I'm my opinion Food Lion is better then most/ all grocery stores that I have visited. They always have friendly cashiers. The managers are always willing to help out. It's never a really long line. They don't have the self check out where I'm from. Other stores in my area do so I'm not sure if this is a Food Lion thing or just my location. The prices you can't beat anywhere else and who doesn't like lions?

Usually visit this store prior to 4 pm, and the service is friendly and very good. Tonight at 8:30 pm, I stopped in on my way home for eight two liter Dr. Peppers. The daytime cashiers always cheerfully put my sodas in doubled plastic bags as I've requested as I have to carry them thirty feet from my driveway to my front door. In this case, the cashier didn't seem too thrilled with bagging them. Generally speaking, eight two liters usually takes eight bags total, double bagged. Guy bag's two triple bagged three sodas, one double bagged set of two. Is he lazy or stupid? Three two liters are kind of difficult to carry that way and he used the same number of bags.

If you’re local this is a good grocery store. If you are not I don’t recommend going to this location in the evenings.Ran into the store last minute to grab a few things. Place is nice and clean but its very hard to find what you need if you haven’t been there before. Couldn’t find a soda isle and staff was not helpful.Night shift was basically a bunch of kids up front goofing; off eating at registers (not discreetly like you would expect if they were just hungry) hanging out with non-staff and not really working.I get they are younger/kids but it shouldn’t have taken me 30 minutes to checkout all while watching available staff just standing around and the one cashier answer the phone when there are people in her line.

Clean store with full shelves and variety of products. Not typically my go to shopping store due to prices being a bit higher than most, but you can't beat some of the weekly deals advertised. Staff was magnificent, helpful, and speedy.

If you have health issues you need to know this store will not accept Dr's notes and employees are made to come in sick or risk termination.They store perishable items returned under the counter for hours before they are put back on shelf.They knowingly hire offenders who are not legally allowed to work with minors.When a cashier alerted them to the liability of hiring offender and how the public and other employees were uncomfortable around offender/employees and the offenders record was uncovered. The reporting cashier became an immediate target from management. This included MikeChristian following him to the bathroom listening and commenting on how he really had to go and then exited the br leaving employee humiliated. Mike is also racist and calls young black employees "his boy" a few weeks weeks ago a lady had a return and he didn't believe her and said "She's just trying to jew us" how is he still there?Dee Ann Perez asked a new hire to join her and her husband for some things a manager should never request. Dee Ann was reported but no action was taken.Chris Glass the main guy is cronies with Rob Ward so nothing gets done. This store has the highest loss and is a laughing stock. Corrupt and needs investigated.

Clerks are very friendly and the staff is eager to help you find any products you are searching for. I really like the way workers do not just tell you where the products are; they do not hesitate to actually escort you to the place where the products are in the store. I usually visit a Food Lion Store once or twice every week to purchase vegetables, meats, specials, water and any other products I may need.

The closest supermarket for many low income people unfortunately most items are priced way higher than Kroger. It is cheaper to spend the gas to go to Kroger vs shop here most of the time. I do like the friendly cashiers but it's laughable how they don't have a self checkout in 2023. I feel like I'm going backwards in time in this store which maybe isn't a terrible thing really. It is at least better to see locals shopping here vs the corner stores

I had unfortunate experience of dealing with Kyle and his 2 working buddies who were all 3 ringing up my order and way way to busy talking among themselves. Had to get rude several times because he would just stop ringing up food to talk to his work friends. Took him 14 minutes to ring up $48 worth of food . I finally started scanning my own food at his register and then he finally got the idea

Honestly one of my favorite stores in the area. Seems to have a wider selection of international ingredients as well as an excellent produce section. Having no self check out is a huge bonus imo.

This particular store is ALWAYS fully stocked and very clean. The restrooms are clean as well. There aren't many public restrooms that I will use because most are disgusting. Not true here. Management is excellent and the costomer service is always friendly and helpful. The produce section is my favorite and it's always FRESH. The prices are competitive as well. It's a well run grocery store. The parking lot is always clean as well and they do a great job keeping the carts put up and out of the way.

Management never has sale items programmed to correct sale price in computer and they never know what's on sale or price so you have to prove what's on sale to get the sale price. And usually have to go back over a overcharged sale item to get proper change and this makes the fourth time in a row its happened.

I've gotten rotten beef or beef that last less than 24 hrs in the fridge from here at least 3 times in the last year. Any food lion beef besides the rolls stay away from it.

Nice Food Lion (they're not all quite alike) with very helpful and friendly staff. I asked for cold pickles, for example, and a nice staffer pointed right the way in front of me. Duh. She could have made me feel like an idiot but instead smiled and said "Darlin, that's the easiest thing I've done all day. Thank YOU." Pretty standard set of basic groceries, not a large store, feels like a neighbourhood market. Easy in/out, plenty of parking, ADA compliant, everything pretty well marked (except cold pickles) and their staff is responsive when queues get long.20.10.2022 UPDATE:No real changes. Supply chain problems hit the store for awhile (actually, no cold pickles) but they've bounced back and are pretty well stocked now. Same great staff. No rating change. Cheers!06.09.2023 UPDATE:Well stocked now, friendly staff. Helpful. Clean decent grocery still. Cheers!

This Food Lion never has the essentials. Today they were out of bread and 95% of the beef was either brown or turning brown. You can not get a pound of hamburger without buying 2 packs. It's a shame when you have to drive across town to go to another grocery store because the one closest to you is a disaster.

I haven't been here in a while but I will say it was very clean and very organized. The staff was smiling and very friendly. Maybe the managers at Kroger at Lakeside should come check out this store and take notes lol will definitely start shopping here more.

I think this store suffers because of it's location. It can look kinda sketchy at night. No self checkout. There seems to be a issue keeping the shelves stocked. On any given day they might have everything or not a lot. The employees are courteous. It's conveniently close to surrounding neighborhoods.

Great store. Clean and usually well stocked. Produce guy is fantastic, super helpful. Knocked a whole 2 stars off of my rating because of one particularly rude employee. Shorter, older asian dude. Usually see him in the meat department or dairy. He sucks.

It is the Food Lion located at Bennington Place SE, small strip mall. It was a wonderful experience,to go to a grocery store, that actually had customer service, checkers to check you out, associates stocking in the store that were helpful and polite. It is a clean, well organized store, and I did save money. After the horrible experiences I have had with Walmart Neighborhood Market in SE and the experience I want to forget I had at the Valley View Walmart Supercenter. I actually had a experience that I left the store happy. I found everything I was looking for, got help when I asked for it, had a really nice and polite cashier, who asked paper or plastic and bagged my groceries. None of that impersonal self checkout, where when you have a issue, the other store,just leaves you standing there until they decide it's convenient to come over and assist you. And I wasn't barked at by a store associate,who only phrase to you is "Cash, Card , or Both". So Food Lion at Bennington Place, thank you for a great shopping experience and you have gained a new customer in SE. I appreciate being treated with respect and not like a unwanted nuisance like I was constantly at the other two locations of Walmart. Thank you again.
