1 Prognosis: good2 Client Education: Discussed physical exam findings. Discussed heartworm test was negative todayso we administered proheart which is good for 6 months. Discussed flea/tick prevention, recommendedsimparica. O consented. P was positive for ehrlichia - chronic positive. Discussed that werecommended increasing Ps dose of traz and gaba ( in pp notes). P was not aggressive today, but whenwe got her out of the kennel to start her exam she panicked as i was listening to her heart, we weregently restraining by holding her leash and she was muzzled, and P jumped in the air and threw herselfdown on the ground violently and thrashed and slammed herself on the ground multiple times. Wewere able to get a blanket over her and restrain her, but she hit her lip, caused a small vessel in herright sclera to rupture and had several drops of blood tinged discharge from her nose. Werecommended higher doses of sedatives prior to vet visits. O agreed. This is the added note to my pups account.after this event, i refused to allow my babies to go in the back ALONE ! i requested to have in- room appointments ONLY . the vet tech agreed this would be better for everyone . 2/6/20223 i arrived for the in-room appointment that was made 2 week prior by a Banfield staff member !!!! ONLY to be told that this office does not allow in-room office visits due to a covid-19 policy. i then called the corporate line to fine out there is not such policy !!!!! OMG I was soooo mad !!! the store manger (Virginia) is uneducated in this line of work. she has placed me on hold for long wait times. still waiting on recorded request as of 2/7/20223

2/6/2024 6:34 PM Miscellaneous Home Care Instructions documented for this visit/hospitalization: (Reported by most recent date first) Date None Type Report ID: MedSummary.en.x Time Printed: 9:12 PM Osburn, V. 0677 Roanoke N Shortly after leaving, o called the hospital. I answered the call to help the front desk, and O had me on a 3 way call with OWP relations associate from corporate. The owner shared that she "came in for an appt and was told by associates that she could be seen in a room with both pets" She said Dr. Tarah told her this 6 months ago and the gentleman that talked to her to schedule also confirmed they were inroom appts. She then shared that she was told when she got in today that COVID policy does not allow us to do in room appts. The corporate associate then shared that "this is not a corporate policy and we can perform in-room appts" The owner then stated we "lied to her face". The owner then stated multiple times that we "refuse to see her pets appropriately and have charged her several times for other services". I then stated to O that as veterinary professionals treating patients, there must be trust between doctor and their client which is not present in this situation. I shared that verbally abusing staff is not tolerated. The "corporate associate" shared that as a practice we will be adjusting off her OWP for her troubles. I shared that ultimately that is my decision and based on all previous interactions including today's, we will be cancelling OWPs for Lillith and Mazikeen at our cost and she can seek care elsewhere where she can have a better client relationship. The owner then shared that she has gotten her pets back with bloody noses, bleeding lips, and busted eye vessels and will "gladly" take her pets elsewhere. She thanked the "corporate associate" and shared how much help she was. At this time, the "corporate associate" told the owner how it is her job to help her and shared her name and spelling. During this call, they were continuing to talk bad about my hospital, so I hung up. I immediately called Banfield Cares team and shared all information about case. They agreed based on all previous notes and interactions that discontinuing care is best. Adjusted off rest of OWP payments through CTSEnough said * this was the added note from my last visit. GLAD TO BE LEAVING

They always answer my questions and take very good care of my dog. They have great wellness plans for pets to make sure they stay healthy.

We left Banfield 6 months ago because they did not know what was going on. We went to a new vet only to discover that our dog had cancer and needed surgery. This is all due to the treatment she received at Banfield. We nearly lost her. Now I am forced to continue to pay for a health plan that I will never use because I don’t believe my dog received good care. IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PET STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD FACILITIES

Good with my dogs I reckon but outrageously expensiveMy ten year old red bone coonhound just died two weeks after seeing them. He had a stroke and several seizures. I would have thought blood work would have known this was comming.I really just don't know what to think of these people anymore.

We use this vet all the time but after today not sure if we will continue. Took both our dogs in today for a check up and a few shots. The lady at the desk said the price was going to be $246 and some change. My wife goes back to pick them up comes home and said it was over $500. The price is not a problem but that's a HUGE difference from what I was told. Then my wife needed to schedule a follow up and my wife said the lady was hesitant to tell her that one was going to be over $600. My wife said schedule it and the lady seemed surprised cause she said that and reiterated it was going to be $600. My wife said ok? Schedule it. I don't know but maybe they need someone up front who knows what they are talking about and confident in what they are saying and not assume someone cannot afford something. Our dogs together the 2 of them were over 10 grand. Don't assume! We def can afford it! BUT PLEASE know what prices you are giving before you give it.

I’ve had positive interactions with staff, but I’m going to be discontinuing my dog’s wellness plan and moving to a different Vet. 3.5 years in to COVID, but they are still using COVID as an excuse to not allow owners into pet appointments. I understand the severity of COVID & would be open to wearing a mask in appointments. Most other businesses (including my cat’s Vet) are seeing people in person. With a senior dog who’s health is only becoming more complicated, I need to be in the exam room with my dog so that I can ask questions and stay informed to keep him healthy and happy for as long as possible. Unfortunately, my cat’s Vet only sees cats so I’m not certain where I’ll be taking my dog - but for my dog’s sake, I won’t be continuing here.

