I dread going into Lowe's. I avoided the Challenger Ave. store today and went to Rutgers St. The employees there are slightly more helpful and knowledgeable but that's still not saying a whole lot vs Home Depot on Hershberger Rd. We needed a quart of paint to finish a project. Brought the paint card in and presented it to the blonde girl at the paint counter and when we came back to pick it up it was a gallon instead of a quart and of course she was nowhere to be found and nobody else in sight of the paint counter. We flagged down another employee and told him about the mistake. He disappeared for a while and came back and said the only option he had was to make us a quart of it and he couldn't do anything about the gallon in regards to discounting it. We got the quart and finished up a $500 shopping trip and I told my wife to swing by the discounted paint and stain shelf and have a look. Sure enough the gallon that they made by mistake was sitting there with a sign on top that said "as is $15". Why couldn't they simply have sold us that gallon for $15 instead of us paying $8+ for a quart when it was in the color we requested and it was their mistake. Stupidity at it's finest. We were livid and my wife on the way out of the store told me to wait in the car for her and she went back in and bought the gallon for $15 that they refused to discount for us only 20 minutes earlier. You simply cannot make this kind of stuff up folks. I will avoid ANY Lowe's stores in my vicinity if there is a Home Depot I can shop at. It's a night and day experience. Every employee wanting to help and actually knowledgeable in the department they are working in. I have numerous horror stories about the Lowe's on Challenger Ave. near my home. Apparently they are all the same.

Stopped to pick up some things today. We don't use self checkout anywhere, but definitely couldn't today as I had just had a medical procedure. Went to customer service to be checked out. The lady working there refused to check us out, and stated that she is unable to check out customers at customer service. We left our items in the cart, and won't be back.

This Lowe's store is amazing! They have a large selection and just seem to have more for better prices. The people in here are very friendly and very helpful. Love this place!

Prepping garden for season, several amendments such as worm castings are not available and they could give me no data as to when it will be returned.Thus particular location has very knowledgeable staff and no inventory

Poor security on parking area, I just got stole a 700$ piece of equipment wile I was buying something inside. Lowe’s should take care more about peoples trucks while they’re inside buying stuff.

First time going in this Lowe’s location (Rutgers street) and doing a pick up order.. Every employee I talked with, was super nice and helpful especially Charles! By far the best Lowe’s in the area.Thank you !

I went in to buy a water filter for our well. I only had 1 choice and it was more expensive then what I usually pay. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Very disappointed with the customer service I received. I found the product I needed in the store, upon checking out I was told the product was not in their system and I could not buy the item. I found the item in a different color on their website and they refused to honor it. Not sure why there are items there that aren’t able to be sold. Given this was their own mistake there should have been an exception of some sort made. On to Home Depot I go.

Since you asked, Lowes.The level of customer service has dropped through the floor. I actually hate shopping Lowes any longer BECAUSE of the poor customer service.Their closest competitor, the orange place, yep....far, far better than Lowes at this point.The military discount program you USED to honor is a joke. The discount has been removed from anything pertinent. Why bother? Why waste time pretending to show this respect....puuulease.I actually avoid going to Lowes now. Seriously, I drive to the orange place pretty much daily to purchase items for this small commercial job and go an additional 2 miles further so that I can avoid these stores.Price gouging. Not honoring competitor prices.Want more reason?

This Lowe’s makes you feel like a hero in a parade. I drove an hour to purchase an appliance and they made it worth every mile. The man in line behind us requested the name of the associate who helped him to write a letter of thanks. I really feel that they appreciated my service time. The store was spotless and the manager was the ultimate professional.

Check out is terrible. Only self check out was open. I ask for assistance as I was going to use military discount and I had a rewards certificate for using my charge card. Before the cashier couldn’t get it to work on self checkout. The lady that came said I should be able to do self checkout.I told her we qualify for military discount and I had a rewards gift certificate. She said I couldn’t use both. I told her I had always used both that I couldn’t use military discount if stuff was on sale She preceded to check me out. And of course both worked. An older gentleman came up and ask for help and she told him he had to go to self checkout that her register wasn’t open He told her from now on he would shop at Home Depot. You are going to lose a lot of customers if you continue to operate like this I have had my Lowe’s Visa for many years and use it as my primary card. This may change.

