Unstopped a toilet, 2 hours later had to use a plunger. Charged $190. When I called back I was told it was working when the plumber was there. I asked for an estimate to replace the toilet and the charge if further work was needed. Was promised an estimate, never received. Called back the next day, was promised a call back in a few minutes. Between customer service, knowledge of the job and services done I can say that I’m very pleased. This plumber, Chris, was able to diagnose the problem and fix it the same day. He explained everything and was so respectful. From calling to payment everything took about 2 hours. I will most definitely be sharing this company to others.

**I originally rated this business without leaving details explaining my rating. Upon seeing the owners response to my one star rating, I now see that the details behind my poor rating are being requested by the owner for the public to see. I contacted Master and Sons Plumbing inc. because my water well ran dry and I needed my house to be connected to the county water meter. I lived out of state at the time of scheduling this work to be completed. I got on the company's schedule and later in the week received a call from the owner when the work was complete. The company emailed me the invoice and I unfortunately paid in full without seeing their quality of work. when I pulled into the driveway the first thing I noticed was the big trench across my front yard that was never backfilled or compacted. I checked under my house where the main water line comes in and noticed that they failed to bypass my old well equipment which was in the scope of work to be completed. Master and Sons Plumbing inc. is overall a shady company and I would never recommend anyone to do business with them.

Work was done quickly and efficiently, however their practices as a company are rough. They never gave an accurate depiction of the price involved in the repair. And never explained payment options. My company received an invoice via email, and the next business day we received a phone call requesting payment. After explaining my company pays 30 days out as most real estate companies do I was put on hold and patched over to the owner. We explained "if you had read the invoice it's COD we don't have an account with you" this was never explained prior to the work done. I explained I will reach out to My accounting department and see what I can do about getting immediate payment. Immediately after this he thought that he had hung up, and then proceeded to cuss and belittle my company and myself while I was still on the other line listening to them entire conversation.Would not recommend doing business with a company who's owner can be this unprofessional.

We had gotten a few estimates from several plumbing businesses. Master and Sons was responsive and able to give us a quote pretty quickly. When Daniel and Kernel came to give the estimate, they quickly assessed the situation and provided a fair estimate. Daniel negotiated with the owner to give us a better rate, which we greatly appreciated. Lastly they performed the work quickly and accurately and cleaned up any mess that was left.As it turns out we need some additional work done to our valves and Daniel provided what I thought was another fair estimate for this work. We hope to utilize their services again soon and it is nice knowing that there is a reputable business we can utilize for future plumbing needs.Services: Toilet installation, Faucet installation

The hotel where I work - Baymont Inn and Suites, lost hot water. I made the mistake of calling two other local plumbing companies, who just wasted my time and said it would be days before getting service. Lou, a Master plumber with Master and Sons Plumbing, was at our hotel within two hours of my call. He serviced our tanks and got them up and running within the hour. Lou took our emergency seriously and was quick on the scene. Coming all the way from Richmond to Prince George county. A true professional. Master and Sons will be our first call from now on. Prompt, professional service is rare these days. But not with Master and Sons.

I used this company about 7 years ago in an apartment complex to repair a main trunk line and install new pvc pipe. In addition to other repairs over the years costing thousands- now having to cut out about 40 feet of pvc piping they installed that was incorrect. The connections to the trunk line were incorrect, not secured or strapped properly. The branch lines weren't properly done either. Blue glue was insufficient on pipe connections. Would recommend checking all their work before payment. Now it cost me quadruple the amount to fix everything since the first installation several years ago. When I contacted the company they said they didn't do the work and that the owner who did that work retired and sold the company. They claimed new people were running the company, found out it was the mans daughter running the company now.Services: Plumbing pipe repair, Sewer repair, Plumbing leak repair

I JUST FOUND THE MOST HONEST PLUMBER EVER.....I had a situation yesterday with my sink (at the time my kids were in there), I didn't want to take any chances if there was indeed a bust pipe. Searched and found Master and Sons Plumbing. When I called, the phone was answered, this gentleman immediately offered to face time with me to see what the issues was, because the water was not leaking at the time he indicated that he will come Monday morning (today). He came, looked at the pipes, found no leaks and because of his honesty, he was so good to not change me for the visit (I was ready to pay).... What more can I say either than WOW. Thank you Master and Sons. You will be my go to for plumbing needs and I will recommend you to anyone... THERE ARE STILL GREAT PEOPLE OUT HERE.

