You know I used to really love Harris animal hospital. I've been taking my dog there. Grace for over a decade and they've been the best but here in the past year or so. I don't know what's happened but they are very short and I don't get the customer service I used to just this morning I called to ask about some heart guard well in the past, The lady always said oh, that's no problem Come on up and we'll have it ready for you but now I'm getting told when I call and In a semi rude voice. We require 24-hour notice. So we'll text you when it's ready. Total difference from the old Harris animal hospital I used to know. Is it really that hard to take a box of heart guard throw it in the bag, take my money and say have a nice day which would take less than 5 minutes. Wow you guys. You don't have to worry about me as a customer No more. Folks, what's going on in our world today? Does nobody care about one another anymore? It's so sad. Prices have skyrocketed customer service has plummeted. Dr Harris would be ashamed of this. I'm so disappointed. I used to love you guys, think about this,instead of scorning me and telling me about proper procedures that I have never heard in 12 years giving you my business all you had to do is say we will text you when your dogs heartgard is ready and I would have said thank you.The time you spent telling me proper procedures lol you could have thrown the box of heart guard in a bag and been done with it but now You've lost a loyal customer. Some people aren't made for customer service,I deal with customers every day and I always thank them for there business,our world has lost compassion for one another. I guess I'm just old school when businesses appreciated there customers who keep them in business.

It was my first time coming here but the emergency vet was not taking anymore pets for the day because they were at capacity. Harris animal hospital was able to get me In the same day. My poor baby was in pain and they were able to get him all better and gave me a treatment plan to prevent future issues. Dr. Simon explained everything to me in terms I could understand. The staff was more than welcoming and made sure my Tucker was taken care of. They definitely have a new patient and I’ll be sure that I will be coming back to them

It is difficult to find the words to fully describe how incredibly thankful I am to Harris Animal Hospital and Dr. Lucinda Hodges for saving the life of my dear Peke Stella. Stella was rescued from a deplorable puppy mill in N.C., where she and about 50 other dogs had spent their entire lives in tiny crates stacked upon each other. They sat in their own urine, feces, rotting food and dirty water. Stella and her puppy were taken to a shelter, where the puppy was adopted but Stella stood to be gassed. Meanwhile, her malnourishment had led to such severe dental disease that her jaw was fractured in two places, and she was living with terrible pain. Dr. Hodges performed an extensive jaw restoration, caring for Stella personally for months as she recovered with her wired jaw. Stella had never seen flowers before and was terriifed of everything -- even walking on grass -- when Dr. Hodges took her in. That was in the spring of 2013. Four years later, Stella is full of life! She LOVES to eat and play; her tail is constantly wagging, and she adores her "brother," Sam, a Shih Tzu rescue. She also can be found napping curled up with her two feline brothers. She rules the household, and every day I silently thank Dr. Hodges and Harris Animal Hospital for giving life to this girl. Thank you!

Amazing. Our cat Rukia LOVES Dr. Hodges. Shes always considerate and listens to your concerns. When we got her, she was a stray and had a ton of problems. If it wasnt for Dr. Hodges she may of not made it. Highly recommend this vet!

Since Dr. Harris passed in 2010 this Veterinarian's office is not the same. Rude employees, expensive & not concerned about the well being of my pets.

I have brought my pets here for over 40 years. Since Dr. Harris ran it. The staff is incredible. I have all of my dogs and all of my cats entrusted to them. We wouldn't have it any other way.

We have had 4 of our pups under Dr. Lucinda Hodges care for several years. She is the most compassionate and competent veterinarian I have ever have had the pleasure of dealing with. We live over an hour away and it is worth the trip to experience the great care our furbabies have received there. Our dogs have had some serious health issues since they have all been rescues. Dr. Hodges has always been completely honest and upfront about what is going on with each one. I am 100% confident that anything she tells us is the truth. The prices are more than reasonable and the degree of care our dogs have received there are priceless! The whole staff is so caring. Recently, we had to say goodbye to one of our babies at Harris Animal Hospital. Dr. Hodges and all the staff cried right along with us when he had to make the decision to tell our baby goodbye. I have always felt we are being treated honestly and our pups have received beyond extraordinary care at Harris Animal Hospital! There are none better!

The Harris Animal Hospital is an amazing place. They treated my fur baby like the person he thinks he is. Billy usually don't like many people but he loves the staff and he really loved Dr.Simons. They were very professional and understanding to his past and his needs. I would recommend them for your fur baby too. They treat them like family and to my surprise they even followed up on my Billy the next day just to make sure he felt better.

