I do love a good Aldi and maybe im spoiled by moving from a larger city where there is more than just one. I've already messaged Aldi corporate that I feel like Roanoke needs another Aldi, they are already expanding the parking lot for this location because so many people visit this one. I've shopped during multiple different days of the week and it seems like every time there is something not in stock at this location. At first I thought this was due to not enough staff at this location but after observing just how many people come to this location to shop I feel it's actually not enough product to satisfy customer demand. I attached some photos of shelves that I took over the past month. The Aisle of Shame I've seen things come into stock one week, and you better decide if you like it then and there because I've come back 3 days later to things just being gone. Opening another Aldi in this town would not only double the amount of business they get to sell, but just be another competitor for Krogers monopoly. Love my Aldi, I just want another 💕

The store was busy with shoppers and associates busy stocking shelves. The store looked clean and maintained, with some products out of place on the shelves. Most items were shelved with similar items, but displays were in strange locations, such as onion mix in with juices. The non food "find of the day" aisle was very disorganized and looked like it had been heavily shopped. This aisle is renewed weekly with different items, which probably lead to unattended look. Overall, I recommendAldi for unusual foods, excellent cheese, wine and international selections. The cashier was very fast, efficient and helpful. Bring your own bags and a quarter, which you get back, for when turning in your shopping cart!5/5/2023The store was much more organized than the last time I shopped about a year ago. The shelves were nicely organized, well stocked, and easy to access. Even though food prices are high everywhere, I noted several items that were significantly cheaper than the larger grocery nearby! (See photos) The store was busy, but clean and all associates I noted were working hard stocking, organizing, or helping customers. Overall, it was a very pleasant shopping experience and I need to shop here more often! I always see such kindness when shoppers help others when finished with a cart and giving it to another, and refusing the quarter! It's great to "pay it forward"!

I've known ALDI brand pretty well from Europe, so I was really curious how it's going to be and look like inside the ALDI grocery here in the US. I wanted to see what products will I find there, and so on. And of course there are hardly any European or German brands either. Mostly typical American products, which you usually get at many other groceries. But I found some German beer, at least something. 🇩🇪🍻😉🤘🏻 Overall it's a nice grocery, way smaller than e.g. Kroger, therefore I like it. It's easier to find what you need, faster to do the entire shopping, shorter queues to register, etc. Good call to go there today. I think I'll be visiting ALDI more often here in the US than at home in Poland.😂😂👍🏻

We've been shopping at Aldi the last few weeks. It's definitely cheaper than Kroger and the same (if not better) quality. Thankfully when we've been, the aisle of shame (iykyk) has been picked over so I don't end up buying extra stuff I may not need.

I love my local Aldi. I find the staff friendly and it's conveniently located. However I will sometimes have to stop by multiple times to get my preferred type of bread and milk because stock can vary but honestly that's everywhere these days.If you've never been to an Aldi here are some pointers:Bring a quarter to borrow a cart, you get your quarter back when you return the cart. The carts are oversized like you might find at a warehouse store like Sam's Club or BJ's or Costco. The store runs on a small crew so often there is only one cashier but they move fast and call for help when needed but if you go during a peak time like lunch time, around 5pm, or on the weekends be prepared to wait a few minutes in line to check out.You have to bag or box your own groceries so come prepared. They don't have plastic bags either but you may purchase paper or reusable bags. The Aldi Finds aisle aka The Aisle of Shame is full of interesting things you never knew you needed. Approach with caution. There are very few name brands and most goods are significantly cheaper while maintaining quality. Also they do not accept coupons.

There were no buggies available and only seen 2 in the store being used. Products knocked off and just laying in the floor. Produce looked terrible. This location was horrible. I have heard alot of good things about Aldi so I haven't given up on them but that location was a joke.

The store and the products are fine. I’m giving a low star because the parking lot is extremely dark. Some lights overhead are burned out .when I alerted the Aldi Facebook group they sent me on a Link hunt to report a problem. There was no such link so try to shop there during the day. There are a lot of homeless people in the area, not the place you want to be ..out, pushing your cart and loading your car alone at night in a dark parking lot!

We spend less at Aldi but have to make sacrifices on some brands we prefer. Most annoying now is the self checkout initiative. Used to be very fast checkout. With self checkout, we depend on our fellow shoppers checkout speed..which can be a bad experience.(and was, this last time).Self checkout for 10 itemsis fine but not for basket fulls. Kill it, or modify it, Aldi

This location is getting worse and worse recently. Needs some serious attention. Not being that clean is an issue but being poorly stocked AND unclean is very bad scenario for a grocery store. Maybe Management needs to step in here and pay more attention to the store. I enjoy Aldi but last couple months the store has been subpar to say the least.

I've known about Aldi from the time I was a kid in IL, one of the few stores in the United States at the time. This store is stocked well. Don't ask questions from the staff. They either don't know anything or are rude in their response. Couldn't get a cart because they were busy at the time, several carts were sitting unused at checkout lanes that we also unused, we tried to get one and was yelled at.

I've been trying to just buy cookies here for 2 days now. Each time there's 5-10 people with buggies of stuff and 1 open register. I don't have 30 minutes to waste for this.Prices are good, tho.

Great prices and cheaper than many stores. You just need to bring your own bags. I shopped here more often. They're selling ducks and German products

I love this ALDI location! The staff are very consistent so it’s nice to get to see the same faces weekly. Always very helpful if you are trying to find something. ALDI is different than a normal grocery store - you bag your own groceries and use a quarter to get a cart (which you get back when you return the cart). This can be a little intimidating the first time but it is worth the extra “work” for the super low prices for quality food.

I just had to come in here and take the time to write this review. I am a new customer and I am so impressed with your employee Shawn! He was extremely helpful on the floor as well as checking us out at the register. My kiddo was having a bit of a rough time and he took his time helping put him in a better mood. He was very knowledgeable and just all around made our experience enjoyable! Thank you Shawn for your kindness and offering our so a blanket while we were shopping!

Sean is the best worker I’ve ever encountered, he went above and beyond and went out of his way to make sure I got sufficient help

The prices are good and the food is quality. I can’t say anything good about the employees. Prepare to be told how stupid you are if you make a mistake at self checkout. Also you have to have a quarter to get a cart but the self checkout doesn’t take cash go figure. Stupid concept.

Aldi is our go to grocery store for big shopping trips. It is not extremely convenient for quick trips but has amazing prices and service. I can’t get over how quickly I can get in and out with most everything I need. There are some items that sell out so if you go later in the day or certain times on the weekend you may not find everything you need but is so worth it.

Store is fabulous. Great food. Been going to Aldi for years. I am all for efficiency, but I am sick and tired of being yelled at every time I’m in the line to check out to insert my card. Most of the time I don’t even know what the total is they’re just charging it. The lady today just throw the receipt at me.

I love Aldi’s because they have great prices and great options. But I must say, some of the staff are pretty rude and have nasty attitudes, specifically Tahiem, the cashier. He seemed to be nicer and kinder to people that were caucasian. As a minority that was disappointing to witness him be discriminating towards otherminorities. He didn’t greet us, but he greeted other customers with smiles. He was not compassionate to us and it was our first time here. It felt very uncomfortable and I will definitely do self check out IF we come back. I love Aldi’s but will not ever approach him again. Disappointed with his service as an employee.

Food items cheap, self check outs. You have to box your items or buy reusable bags for 10 cents and bag yourself. Buggies deposit 25 cents and get deposit back when bring buggy back. Good place to shop

Decent place. Recently installed self checkout so it drops the rating substantially as it drops service to the customer substantially.
