I love this pet smart. Especially when the cashier Wendy is there. She is so sweet and always so welcoming. She loves to see my three girls and asks about them every time I come into the store. When I visit the store and she isn't there the others don't seem as welcoming. She always greets me and others with a smile and welcomes everyone to Pet Smart.

Recently my family had a sad experience with our leopard gecko who ended up having a birth defect. That being said, the reptile expert employee named Daniel made our situation more manageable with his knowledge, friendliness and eagerness to help. We are very appreciative of him!

I went to this location yesterday and was told every reason under the sun to as of why they couldn't sell me any type of fish then was told that they don't do animal purchases after a certain time so I had to tell my child who is 4 he couldn't get any type of pet and it was heart breaking I've never had any petsmart give me the reasons and excuses that this one did yesterday to as of why I couldn't purchase anything like they even told me to go to petco instead it was true laziness... I will NEVER go there again I wish I could give zero stars instead of 1 because after breaking a kids heart and not caring that they did made it much worse. The laziness was ridiculous... they need new employees...

Clean, plenty of room to move around in the aisles. Lots of products to choose from for you animals. Not a lot of floor help, to ask questions about products for your pet.Check out was great, friendly, not a long wait in line . . . and there were actually workers at the check out. No Self Check Out!

Do not trust these groomers with your Animals very unprofessional and judgemental people. I would not recommend and will not be returning. Brought in a rescue who needed flea and tick bath and hair cut because of matting.. They refused to cut his hair and also gave every other dog a bandanna besides mine who they seemed to not like... poor Rex 😞 And on top of that still payed about $100.. Also Rex still smelled the same were he had been neglected and abused his entire life. I wouldn't trust these people with a Goldfish. Look at how all there so called "habitats" are set up. Very Sad..

They have a larger selection than their local competition; however, during my visit today I noticed many dead betta fish. Some were dead long enough to start to mold over.

Manager is a rude know it all. She did not know if I was upsizing my purchase as the fish grew or not. Refusing my business loses a good customer for life at this location. Maybe she should take her knowledge and scoop out the dead fish from the tanks. That is even worse for the fish. Oh yeah, if your description tags are outdated why don't you replace them?

It's a really mixed experience on customer service. Most people are super friendly and eager to help. There are some employees there that are just unhelpful and not very friendly or informative. They will just tell you where something is and point instead of taking your to what your looking for. I frequent the valley view location and the store is usually rather clean. Stock can be rather low on cat supplies such as bowl choices and collar choices. Great selection of food for both dogs and cats. I recently adopted an 8 month old Orange tabby cat. He has a great personality and was up to date on shots. He was neutered and microchipped. Overall in the big picture I'm happy with most all of my visits. No store is perfect and I don't expect that. However great customer service goes a long way. I like having the warm and fuzzy feeling when I visit brick and mortar stores and prefer the interaction over online shopping. There are some things this store can improve on but I would say that's true for most retail.

Went there with my sister and her critter (1 1/2 yo rescue dog). It was his first time going shopping! The sights, the smells, and the incredibly helpful staff made "Buddy's" first outing a smashing success! Considering the clientele, the store was amazingly clean. If you need anything critter related, more than likely they stock it.~mykl

Some of the staff can be a little on the ride side especially when tasked with getting live crickets. Also, they will give you dead crickets with your live ones that count towards what you get charged for

Quality service at a pet store that has everything! Went in to get my dog groomed/Shaved and although it took 4 1/2 hours,(she weights 115lbs)they did a great job. Easier to get an appointment here than the other Pet smart in Roanoke also.

Absolute worst place to have your dog groomed. They do nothing, then argue with the customer and still charge $94. Take your business elsewhere! I'm sharing the pictures of before and after "haircuts" see if you can figure out which one is which. 🤨

We went to see the tank in person after seeing it online. Denise answered all of our questions and even gave us some helpful advice on how to maintain the tank and which filter and heater would be better for it. She even went on to show us the right chemicals to purchase that would help the fish to adapt to their new home. So far the fish are adapting well and we have gotten more fish. Very pleased with how the whole buying process turned out. Thank you so much. We love our tank!!!

A great place to go for your pets. They hve training for dogs and a place to vet your pets groomed. All type of food, bed, housing and assecaries for your pets. They have fish and cats for purchase in store. Decent prices on most stuff and very friendly and helpful staff. When adopting an animal there is as n as application to fill out and sometime awaiting period before you can adopt.

I go here mainly for Banfield for my little guy. The store prices are quite high unless you buy on sale items. Some things I haven't been able to find here and order on line. Nice people, helpful. Love seeing the kitties they have for adoption. I don't like the grooming salon though. Paid for a full groom, was supposed to get coupons for future discounts, special bandana, which was small compared to the fact they didn't do hisanalysis, or trim his nails & teeth.

We was there trying buy a birthday gift for my son and they told us we needed a 10 gallon tank then the other girl told us we needed a 20 gallon for fancy leopard gekco and she said that she couldn't sell us if we didn't upgrade to bigger tank. But look how they treat there animals in small places and don't have the right lighting. Very rude and won't be back

So yesterday I came here and bought CBD edibles for my dog. When I got home the package was already open. Today I went to return it and had to pay more money?!.. I don't understand why if I'm returning a bad product in exchange for the same product I have to pay money for it!? It was only $4.30 that I had to pay but I don't think I should have had to pay anything at all considering they sold me a used product. Bad policy in my opinion.

Went to buy my daughter a guinea pig, she was extremely excited about getting one. We went in and told a worker and he got a box and opened the cage and was showing my daughter the guinea pig, then asks us if we had one already or were going to buy two, we said no. He then puts the guinea pig back in the cage and locks it and says he wouldn't advise just getting one. Growing up I and many people I've known owned a singular guinea pig and they were fine. If you don't sell singular guinea pigs, why do you sell habitats that are sized for just one??? After my daughters teary eyed expression I was pressured into buying a new cage and two guinea pigs and all of the equipment associated. I asked another pet store right after if that was a common policy in pet stores and they said 'no, that sounds weird'. I called today to file a complaint and was told that is a new policy and then was hung up on. It was a very rude way of doing it and honestly a stupid rule.

Took my Neopolitan Mastiff in today for some socializing. Everyone was nice and helped to greet him with a friendly new face!! We got a new toy and treats that he looks forward to enjoying!
