We brought our cockapoo and golden retriever to get groomed. The service is absolutely phenomenal both of our fur babies were happy when we picked them up and looked amazing, I know they were very well taken care off. I would recommend there store for all your pet needs. 100% amazing job. The entire grooming department treats my fur babies just like their own. Very appreciative of their dedication to our pets

We walked in and went straight to the bathrooms and then as I come out we get basically verbally attacked by two employees stating bathrooms are for employees only well this is a damn first all the times I have shopped at this location they been open to customers. Basically they accusing us of stealing when we didn't even touch a damn thing on the shelves. Won't be getting my money today or any other day after that. And to think I was about to get a least 200 dollars worth of stuff for my furbabies. Forget this place after getting accused of something I have never done in my life just for using a bathroom first before making a purchase.

I just want to say that this store is awful. The very unpleasant manager, Star, would not honor the POSTED SIGN on leashes, harnesses, and collars, buy one get one 50 percent off. We were about to spend 500 dollars on two dogs, and the manager was the worst; she even called the manager, Matt, at the Towers store and verified the sign is still up. The crew was all on their phones and were more worried about their messed up paychecks. They wouldn't even check us out because of the paycheck situation. I highly recommend going literally anywhere else. Thanks, Star, you're the best.

Went in to buy some fish. Waited about 10 minutes. Nobody came over to help me and I walked away then was told by a associate they were closing at 6:00. I said well I wanted to buy some fish but nobody ever came over. The gentleman said which fish did you want? Told him change my mind because there was so many dead ones in each tank.

Looking to find a few select items for my aquariums. The aquatics department person was great. He was informative and was very careful in handling the fish I selected. He also helped me with plants for my tank. I enjoyed shopping at Petco today.I never shop at PetSmart at Valley View, they are always rude and unhelpful.I just wish Petco would stock more varieties of fish.

Last week on 3/16 the day of my dog Luna's appointment I recieved a text saying her appt was cancelled. I did not cancel it so I called to find out what was going on. I was told that they lost the groomer That was supposed to groom her. They said that they could reschedule for today 3/24 which I told them was fine but I also had my other dog Koda scheduled for that day. They said that it was no issue they would guarantee that they would get both dogs in 3/24 since they have extended their grooming hours to 6pm, and that they would give me 20% off both of them for the inconvenience. I said that was fine and that I completely understood that they can't help staffing issues and I'd see them next week. Well I just received a phone call saying that they had to cancel Koda's appointment and that they could reschedule him for next week. I asked about Luna since her appointment was an hour after his and they said they needed to cancel hers as well due to staffing issues. The lady said she could guarantee they would get them in next weekend. When I asked how they could guarantee that they would get both of them in next week since I was told the same thing last week and the employee said that I would just have to take her word for it. The lady was extremely rude when I was trying to talk to her. I asked her how I was supposed to take her word for it when I was told the same thing last week, and I asked her if I should just reschedule at a different location. She just said that it was a me issue then she hung up on me and I got the text messages saying my dogs were cancelled. I've taken my pups to other locations in Roanoke and christiansburg and have never had an issue.

They had dart frogs but the crickets were the same size as the frogs... obviously they need training or maybe lazy...kinda sad...I would give one star but i can't fault the whole staff, but who ever runs reptiles needs educated and understand they don't know what they are doing or the company is forcing them but your setups are not right tiny boxes for your frogs... within the enclosure..it's just sad when I explained I got blown off..who am I the consumer...wow....

I scheduled a grooming appointment with Petco for this past Sunday (2/18/24). A couple hours before my appointment, I got a text saying the appointment was canceled and it was rescheduled for 2/21/24 (today) with 20% off because of the inconvenience. A couple hours before the appointment today, I got a call stating the appointment needed to be canceled AGAIN!!! What is going on? I guess they really want me to take my business elsewhere.

I love pet co, I use it for a lot of my reptile needs. I went in looking at the snakes they had there (was interested in purchasing a new snake). They had 4 ball pythons (2 pied, 2 bananas). All four of the snakes had mites. I know what mites look like and I even questioned it to one of the workers. They did look over the snake but kept telling me “I think that’s the pattern of the snake”. I would have believed them but I saw the mites actively moving and I also like I stated before, know what they look like. This is unacceptable and those babies need treating now!

Great service provided by the only employee in the store. What's up Petco? How is there only 1 employee? 5 stars to just to rate the gentleman who helped us. 1 star for poor operations of a big box retailer. Freight all over the store, one safety violation after another. Stacked pallets not secure just hanging out in the middle of aisles . Literal dog urine on the floor and shelves. I didn't even want my dog in there any longer. Do better or close it up until it's corrected.

Wish I could remember the employee that helped me find the probiotic a vet had recommended. Additionally, she helped me find an optimal brand of dog food that is better for my budget. (I did not go in with an intent to buy dog food!) When I went to get a cart for the food, she noted that the same brand was at the front of the store as well. She went with me to assure I found it. Then she put it in my cart... Then she went to get the Fortiflora to save the cashiers at the front time. Service was above expectations.

So Petco had half off of all reptiles so.... my wife and son thought they should get twice as much. Two lizards are now living with us. One day they may reach 5 ft. each and what then? Nobody warned my wife and son of this so in my mind I think they were hoodwinked. My wife reasoning for getting two lizard was b/c one lizard was laying on top of the one she wanted. She could find it in her heart to separate them. Then she give the both Latino names. So now there's a risk they may get deported...

It was a pleasant visit. I fell in love with this 8 year old black cat. He took to me, but wouldn't my daughter or other customers. I wish I had the money to adopt him. He deserves love. Little baby girl next to him is a super sweetheart. Angels of Assisi, some come get these two babies. I wish I could save them

I’ve contemplated writing this review for months. I took my dog there for training. I wanted training for specific issues I was having. The trainer (Meghan)worked on stuff my dog already knew and I’m still having the issues I took him for. She also didn’t show up or cancelled appointments several times. She had more excuses than anyone I’ve ever dealt with. She would beg and plead for another chance and would talk about what a good trainer she is, kinda pathetic. She also promised me extra training, if I would continue training with her, but I didn’t receive anything. I feel that I just threw $300 out the window and I can’t afford to do that! She also stiffed my friend out of $300. I don’t know if she’s still there, but DON’T take your dog there!

Nice store. The cashiers of late have not been impressive and the former store manager now works at the other location but the information everyone will give he works maybe 20 hours a week and then leave his employees to pull the load. Thank goodness the staff does their job but the stores could use real leadership.

The employees at this location are always very nice and helpful. I've shopped here several times and I've been helped by different employees, and all have been very friendly. Update 7/27/22: I've had the opportunity to use their grooming service and I was very pleased. The groomer did an excellent job and my dog really seemed to like her.

Went shopping for my beardie and while I was looking around one of the workers in aqua department, was very kind to entertain/educate my kids on types of fish and feeding them.While checking out I had questions about care of my dragon, and the cashier called the reptile specialist , he was very helpful and kind with answering all of my questions and not making me feel silly.Thank you for great customer service !!!
