Bradford enjoyed his stay as usual. Great care and personal attention. He’s glad to be home again but will be glad to be back at the next opportunity!

Great family oriented services. My babies get boarded and groomed here. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years and I’d dare not dream about taking them anywhere else. My dogs (Dutch Shepherd and a Yorkie) start turning in circles and whining as soon as we pull into the parking lot because of their excitement to go in! I have to tell them to stop it because it’s so annoying 🙄. It was so bad one day I had to call the owner because I was so tickled at their behavior. It’s like instant gratification for them and they know exactly where they’re at.I have recommended this place since I found it back when Paige was the owner, and now that her daughter Kris has taken over I still have the same stance! There’s no place better that I’d trust with my babies. So much so that even my mom started boarding her babies here.Great job to the team! You’ve gained a loyal customer for as long as I’m in the area!!!!

It’s taken me a long time to get over the loss of my dog Marley. We had been taking our dog there for several years without a problemIn April of 2023 we took Marley who was healthy, update on his vaccines and only 9 years old in for routine grooming and was called an hour later with the shocking and devastating news that our dog was DEAD!!!… We haven’t heard from them since that day!! No phone calls to see how we were doing! No sympathy card! Nothing!!!!!!GOING FORWARD I WILL NEVER TRUST MY DOG IN THIS FACILITY AGAIN!!!

We boarded our four dogs over Christmas and New Years' and they all came back happy, healthy, and full of energy! They loved the play time, ate their food (and treat!), and we loved how happy they were! Dog's Day Inn has great staff!

We’ve been bringing our dog here for 8 years and wouldn’t trust our dog anywhere else. She is always excited to be dropped off, loves all the people who work there and has a huge boost of confidence when we pick her up that lasts for days. We like to joke that she is going to her dog camp. We have toured other places in Richmond and nothing around here comes close in our opinion. It’s a huge relief having a trusted place like this.

For years we been using Dogs Day Inn to watch our dogs for extended stays and love them!! We have a large breed dog and trust Dogs Day Inn’s experience in handling our big dog and they have the space to accommodate our large dog. Highly recommend!! We also use them to groom our small dog.

I have been taking my 9 cats to Dog's Day Inn for 20 years. Long time client! I have NEVER been disappointed with anything concerning my beloved felines. So reading this review from a couple weeks ago and now this updated review from 6 days ago, my mind is just so confused. I'm just trying to understand where the abuse happened....also how messed up does one have to be to not understand when someone makes a mistake , referencing the wrong cats that were brought up to the people picking up that were put in THEIR carriers. Come on now, really? Is it that preposterous of a thing to have happen? Also, my cats have always come home in perfect, well-fed condition. For this person to state that their cats had not eaten for 5 days, is just a down right lie. I have dealt with Kristen and Haley almost every time I have brought my kitties their in the past year, and would never think of either one of them or any employee I've dealt with there as an incompetent person. I am just trying to figure out what the so called abuse was? And what exactly is this person grieving? Because to me, it just seems like they were upset because they had to pay for a service that they asked for ,over-reacted in a major way over a mistake that was made that probably happens all the time at boarding facilities (especially during busy holidays) and were given back a little extra food when picking them up. This review should be taken with a grain of salt in my opinion. I do believe there is a lot of dishonesty in what all was said in this review as well as cruel comments over an upset manager who was obviously being attacked by this customer.

Unsure of how this place is for boarding dogs, but let me STRONGLY encourage you to keep your cats away from this place. I boarded my cats for the Christmas holiday, in separate “condos”, both with bags of food, treats, and toys brought by me — I paid Dogs Day Inn a total $480. I called 3-4 times to check in on my pets during, and was told they were “fine.” Initially, this lack of detail about their stay made me uncomfortable, but I accepted that they were likely short staffed over the holiday and took what I was given. Upon arrival to pick them up 12/27/23, two cats that were not mine were brought up in MY carriers and given to me — unacceptable on it’s own, but the horrible job done by these employees was just beginning. Without even knowing which cats were mine, I sincerely doubt any of the updates I was given were accurate or done with care. I was not told at time of drop off that trimming nails would be $20 PER CAT by manager Haley who checked me in, and then charged for that at pickup. Manager Haley was there at the time of pickup, and admitted to myself and my mom that the price was not shared with me at drop off, but I was still charged the full amount. Toys that I brought for their “private” condos went missing with no explanation, and most of their toys and comfort items were never even removed from the bags i brought them in, still folded and arranged the way I left them days ago. The excuse given to me by both manager Haley and owner Kristen is that they have plenty of bedding and toys, so as to not get owned items mixed up in the laundry. I was told and even encouraged to bring my own items, and then fed excuses when no one decided to do their job and offer my babies their comfort items in a strange place. My elderly cat (and certified ESA) was not given her wet food, with more than 85% of what she was sent with being given back to me. Let me be clear, THESE PEOPLE WILLINGLY AND KNOWINGLY DID NOT FEED MY CAT FOR FIVE DAYS. An excuse was offered for not feeding my cat, but instructions were shared and written in the bag so as to leave no question. At every turn and with every mistake, I was met with incompetent employees and managers, and the owner Kristen as well. Zero solutions offered, zero accountability taken, and basic questions about the quality of their stay and care went unanswered by employees and managers, as well as owner Kristen. Manager Haley went so far as to go downstairs and cry instead of offering an apology or support like I hadn’t just left my babies in the hands of clearly incompetent people for almost a week. I was never offered an appropriate apology for this egregious mismanagement of my poor sweet babies, and told I would need to call myself to speak to the owner - horrible customer service management yet again. I am disgusted and will NEVER take my animals back to this cruel place, and I recommend you keep your kitties far away as well — no one should have to worry or grieve for their babies like this.I was contacted by owner Kristen on 12/28 and 12/29, fed more apologies, and promised a partial refund as a solution for abusing my pets by withholding their food during their stay at Dogs Day Inn. After this conversation, I have heard and received nothing else -- essentially told what I wanted to hear by owner Kristen, who backed and defended the incompetence of her own employees during our conversations. If not for the blatant abuse of my pets, avoid this place for the sheer incompetence from the top-down. This place will not care for your pets or take accountability regarding their inability to provide care.

