Stopped here during a visit to Roanoke for the Foot Levelers Marathon race thru the mountains...glad we found this place. Staff was super friendly, food was great and the prices were not insane like a lot of places lately. Would go back again for sure. Rolls tasted like something my grandma would make, the food tasted good & the carrot cake tasted homemade too! A+ stop if you are in town.

First time diners and what a great surprise. We were seated quickly (party of 4) and our server Alex was engaging and quite efficient. The food was amazing as we had the pork chops, which were huge, salmon which was delicious, club sandwich, and Texas chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so good. Casual atmosphere which was comfortable. A definite recommend.

Like most non residents, I did a drive by. An old building with a packed parking lot (score!). Cozy inside, and quite full. I was greeted right away and as a party of "one", I wasn't forced to sit at the bar. I struggled to choose one entree, but based on a waitress' opinion, I chose the Rubeun. The fresh rye bread was perfectly buttered and seared just enough to hold. It was not over-stacked with meat, or greasy, but balanced with the bread. It melted in my mouth. While I'm usually so-so with sweet potatoes fries, these were seasoned to perfection. My meal was complete, and I had to take a slice of cake home (huge tiered cakes). I did not take a pic before I ate, I don't usually feel the need to review restaurants, but this was a gem. So, notice the large plate to tea spoon ratio, full value for cost!Parking: Some parking in front, paved & handicap. The sloped side of building has spots as well.Kid-friendliness: Low key, vinyl covered tables (ok for spills), comfy chairs, cheerful staff to accommodateWheelchair accessibility: Sloped entry from parking lot at two points

Amazing service. Amazing food. Very popular (busy) local favorite. My wife and I were a party of 2 and quickly seated at the bar, but the turn around time was pretty quick as the larger party that showed up at the same time as us was seated shortly after. I would highly recommend this restaurant.I did not try any of the desserts but they looked EPIC.

We were passing through on our way to North Carolina and based on reviews and how close this was off of 81 we decided to try it. Very good!Such friendly service and the food was hot, fresh and very good and fast! I highly recommend getting the fresh cut fries andCobb salad with grilled chicken.About four to five minutes ( 1.9 miles) off of 81.Check out the cool maps of where people have visited from!

We were seated quickly and the service was great. Unfortunately the food was not. I got the Mediterranean wrap and it was not very good at all, I took 2 bites. The meatloaf had a good flavor but very greasy the mashed potatoes were ok and so were the green beans. The fried green Tomatoes were breaded and the flavor of the tomato was lost in the breaded taste. They tasted fine but not the fried green tomatoes I’m used to. 5 stars to the wait staff because they are great and on top of everything.

It was a nice place to stop at. I've never been there before but even tho they was extremely busy the team did a great job communicating to one another and to their customers. They did great with getting tables cleaned off well before sitting people. The staff seemed very friendly and clearly have alot of customers that always come back since staff new many people by their names. It was very nice, clean, and friendly people. I will definitely go back next time im on that part of town.

A small but very popular restaurant. Parking is kind of tight near the building. There is additional parking to the right and on the grass below. All of the wait staff were smiling and friendly. We waited a little while for our food, but it came out nice and hot. The oyster dinner came with a generous amount of food. The oysters were perfectly fried and the sweet potato fries were crispy.

The staff handled our party of 19 wlth warmth and efficacy. The menu was diverse, delicious, and affordable . I ordered three blocked snapper and Killer Carrot cake. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, it felt almost like a family dinner. Dessert was delectable. I highly recommend this amazing gem to anyone, any age, any time.Dietary restrictions: There are plenty on non-gluten options.Parking: There is parking right outside the restaurant and in a lot below.

Parking is a little tight if you go during peak business hours, so if you have a bigger vehicle, you may want to park in the side lot by the park/college. We come to VA once a year to run the Blue Ridge Marathon, and Hollywood's is a part of our pre-race ritual! They have the best food, the best service, and the best dessert around. You'll find salads, wraps, burgers, and even shrimp and grits. There is literally something for everyone.