This company is the only one I will reach out to in the future for plumbing. Mr. Roady came over to check if I had any leaks. His honest assessment has saved me a ton of headache and sunk costs. Other plumbers were trying to upsell me on unnecessary work. The honesty and integrity I was shown will go a long way during the inevitable recession around the corner

i called master and sons plumbing on a tuesday night and the owner, Lou, picked up the phone himself. i was having trouble with my water heater and he himself replaced it quickly, efficiently, and at a great price. Lou and his crew are nothing but professional. They followed up with me the following week to make sure things were going smooth. i highly recommend any of, not only their plumbing services, but any household fixes.

Called Masters & Sons at 12pm because my water heater was on the fitz, the dispatcher told me someone will be here at 3pm but to my surprise I had a plumber calling me at 12:30pm to tell me he was on the way! The plumbers were fantastic & worked in a quiet, patient & respectful manner while in my home. The best part was that they left no mess to clean up for me & the pricing was WAY cheaper than what other companies were trying to charge me!! I will definitely be calling Masters & Sons for future plumbing issues & recommend to anyone & everyone with water heater or plumbing issues. Thanks guys!!!!!!

Do not use this company as your only option. There are more professional and diligent locally owned companies that will appreciate your business and follow through. Master and Sons are not prompt (and that is assuming they show up or return your call based on the promise they gave) or professional. They will quote a price for work that was not even thoroughly diagnosed. Beware!!! **************Part 2: 3/5/2015 My review is VERY REAL!!! The lack of professionalism and integrity of Master and Sons is why the access panel in my closet (that exposes the pipes to my bathtub) was not replaced when they improperly diagnosed my issue. Thankfully, I was able to seek another company who professionally and correctly diagnosed and fixed my issue. And lastly, this was a problem that happened last year that they called themselves “repairing”. What a joke!!! ****************Part 3 3/31/2015 your "threats" to report this to Google does not scare me! You company practices are sub par. If you had put as much time and attention into my issue as you have my review, then my review would have been five star!!!

I've had bad experiences in the past from other plumbers and contractors as most people have. Working with Master and Sons was a different, much better experience altogether.They're a smaller company and the work at my house was done by the Father and Son. We had all of our supply line pipes replaced in our house and the water heater as well (a lot of work to do in one day). There was a lot that could go wrong, but nothing did. They went way over and above... case in point, they insulated all of the new pipes under our house without being asked and even replaced our outside faucets and any valves that were old. Plus they were very pleasant to work with, fast, efficient, polite, even funny...I was very surprised.I fully recommend Master and Sons and will turn to them the next time I need a plumber.

My hot water heater after 15 years finally gave out late Saturday night. I reached out to Master & Sons Sunday and Lou was at my house in two hours. Unfortunately the heater could not be repaired and a new heater was not available on Sunday. Lou came back today(Monday) installed the new heater and by noon had hot water again!!! I had what appeared to be a small inactive leak on the ceiling over my tub. They came and investigated and did not think it was a plumbing leak. They offered some possible causes and recommended I call them back if it starts leaking again. There was no charge. Based in my experience I trust them and have added them to my contacts in case I need a plumber in the future.

I purchased a hot water heater on a Saturday, and the people who are contracted to put it in for Home Depot said they couldn't until Monday when it is supposed to be same day installation. I found Master & Sons plumbing on my own and was told they would send someone out to give me a free estimate within a couple hours. They came out for a FREE estimate on a SATURDAY and ended up doing the job in about an hour and a half for less than the other company's "starting price" on a Monday. Lou was very personable and professional; I highly recommend!! This coming from a military spouse whose husband was deployed during the time; needed help not a rip off company and help is definitely what I received! It was nice to be able to email my husband and tell him, "We now have a trustworthy plumber in the area!" Thanks Lou!!!!!

