My son and I visited Towers petco yesterday. We had our dogs with us. Our dogs enjoy walking through the store. We had 2 employees ask if they could pet them of course the dogs love being petted. I enjoy shopping at petco the store is clean they always have what I need in stock and the employees are always friendly and helpful its a very relaxing atmosphere. Thank You petco employees for all you do.

I just want to say that this store is awful. The very unpleasant manager, Star, would not honor the POSTED SIGN on leashes, harnesses, and collars, buy one get one 50 percent off. We were about to spend 500 dollars on two dogs, and the manager was the worst; she even called the manager, Matt, at the Towers store and verified the sign is still up. The crew was all on their phones and were more worried about their messed up paychecks. They wouldn't even check us out because of the paycheck situation. I highly recommend going literally anywhere else. Thanks, Star, you're the best.

Get rid of shannon or whoever the fish lady is. She is totally rude. On her phone constantly. She made an elderly man ahead of us wait as she rudely and loudly told whoever she was on the phone with “ugh I’ll have to call you later” while on the sales floor. She is a literal fish hobbyist nightmare. I was going in there to buy two 55 gallon setups in store and walked out with a dying betta I couldn’t leave behind :( very unpleasant. Only saving grace is the adoptables from angels and MELODY the cashier <3 LITERALLY GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR FISH unless you want to be bullied.

Manager of this store is extremely rude! My mom placed a mobile order here for me to pick up because she was unable to go out. I told the cashier working (an older lady) i was there to pick up my order. She tells me it’s not there and tries to dismiss me. I tell her no maam it should be here, she continues to deny me and then states there’s a long line behind me like i’m bothering her. She directs me to the manager who also tries to cut me off mid sentence and tell me my order isn’t there. I told her my name as well as my mother’s and she still tries to tell me neither names were in the system. After a while of back and fourth she finally reads off my moms name and tries to tell me that’s not the name i gave her the first time because she simply realized she was wrong and made a mistake. After her arguing and them trying to shew me aways turns out my order WAS THERE!!! she just didn’t want to bother looking into it. the employees here seem very brainless and weak minded. will not be returning…

Just ran into Petco, to check on the price of dog food the veterinarian had suggested as a brand for my dog and puppy. Staff was helpful and the product was easy to find. After comparing prices I decided to keep with the brand I was feeding my dog and puppy.

After his groomer moved away and his owner passed, a very grouchy Shih-Tzu joined our family. He did not do well for two other groomers we tried. Then we came to Petco @ Towers Mall. Not only was his bath and grooming session amazingly fast and well-done, his grouchiness was pretty minimal…mostly due to the gentle natured person who dealt with him! We’ve already scheduled our next appointment ❤️ Highly recommend

I ordered a 75 gallon Aqueon 48" x 18" Aquarium online for 50% off for pickup only. It was the easiest pickup I've ever had, and gives me a huge habitat to exceed the 600 sq inch minimum for hamster. The cashier helped me and my husband load it, and she was tiny. My husband and I pushed it in and moved the seats forward, and she helped wedge it into our small Toyota Camry but it fit!! She was awesome and friendly. Petco in Roanoke did an awesome job, because your employee on Saturday 3/11/2023 about noon was awesome!!

This Petco location has the absolute BEST FRIENDLIEST & HELPFUL staff. I've never used their grooming services but I've been buying Betas and cat items for many years. The woman who is usually at the registers is one of my favorite employees in retail sales. Also...their fish are healthy and lively, clean etc. Many of the betas I've purchased over time have lived over 5 years.

Tried to go there twice in the last two days, both times the store was closed before the stated times. One day an hour early, today 2 and a half hours early. 2/3 times I have actually made it before it closed to get my dog’s nails trimmed, they forgot to trim so of them.

Staff is always kind and helpful, when the store is open. Petco is the only store in town that carries the dog food we need. With my spouse and I both on a 9-5 work schedule, the short, unpredictable store hours are making it very difficult to obtain food for our 3 dogs.

The manager was called to clarify a question, and she seemed annoyed to have to come to the front to answer it. Also, they don't have expiration dates on the topical cat treatments, yet those items are non-refundable.

I adopted my kitty from the satelite partnership they have at this location. Rocky has become my light in the darkness. They must be doing something right with their treatment of the cats at their store. I'm so so blessed to have chanced upon my little dude.

