arrows, and was super kind and helpful all around. He really boosted my confidence in my bow for hunting, and I am shooting quarter sized dots with it after sighting it back in around 20 minutes. Super excited to hit the woods!

Lots of nifty items to check out. Prices are a little ridiculous for pretty much everything. I know its a business that had to make a profit but it's honestly insane how much they charge. Especially when the same merchandise can be found within 10 minutes at another store anyway

So where do I start? They don't answer the phone, they don't ask you if you need help when in the store. The customer service is just bad. The managers are lazy except the old man and the camping manager. The Lynchburg store is much better store, employees and all.

Don't use this store!I had already added my review below, but it was deleted.So I'm adding it again.I traveled one hour there just to get a stun gun they had advertised as 'in stock'. I needed this to protect myself at night while at work. I didn't see any out, and when I asked someone about it, I was told that they had come in on shipment the previous day. I politely asked if someone could go get one as I was definitely going to purchase one, and I was told NO.

A nice stocked store, but has issues.1. Purchased a blue enamel coffee cup, shelf shows 5.95, charged 8.95 does nothing about it.2. Asked to register phone number to receive discounts, gives me a barcode to go home and register on web site to get discounts, follow that, receive 10% discount in email, email states enter code at checkout, decide this would be good with something I wanted to purchase so go back next day and get it; at checkout get told. Oh I’m sorry you can’t use that in the store, you could buy online and pickup, but that will take an hour or more for the order to process. Really just not an overall good experience.

Don’t depend on website for availability! Checked the website for an item and it said it was in stock in Roanoke. Drove there and they did not have the item at all. Said that the website reflects any store. Be careful. Wasted my time.

Went to pick up a particular taser for self-protection that showed online that it was in stock (the whole reason why I drove that far to get it). So, I asked an associate where I could find them. I was told that they had arrived yesterday on a delivery truck but had not been put out yet. I politely asked if there was someone who could get me one since I definitely am going to purchase it. I was told a flat 'NO'.

I purchased a $700 firearm that is totally unsatisfactory! The front sight is not centered. I took it back to store because they said that they could adjust the front sight. They tried to make me believe they had moved the sight when actually they did not move it any. In fact they don't even know what they are doing at all. Smith and wesson told me that the front sight isn't even adjustable! So sportsman warehouse did something to it that shouldn't have been done to begin with. They are incompetent and not too be trusted to sell furearms. They definitely can't be trusted to service them! And of course they won't replace the visibly inaccurate gun they sold me. Instead they ruined it even more because they don't know what they are doing!

Second day in a row with no one working the registers. Today there were nine customers in line ahead of me. All of the purchases were done at customer service, only one person working there. There are two many other places to buy guns & ammo. I'm done with Sportsmans & 20 minute waits to spend my money.