Dr. Tarrah and her staff are extremely caring and very busy. Appointments are best, although we received quick attention and excellent care for our large dog at our initial encounter under urgent care conditions.

Banfield has been our vet of choice since moving to Roanoke. I’ve never met a group of people more kind and compassionate when caring for our beloved dogs. They are always able to help and if mistakes happen, they quickly do what needs to be done to fix them. I appreciate their honesty and integrity and will continue to utilize their services as long as we have four-legged family members.

I have used Banfield in Roanoke for over 14 years. They really care about your animals . The doctors give you as much face to face time as you feel you need. They truly are caring and compassionate. I would give them a 10 on a scale of 1-5 if I could. If looking for a vet this is the place.

Three visits and a neutering and spading surgery on my two beautiful kittens MAXIMUS and Esther they have earned the 5 star rating in my book. TOP CARE all the way around. You have to try them to believe. They made a happy believer out of me even when I didn't know who Banfield Animal Hispital was. My Army buddy introduced me to them when Nash his pitbull was in need of medical attention as Nash was very old. They impressed me on how they took good care of Nash. I am extremely happy with Banfield Animal Hospital.

Brought my recently adopted senior dog here as a new client, and I was impressed by how friendly all of the staff were and how efficient the process was during COVID. You wait outside and call, and the vet and an assistant will come out to meet you, where you can discuss your visit and any needs you have. Dr. Snuffer was so friendly and courteous and was able to address any concern I had while also outlining all my options for continued care. A wellness exam to establish care took around only 10 minutes, and the price was great too.

So far they've been great. We just started with them 2 months or so. They've diagnosed a good allergy issue with one of my boys that we couldn't figure out and been patient with my extremely nervous guy.

Unfortunately, I came here to put my ferret to rest. After finding no one in the area that was open late after getting off, this vet allowed my husband and I to come during this difficult time. I was able to hold her during the process, stay until I composed myself, and able to take her back home so that I could make my arrangements. I am tryly thankful to them.

I can not say enough great things about Dr. Tara and the staff that I dealt with here. Even though the outcome was having to lose a family member (our dog), the support and care they gave to her and to us was simply amazing.

My husband and I recently moved to a new house here in Roanoke. We had two older dogs who we feared would not handle this transition well and unfortunately we were right. My sister highly recommended the Banfield Pet Hospital based on her experiences, even though she lives in SC. I needed an appointment fast and over the weekend. Banfield was one of only a few in Roanoke who could accommodate weekend hours and were one of the only vets in the area that even provided website scheduling. We have continued to use them as our primary vet care. They have done a fantastic job with both our dogs. They treat humans and animals with such grace and respect. I could not have asked for more. BUT as a bonus, we feared the cost of weekend appointments might just break our bank and IT DID NOT! We were shocked at how reasonable their services are and love the fact that we leave the appointment with meds in hand. I literally could not recommend them more.

I feel like they generally care. The staff is kind and caring. A few seem generally knowledgeable. But that's only half the ballgame. The more important issue (as I see it) is they seem to have a general competence issue when it comes to the basics of running a business and even in some cases healthcare matters in general.Wanting to order pointless tests (often expensive) that seem to lack a basic understanding of the description as described for example (IE missing key details relayed). In health care that is simply unacceptable.Getting pretty tired of hearing "it was the internet" when I know full well they are just are not reading their emails to state another example.BTW. Pro TIPDon't tell me the internet is down when your calling me using a IP/based SIP based telephone. Little hint there. Or to put it another way. Your phone requires an active internet connection to function. 😮💨Also going on vacation for a week (while certainly your entitled to that) not having a plan or backup in place for all your patients you left hanging out to dry in an emergency is also unacceptable. This issue is about communication / coordination. And being better than a time clock. For me the matter is simple. If your just in it to collect a check at the end of a day then stay away from my animal. Plain and simple. It's not a easy job, health care is not easy. Full StopIt takes a exceptional person with endless stamina who would happily volunteer to put the work in. If that doesn't describe you then don't waste my time. Just as if you were a EMT or police officer or a soldier this work is not for everyone. This job is only for exceptional people. So enough with the BS'ing me when you screw up. Own your mistakes and move forward. I will find that much more respectable.I expect better from healthcare. Pet or otherwise. These are not burgers at burger king. They are living creatures and family members. As a result at this point I am strongly considering taking my pet elsewhere.

Had a pretty negative experience. I needed to give my cat a check-up because she started showing symptoms for tapeworms. The expenses for everything was close to $200 because they diagnosed her with random little things as well like minor gingivitis, and complained about my cat not being friendly about administering treatment and even refused to physically give her the medication she needed. It seemed like they had no experience working with cats at all. Whose cat is composed at the vet? She's being boarded for the weekend, and the staff made the person whose taking care of her do the treatment for them. However, they did not communicate that to me at all when I checked out. Very unprofessional as well. I made a comment about being late for work but was being polite because I dont believe in rushing people. The lady at the front desk made a comment that it was "so much more difficult for her." Would not recommend. There are better, more reasonable vets in Roanoke.

Just another number on their revenue pile. They are very nice in general but I never saw the same doctor twice. Their program for pet health automatically renews and they did not tell me when I signed up so when I decided to no longer go there they still charged me for an extra 2 months.