Our family has been going to Harris Animal Hospital for over 30+ years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. Hodges has such a sweet, calming approach which puts everyone at ease. She has certainly found her calling taking care of animals. The staff is wonderful and are always so helpful whether it is a routine visit or an emergency situation. You know you couldn't ask for any better when your dog gets excited when she knows she gets to go to the vet's office. Love them!!!

So friendly, so nice. Always watched out for my baby since she was born. When I had to put my Yorkie down they were nice as could be, going out of their way to do things they didn't need to. They did what they could to ease her passing and understood my pain with having to make that decision and say goodbye to my best friend of 15 years.Just a week later I got a card in the mail, personally signed by each member of the staff offering their condolences.I don't know that I will ever be able to get another pet.. but if I did.. Harris Animal Hospital is where I would take them.If I could give more than 5 stars I would.But I guess 5 stars and 2 hearts will have to do.

I have been using Harris Animal Hospital for several years for all of my personal and foster dogs. Both Dr Hodges and Dr Simon are professional and caring. If I have an emergency they always find a way to work me into their schedule. When I have very ill pets, who have to stay in their care, I always know they are getting the best care. I often hear people say their dogs don't like going to the vet. I tell them they should try Harris, because my dogs love all the attention they get when they go in for grooming, vaccinations, or illnesses.

I adopted a special needs kitten when is was in graduate school years ago. A veterinary neurologist told me he would only live a year before a latent infection occurred and I would lose him. Well, 10 years later he was still running around my house causing all kids of mischief. I attribute the years I got to spend loving my sweet Thadius to the care he received from Dr. Hodges and the staff at Harris Animal Hospital. For the first 2-3 years of his life she saw him at least every other week to help me care for his legs which were left paralyzed after an accident he had when he was 4 weeks old. He was a well known character at the hospital and a favorite among the staff even though he was not the easiest patient to handle. She taught me how to take care of each of his needs and spent her own personal time researching options we could try for treatment. My family has taken our pets to Harris for most of my life and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great veterinary practice. And I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hodges. She truly cares about her patients and their families.

Cannot begin to tell you how wonderfully caring the ladies that work at Harris are. We called this afternoon to make an appointment for our 7 week old puppy to get her second round of shots. Didn't even have to give them anything but the pup's name and Helen knew exactly who was calling and gushed over the puppy asking how she was doing. Another veterinarian's office in town has never known any of our animals' names even though they've been treating them for years. Getting ready to switch all of our babies over to Harris.These folks are the best!

In my opinion, the best Veterinarian hospital in the Roanoke Valley! Greats Doctors and assistants! Everyone there truly cares about the health of your animal(family member) and the do what it takes to help you and your pet(family member)! They take there time and answer any questions you may have! I have dealt with Harris Animal Hospital for close to thirty years and would recommend them to anyone! They have pictures of there furry patients throughout the building!

This vet office has been super professional and awesome every time they have seen one of my animals. I have not been happy with some vets before but the vets here only recommend what they need to diagnose any problems, vaccines and preventative to keep my animals healthy, and treatment that is needed. They are extremely compassionate and listen to my concerns and answer my questions in a way i can understand. They have always worked with me on my budget, which can be very tight at times. Their prices are awesome and extremely reasonable compared to other vets that I have seen. They are definitely the vet office to go to!!

Fantastic loving Hospital from the staff to the Dr.My baby girl was turned away by 3 different Animal Hospital for a emergency. They got my babygirl right in and took care of her. Harris Animal Hospital is absolutely amazing. Both Dr. Hodges and Dr. Simon have saved most of my animals lives, some more than once. They have cried with me, they have laughed with me and they have hugged me when I've needed it the most. I have never met a staff so caring about their patients, in every aspect. Every pet that comes through the doors, is treated like their own. Anybody I meet who inquires about a veterinarian, I suggest Harris Animal Hospital!!!

The more I go...the more I love this place! Always trying to help me keep my bill affordable. Dr Hodges never forgets to ask me if there's ANYTHING else I'm concerned with or care to chat about. A big "thank you" to Dr. Hodges and her staff. I started going to this practice almost 20 years ago. They have always taken excellent care of my babies.....thru routine things and very serious, complicated things. They were very sympathetic and understanding when the horrible days came that I had to say goodbye to my precious babies. When a vet cries with you, you know they care and love your babies too.
