Bruster's Real Ice Cream

I came to Brusters a while back with my family. I stopped coming because a scoop of ice cream was more of a kid-size scoop than an actual scoop. I decided to return today thinking that maybe it was the employee that scooped less. I was wrong. The sizes is their scoop are very small. I had the same issue today. I don’t think it’s worth the drive or the price to come back. I’m sticking to Blue Cow. I see several reviews on issues with the size of the scoop. Please correct this.

Ice cream is good but the sizes are ridiculous. Even if you order one scoop it’s the smallest scoop you’ll ever get. Disappointed that there is nowhere to eat inside.

Love the vibe at this place. Really good ice cream! I like that there are always a bunch of flavors, and they've got something for each one in my family! Er'body happy! Been here quite a few times since we moved here, and they have consistently friendly service!

I tried a number of their flavors and they are all very good. Their combinations are interesting and the ice cream is always creamy, fresh and delicious. Their Banana Cream Pie ice cream stood out to me and is my all time favorite! I am even on a “notification” list so when it’s on rotation, I am one of the firsts to know it has been made.It’s awesome to have such a high-quality ice cream place close by. Just try some and you’ll agree it’s better than anything you’ve tasted.

The seasonal strawberry shortcake was great! I substituted the vanilla with New York cheesecake ice cream and it was perfect. All of the ice cream I've had over the years has always been good and the prices are reasonable.

This place is always so good and a must stop whenever I'm in Roanoke. The ice cream is good and they let you customize your banana splits. I opt out for pineapple topping and replace it with hot fudge. The bananas are always fresh not mushy (bleh). Overall, no complaints. :)

One scoop should mean one scoop no matter if you call it “kid” or “adult” portions. If you want 2 licks of ice cream, order 1 scoop for $4. The service was great and friendly, got me my ice cream fast. I was in town from NY and wanted to try their vegan ice cream but although it was on the board, they were out. So I got 1 scoop of Oreo. Flavor was good, was already melting when I got it and it was 60 outside so not hot. Just really shocked at the portion size. Kid size should be listed as 1/2 scoop because 1 scoop is 1 scoop everywhere else.

I used to really like the ice cream here, but it was just ok today. Maybe I should have stuck with the chocolate raspberry truffle. My husband liked his flavor--- Jamaican Me Crazy. I had Key Lime Pie and Peach Melba.

Great service! We were in quite a long line but only waited around 5 mins to order And our ice cream was out around 3 mins after paying. I was looking for a gluten free option and though they don't list completely gluten free options, I found options for my kiddos with no issues(gluten sensitive). We enjoyed a sweet treat for a decent price on a great day. Perfection!

The 1st time here in a while, they did not have neighter of my 1st or 2nd choice. My wife ordered 2 scoops, I ordered 3, mine had less than her cup.The young man fixing our order had long curly hair and no hair net while leaning over the cooler. Now I remember why we don't go here often.

Bruster’s used to be great but the last three visits have been really subpar. Scoop portions are ridiculous, 3 scoops isn’t equivalent to even 2 and each of the last visits ice cream was melted considerably when handed to me . Chocolate shakes were runny & barely any chocolate flavor. Not acceptable! Time to find another shop for ice cream!

lets start on the positive side fast service and nice personnel. Ok now the rest. this is now my 3rd visit. 1st visit everything was quick easy and right. Second visit What I assume is the manager gave me low key guff for not telling him that our order was to go. Then again I ordered 2 malts and 3 sundaes in waffle bowls and 2 pup sundaes(which they offer free which is great). That time the orders we right but again not asking if its to go and then given the customer guff on that is poor. Now 3rd visit and though I didn't think it was possible we go the make your own sundaes. We ordered 3 custom waffle bowls and none of them were assembled. Listen I get if the product doesn't fit a item or two not on the ice cream might be ok but, nothing but ice cream in the bowl on 3 waffle bowls and 9 cups of assorted toppings on the side. Isnt the point of a ice cream shoppe to enjoy prepared ice cream. If I wanted to assemble all the toppings at home I would have saved money and went to kroger and bought everything in parts. SMH I want to scream but, I refuse to do that to food service workers. I guess I need to find somewhere else to go. Never though I would be happier with a Dairy Queen.

I feel so ripped off. The scoops are the size of golf balls and you’re pressured to tip 20% for absolutely nothing. If you plan to go get ice cream with the family you better bring a $100 with you. I’m never going back!

Ordered a Strawberry Shortcake and it barely had any Ice cream . The whip cream was messy all over it, the cherry was on the side and when the young man gave it to me he said it was messy. It was the worst Strawberry Short Cake that I have ever had. He needs to Dance less and have some Pride, Food Presentation and about Serving Customers.

Such a waste of money. My wife asked for a waffle cone bowl and she got a cup instead so that's false advertisment 2nd of all I got a waffle cone and they gave me 2 scoops and sat on top of the empty cone. The inside was completely hollow and had no ice cream so I pretty much ate ice cream with a empty cone. What a rip off!!! Not worth my money!!! Very dissatisfied!!!

Bruster's ice cream is a great spot for ice cream. It's a good place for family to go get ice cream after a day out or after dinner. It's like those cute little ice cream shops that people gather around during the summer in movies. The staff is very patient and friendly and offer samples if you're stuck between flavors. We really like their cotton candy and that's usually our go to. They have rotating flavors so once something is gone, it's usually gone.

Stopped for aone of my favorite Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ice cream and was told there's a raspberry shortage so they don't have it right now. Made a different choice and was not disappointed. Very nice people, very good ice cream!

The ice cream here is soooo amazing. I love there ice cream but the shakes are a little liqudiy. And the prices aren't that bad. It's a good place to take the kids for a family fun trip to get ice cream. They have a few options on the menu. They also have a good reward system. They also have a pup cup for dogs to enjoy ice cream.

Vegan ice cream is so hard to find in the Roanoke area. I went here with family, not expecting to order anything. Much to my surprise, they had two vegan options! I ordered the strawberry banana, and was pleasantly surprised! Serving sizes are HUGE, so go small -- I couldn't even finish a single scoop serving.