I want to first point out that I am not someone who typically types up reviews on the internet. However I feel the need to this time, because I would never have chosen this company's services if I'd read this first. Hopefully this will help other consumers to choose wisely.I called Master & Sons the Sunday before Christmas, because my sewer line had stopped draining. The one positive thing they did do was to get someone out promptly. The plumber was on site within 3 hours or so. It was determined that the main pipe between the city line and the house was clogged, probably due to a tree root. I asked the plumber how much it would cost to fix, and he quoted me an amount in the $3k range to get it fixed with a 1 year warranty. He also told me they offer a payment plan (his exact words) and that they would deduct "a couple hundred" from the total to deduct the fee for using the exploratory camera. I was mulling it over, at which point he said he would get the owner on his speaker phone so I could hear what he said. He called the owner, who very brusquely, and without me saying a single word, said "You tell him if he signs RIGHT NOW we will have it fixed by Tuesday." I had never even asked how long it would take, so I found it odd that he was applying pressure like this right from the get-go. In retrospect, I'm pretty sure that this was a sales tactic he was using to get a fish on the hook. That should have been a red flag and I should have stopped there. Unfortunately it was late in the afternoon on Sunday, I had to work the next day, and I didn't feel like dealing with any more plumbers, and since he was promising to have it done in two days, I went ahead and signed.I got a call from a woman the next day, who said she needed my payment information. I asked her about the payment plan that the plumber had mentioned. She said "you pay us half now and half when we finished." I replied that two payments wasn't much of a payment plan. She let out a sigh and told me to hold for the owner. The owner then picked up the phone, so I ask him about the payment plan option his plumber had mentioned. He just replied "we don't do that." I told him his plumber was under the impression that they did. So then he said they would do four payments and add on an extra $800(!) Once again, I should have stopped there, but I didn't. I begrudgingly put it on my Visa card.I got home Monday evening and nothing had been done, aside from the utility line markings. I called them Tuesday morning and was told they would get started on Tuesday and would be able to finish that day. I got home Tuesday evening and found an excavator sitting in my front yard, but no work done. The workers finally showed up on Friday and dug up SOME of the old pipe, leaving the rest of it exposed. They also destroyed my mailbox (broke the stand in half) and left it sitting in pieces in the yard without even a note. I called on Saturday and complained that the work needed to get done, and they finally had the new pipe in and connected by the end of the day Saturday. At that point I could at least run my water. For the next week I had a big hole bisecting my front yard, but I didn't complain because at least the plumbing was working. They showed up at the end of the week and covered up the hole.A week later they still had not been back to fix the mailbox or re-assemble the wooden planter box that had to be taken apart to access the pipe. However they *did* go ahead and charge my Visa the remaining amount. The only time they *ever* called me was to collect the money. I called the office again and told the lady about the mailbox and planter box. She said she would have the owner call me. As of a week later, no one has called.So now, a month after I first called them, it appears I will be fixing the mailbox and planter box myself, at my expense.My opinion: unless it's for a little job like fixing a leaky faucet, do not contact Master and Sons Plumbing. I can tell you quite assuredly that the only thing they care about is getting your money.

My husband called Master and Son's this morning to schedule an appointment due to our pipe leaking water as the washer drained. Louis and his assistance were able to come the same day, were punctual to the appointment, friendly and professional. The pipe was snaked and showed to have significant clogging, the pipe behind the washer was fixed to the correct height so that it would drain appropriately but when the washer was tested it leaked again. Louis and his assistant went under the house and noted our pipes were galvanized iron (we have a house built in the 60's) and over time the water must have caused the iron to rust and ultimately clog. They quoted a very fair price to change the pipe under the house to PVC and had it completed before I came home. Once I did a load of laundry it worked beautifully, no more towel piles to catch the water! They were very helpful and persistent in making sure everything was working properly, I would highly recommend Master and Sons Plumbing.Thank You!

Lou is a great guy, warm and professional. He has a standard rate that he applies to specific work, so if he quotes a price for a job, that's where it starts. But even with this pricing, his work is quick and clean. Master and Sons is a top choice for local work.
