The store is always cluttered, junky and in complete disarray. shelves are rarely stocked they close whenever they want the floors are always nasty. The employees will let the self checkouts back up and will not open a register to get people out. This store has truly gone down hill since Danny left.

I visited this store several times in the last month and every time it is a mess! Stuff is thrown around everywhere and you can't figure out what the price is of things because a lot of stuff isn't priced and it's not in the correct place on the shelf so you have no idea what you're getting! It's very frustrating! I was trying to find little toys to put in my grandkids gift bags for Valentine's Day and it was simply ridiculous to try and find anything! The two employees that were working were very nice but they need someone to manage that store and get it in shape! I used to love that store but have been disappointed the past year or so when I have visited.

We went to get a few things at this location today. My 16yo son was looking at deodorant, opposite end of the aisle from his dad. He opened several deodorants to smell them, putting each one back in place afterward. He never removed the protective plastic between the deodorant and the cap. The night manager walked by him and said, "Don't touch anything unless you are going to buy it." His dad hears her and asks her what she said. Of course, she wouldn't repeat herself. Instead, she said, "He can't open the deodorant because of COVID." The situation ended in a very confusing discussion over why my kid could not TOUCH anything without purchasing it. Later, after my purchase was made and my husband and son were out the door, I circled back to speak with the night manager, Rae. She completely denied being rude to them and was hyper focused on him opening the deodorant and smelling it. I never cursed at her or got loud with her. However, she insisted I leave because I asked if her issue was really with the deodorant or the fact that he was a black teenager who seemed to be alone? She may be taking her NIGHT MANAGER position a little too seriously, and she is too quick to stereotype someone to be in a management role.

This store is always closed. Doesn't open until they decide - sometimes not until 10 am - no store hours posted and has been closed during lunch hour. Went by there tonight and was closed at 645 pm. They may need to look at hiring people! My friend applied - good working person and was never interviewed! Defininately need to improve on service!!

I am currently in Roanoke to train some stores for my company. The Manager, Lynn. was awesome!! I needed to stock up on some supplies for myself and the local store that I am working at. Lynn was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of where I could locate everything that I needed. I was in a hurry so she assisted me so I could find things that I needed in a timely manner. Lynn was was so pleasant, helpful and kind and as a faithful Dollar General customer, I was very impressed on how neat and clean this store was. I actually complimented her on on the organization and cleanliness of this store, based on the bad experiences at other stores.Just before I left we had a quick chat. She is an extremely responsible manager and cares about the store and the customers. Dollar general needs more people Lynn!!

In my opinion.. the best Dollar General in the Roanoke Area. It is always a pleasant experience, and we leave there happy with our purchase. Add in the digital coupons, as well as the $5 off $25 weekly is a great help at saving money. We shop there at least 3 times a week for sales items. The store is always clean, and well stocked. Management works hard, and are always friendly. I've had to do a few returns due to the system not being correct on prices but , they have always taken their time out to fix the problem (by the system not the store!) I'd like to recognize Danny, Brandon, and a few of the others who have been there for awhile. We sure do miss Lynn! Great employees, Great store, Great prices, and most definitely caring customer support!

I usually don't have any issues when shopping here. My last trip ruined it for me. I found a couple of throw blankets that were normally 15.00, but they had 3 HUGE signs with 50% off. Got to the register, they rang up full price. I let the cashier (Megan) know about it. She walked over to them and ripped the signs down! I did not get the discount, not even for one of them. I received no explanation about it at all. She mumbled something walking away from me! She was just being very rude. I work in Customer Care, so I know how it is. Just can't believe the way I felt leaving the place!

Well at time the cashier would not be at counter when needed and would talk to much to the customer when having a long line. But the pricing was decent

Bathroom is nasty. Drain flies flying around, toilet paper rolls strewn on the floor, no paper towels. The doors don't lock despite a sign that says "see an associate for a restroom key." The small employee restroom at my last fast food joint was cleaner and it wasn't open to the public. Just nasty. Makes me wonder about the rest of the store.

A bit to trustworthy unless they have cameras in the back i don't know about. Overall the most amazing experience I've ever had with costumer service and cleanliness except for the fact that they allowed me to use the restroom in the back. Now personally of course i was thankful but as i walked back i only thought of how easy it could be to grab things from the store thats stored in the back. You have to walk far back into that storage area to get to the bathroom anyone can claim getting lost. I just think with the area its located it should be more watched. I might be wrong and there may be cameras i just thought i should at least say something. But again overall best experience in a dollar general by far.

I have came to this Dollar general 10 different times and every time the doors have been closed and locked and locked it's becoming an extremely bad habit for them to constantly be closed while the hours are saying that they're open the lights were on and there is no close sign this is been an occurrence since the middle of summer and 2022 and I hope that they fix this issue

This place is horrible. They never have anyone working, they don’t operate on appropriate hours, the woman I assume is the manager (because nobody has a name tag) is extremely rude. They need to get themselves together.

How is it that I live right next to this store and it is never open!? All your signs and times are clearly wrong, at least notify your customers correctly. I'll Just go on to another store its gotten so ridiculous!!!!!!