Had dinner at Hollywood. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My meal started with a salad which lacked in presentation, the staff threw salad greens on a plate. The entree was excellent, the shrimp creole was very tasty and full of plenty of large shrimp, so large you had to cut them up to eat them. Worth a return visit.I returned on 9/23 and had the shrimp creole again and it was just as good as last time.

Travelling, we stopped for lunch after reading reviews. Great restaurant food was obviously fresh and made to order. Staff was pleasant. Had to try cake, Coconut Cake was "best ever" per my husband and the Chocolate Mousse Cake was. Moist and very tasty! Will definitely stop again next time we pass through. Dinner menu looked great tooKid-friendliness: Saw a few little ones, high chairs available

Holy. Moly! If we lived here, we would be regulars! Dinner was outstanding!! Pork with caramelized onion and Cabernet, fresh baked rolls were warm and delicious, and looking forward to the carrot cake we got "to go" for back at our hotel. Thank you, Debbie, for your hospitality and impeccable service! Hoping to visit again in our travels!

Hollywood Restaurant looks like an old diner and the interior reinforces that impression. The parking area is small with some odd sloping spots. We were greeted promptly and led to a table. The service was up to scratch and sooo friendly. Food was delivered in a timely manner, and plates were cleared from the table. The wine list is woefully inadequate. We ended up with a bottle of something red but it wasn’t very good. The food menu, on the other hand, is a pleasant surprise with quite a variety of options. We ordered three entrees and an appetizer and all were large portions. The Chesapeake bay fried oyster appetizer was mostly breading wrapped around very small oysters. It was our least favorite. The shrimp and grits was delicious but really spicy – which the waitress warned us about. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and they were a nice size. The Catfish Matrimony was lightly fried served on southern grits with a creamy Cajun andouille and shrimp sauce and garnished with tomatoes and green onions was very tasty. It came with a side of some lightly sauteed vegetables which I could have eaten more of. The coconut shrimp were also large and were right up my spouse’s alley. The accompanying french fries were very good. We were stuffed by the end of the meal and ended up with several doggy bags. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!

The fried green tomato app was bomb! I got the coco loco chicken and wow was I impressed. I tasted coconut but the honey dip was fire. So glad we took a detour and stopped for lunch as we traveled thru. You can tell this place is beloved by locals. Also, the PEANUT BUTTER PIE. So. Good. Must have! I wish I lived closer to eat it more often ha!

The desserts from the bakery are worth 5 stars alone. The service is worth 5 stars alone. The variety and quality of food is worth 5 stars alone. For some reason, this little place has remained a secret to me into recently. How I've lived here most of my life and not known about it I will never know. I stumbled across it looking for a new place for lunch. My son and I went on a Saturday afternoon. It was packed but we were seated almost immediately. Our server was friendly, spot on with her recommendations, and exceptionally efficient at meeting our minimal needs. The portions are ample - we needed to go boxes and had to take dessert with us.As one who doesn't care for pimento cheese, I was so disappointed that my grief green tomato appetizer came with it. I needn't have worried. It was to die for!Everything was delicious beyond expectation. The manager (I can only assume that's who she was) was gracious and everyone seems truly invested in making sure patrons have an excellent experience!Go. And make sure you feed your fat face with dessert!!!!

This was recommended from our hotel Tru by Hilton nearby. The coconut shrimp and horseradish cheesy grits were something special. My crab bisque was absolutely delicious and the ribs were amazing. This is like heaven and that southern flair is evident here, so so good. I'm from NJ/NY area, they don't actually do food like this there no matter what they say back east. Our waitress was polite and well mannered, in sharp conrast to NJ/NY manners, they have very little. Nice to be treated well through and through here, definitely recommend.

The hotel we were staying at recommended this local eatery and boy was it an awesome one. Nothing fancy about this restaurant but the food and service exceeded our expectations. The menu has something for everyone and the prices were very reasonable and in fact less than I expected. It you are looking for a local restaurant with a bunch of options be sure to checkout this spot.