Not a fan! Avoid this lication if you can! Half the time I go in the store they don't have what I'm looking for, now I've learned they aren't going to carry my dog's food anymore after two decades of selling it! Plus, the staff at the registers will bully and shame you in front of other customers into donating to the charities their corporate supports because it makes the store look good! I have given this location my business for the last time, convenient location be damned! Go to Petsmart, another Petco or shop local and go to Nature's Emporium - they have the food!

First of all I like the fact that I can bring my big baby with me! We still have a lot of work to do as far as Buddy's excitement in public. He is strong as horse and petco is cornucopia of smells! He walked me through the store until I found his goodies and I could finally get out of there! LoL! Once in the car, he regained his senses. On a different note, the place has it all and staff was very helpful in finding what I was looking for.

Great staff, but they are a tad expensive. However, you get what you pay for. The leashes and gentle leaders (had halters) I got my 70 lb Dutch Shepherd and 50 lb Old English American Bulldog are made to last. I've had these ones going on 6 months with no issue. The 2 i purchased at petsmart last April didn't even survive a month. They rubbed funny on the side and snapped.

Usually have no issues with this location but what on earth is going on with the store hours???? Closing at 5pm now? And a bunch of reviews about it. Bluntly, I have to wonder what policies the company is keeping to drive away staff to this extent - from what reviews are on other sites about working there, it seems to be an issue with poor management. Corporate probably needs to address that and get this store back on track.

I like the store. The team is friendly and efficient, and they know my dog by name. But they're never open! I go at 8, they close at 7. I go at 6, they close at 5. Today they were closed at 4:34pm. All the hour changes are giving me whiplash and wasting my tme. Please pick a time and stick with it.Update: Approximately one month later, this branch continues to close, without notice, within business hours, every single solitary time I attempt to shop there. Today must be the tenth or eleventh try since my original Google review. I have never seen anything like this before! Especially given that this is a corporate run chain!

I refilled 2 containers of cat litter and when I had paid for it the young lady at cash register offered to help me load it in my car. I have a broken wrist and arm and I can’t tell you how much it meant to me. She did not hesitate even though they were 30 lbs each.

Nice store with plenty of things for your pets. My only issue is they're always out of the water additive I buy for my cat. This time they had new shipment of merchandise but hadn't checked it yet. Employees are very nice & apologetic for this situation each time. They also give me discounts on items when anything I buy isn't in the right place & I dispute the price.

Whatever the reason is for the odd store hours is not working and needs to be resolved. This has been my goto store for years until now. However, last time I was in there (after sitting outside waiting for them to open late) the saltwater tanks were very clean which is rare.

The website said the Ark mini tarter treats were in stock, they weren't. I rushed from work to get there by 5pm. Ridiculous that a retail store closes at 5pm. I am going to use Amazon, Chewy or Pet Smart for future pet needs.

Always seem to have plenty of fish in the tanks as well as other types of animals to pjck from. Plenty of items in stock throughout the store. Helpful and friendly staff. Seem to always have a lot of folks there.

I cannot say this enough, DO NOT bring your dog here to get groomed. My dog spent 5 hours here and I finally picked him up and he still wasn’t done. The haircut is botched and looks nothing like we discussed. His nails are sharp. His head and paws weren’t finished. Yet, when I showed up to get him he was in the crate and two other dogs were on the table. Only took off $18. She was nice but the service was not.

I went in today with intentions to buy a 75 gallon aquarium and some other items. I am unable to carry such an item and went to the front to ask for a cart or something to wheel it up there and then to my car. The short-haired manager screamed from the office that they didn’t have any available and offered zero assistance. I put all of my stuff back and drove across town to a different location to make my purchase. Also, at the second store there was a representative that saw I needed assistance right away and even went to get a dolly to put the tank in my car. It’s a shame you have to drive across town for good service.

Worst staff imaginable, neglect every customer in store, third time being here to get my 2 year old fish and third time leaving due to employees sitting in a corner having little pow wows like were in elementary school. Waited for 20 minutes next to tanks and just get stared at by employees from other side of store. None were helping a single customer at all but insisted on being loud and obnoxious while laughing and havimg a grand old time mingling in their clique, doing everything but what im assuming is their jobs. If your looking for pet supplies, and have little ones, I highly recommend any other pet store aside from this location.