Went to look at getting a New grill. Ran into a Lowe's Associate Rocky, and walked out with a New Blackstone 4 burner grill !!!Super help from Rocky, Kendra and Bridget !!Look forward to the grill delivery and I can't wait to use it !!

One of the best Lowe's that I have ever been to. I was going to purchase a grill. And didn't know for sure which one I should get and which one was the best. I was greeted by two Associates named Dean and Rocky. They took their time with me and explained everything about the grills and which one would be the best to purchase when I picked out one Rocky was right on it to get the grill up to the front for my purchase while Dean showed me everything that I would need for the grill. And when I picked everything that I would like he followed me to the register to help me with the self-checkout and Rocky and Dean loaded my new grill up in my vehicle. These two men were very patient and never rushed me to hurry up and pick out what I needed. After that I went to the gardening section and met a man named Kevin. I needed some lava rocks and could not find them he was very helpful and helping me find what I needed and he was so friendly and nice. I will say that this is one of the best Lowe's with the friendliest Associates in Roanoke Virginia

Lowe's just has their skill set together. The shelves are packed with necessary items that we go in there to get. I have not yet had the experience of looking for something and not being able to get it. Whereas other stores this is often the case. This particular trip I had random things that I needed to purchase and had a very successful trip. They also are very helpful, even when I'm not looking they will come up to me and ask if I need any assistance. Again, very different from other stores. woody is one amazing employee you have here. that man deserves a raise. most of the time I need help locating what I’m looking for (especially since store has been rearranged some ) many of the workers here are reluctant to help when I ask. good employees like him really make it a pleasant experience!

If you ever wonder if an organization is effectively run - call their customer service number and ask to speak to a manager. If you do so with Lowe's you will get transferred around in repetition until some temporary contract worker on the receiving dock eventually answers. He will know nothing, have no access to a computer, and be completely in the dark. I previously loved Lowe's - but over the years this organization has fallen in every relevant customer metric. Really disappointed.

Great customer service by Kyle! One older gentleman (employee) was constantly talking and yapping to a customer about something that had nothing to do with the business of Lowes. A young man named Kyle was very helpful in assisting me and locating the flashlights that I needed for Father's Day. He was very efficient and I appreciated him stepping out of his way to help me and then Miss Judy at the cashier's register called me over to her station to check me out when I did not see that she was available. (And I got some great deals at the clearance racks!)

When the delivery folks unboxed the new refrigerator it looked like it had been in a flood!!! Definitely didn't accept it. Lowe's called me later that evening to order another one in 7-10 days. I got a stove from them last year and was not pleased at all and said I wouldn't buy appliances from Lowe's again but I did. Should have listened to myself.

Problem with here as with a lot of retailers very hard to find help, especially when you're trying to locate items. The employees that are here are helpful but just stretched thin.Update 4/11/24 Seems they've taken all but two of the employee ran checkouts. Those two were not being run. You had to go through a self checkout.

The people who work here are FaBuLouS! They have gone out of their way for me so many times... taking me to the aisle that has an item I need, giving me detailed information about 2 items when I'm trying to determine which meets my needs, helping me pick out the best fertilizer for my azaleas, checking on my granite counter installation from start to finish, helping me choose the right carpet (and padding) for my home. I could go on and on, but actually, I think I have before in other Lowe's reviews. This pic is of my fav store on Challenger Rd in Roanoke. I love how it looks like the sky is showing off this Lowe's =)

There appliance delivery service absolutely sucks. Customer service is no better. Home Depot 100% better option to shop at. If you need appliances go to appliance outlet

Every time I come to this Lowe’s I can never get any help in the garden center, I constantly need bulk quantities of landscape supplies and no one can page anyone to get me loaded up. I usually have to spend an hour to get simply supplies that could be loaded up in 10 minutes. It has happened twice this week, I have went inside and paid came around back and no one was there to unlock the gate and help me get loaded up. When someone finally sees me waiting they say that they had no idea no one paged them. This is killing my time when I have employees on the clock.

Good neat store with a great selection and friendly staff. HOWEVER, the blaring police surveillance tower with loud speakers and blue lights ruins it all. It's like some dystopian fascist future of government surveillance and orders. I completely understand that theft is a huge problem that costs us all, but don't treat each customer like a potential criminal. Interestingly enough, no such device is in the Hunting Hills store part of town. I will not return until it's gone.

Very helpful in buying new appliances, I recommend walking back to where they do the custom kitchen cabinets, very helpful for our small non-profit.