We have used Dogs Day Inn for over 5 years and they treat Gaston as if he were their own family. He is always excited to go see his other furry friends, so he can play. I never have to worry when he is there, because I know he is being taking care of. The staff is very friendly and I wouldn’t even consider taking Gaston anywhere else!

I’ve taken Daphne to dogs day inn a few times for boarding and day care and always had a good experience but today they went above and beyond for me! A friend was going to board her for me and something came up literally at the last minute, dogs day inn helped me out with a 5 day board on the spot. I am so grateful and relieved they helped me out. Very much appreciate it. I did not catch the names of the 2 employees who helped me out this morning but big shout out to them as well!

I didn't board my dogs here. I went for a tour and I saw a few things I didn't like. For example, moving dogs from place to place by pulling them by the collar or by grabbing their neck scruff instead of using leashes. The size of the individual kennels and the kennel rooms. As far as the "air conditioned" kennels, it's actually a plug-in floor unit and an industrial floor fan (like the kind painters use to dry a house). This place may be okay for daycare but I wouldn't leave my dogs here while I'm on a trip.

We just started using this group this year and could not be more pleased. We have a 1 year old Great Pyrenees and he can be a lot at times. The staff takes excellent care of him and showers him with love and attention. Their grooming is top notch. But the most important part is that he eagerly goes right with a staff member when we arrive; this tells us all we need toKnow!!! Love them!!

Kristen was a world of help for me. My dog has been turned away from 2 different places to get her grooming done. They just did not take the time to create a connection with her. After 30 secs and her growling they just turned us away. I called and talked with Kristen for several mins prior to our appt. When i brought her in Kristen got down with me and my dog and was very kind and gentle with her. She asked me to pick up my dog and hand her over so my dog knows that it is okay to go with her. After they were done with the grooming they said that she calmed down and did pretty good. They did a wonderful job and she was very excited to have a nice haircut. Thank you for your help and patience with my dog.

I have no words to describe how happy I am with the grooming services here. The groomer is so patient & talented. She's able to give our feisty Pomeranian the teddy bear cut even though previous groomers advised they couldn't. They also take great care of our Yorkie, Pomeranian and Rottweiler when we go out town. Would definitely recommend Dogs Day Inn for all of your doggie needs.

We recently used Dog Days Inn to board our 7 mo old Golden Retriever for a week. They exceeded our every expectation! They were available by phone each time I called and I was always greeted and helped as soon as I walked in the door. Their facility is GREAT! Huge outdoor spaces for dogs to play, engaging staff that truly seem to enjoy spending time with the dogs. I picked him up freshly washed and groomed and it was apparent he really enjoyed his time there. We will only be using them for doggy daycare, boarding and grooming moving forward! Truly best in class operation!

We have used this boarding service on and off for the last 2 years. Our experience is always hit and then a miss. Today took the cake! We just picked up our dog and he has a big patch of hair missing on his back. He was either bitten or burned. I called and spoke to Kristin, the manager, and there was absolutely NO accountability or empathy. She said that the groomer pointed it out when she was blow drying him yesterday. Well, wouldn't you bring that to the attention of the owner? She tried to imply it was already there. I asked if he had been around other dogs and her response was "typically we don't have him out with others." Typically implies that you may have, this visit. My dog is also sick, vomitting and has diarrhea. I asked if he had any of these symptoms while he was there for 3 days and of course, per Kristin he did not. He was fine before we dropped him off! We used them back in November, no issues, so we thought we would try again. And I always tip well. But this time, we did not send our own bowls, which I forgot. It makes me question the cleanliness of the space and bowls and if that's the culprit for his upset stomach. I honestly had a bad feeling when I dropped him off this time, as he was shaking at check-in.. Not to mention the front desk lady is monotone and not very pleasant. I'm sad to see my dog in this predicament, and am spending the day before Christmas Eve, cleaning carpets due to him getting sick. We will not be patronizing their services anymore! They are easy to book with, and prices are reasonable. But with all the after effects, and lack of communication, you spend more in time and energy nursing your pet back to normal. No thanks!

Kash has been going to Dog Days for over a yr now and he loves it. It’s nice to be able to drop your pup off and not have to worry if they are being mistreated. Kash is always happy to go even before he knows where he is going. Grooming is also amazing, they always get him right after being matted. He always looks nice after each grooming.

Our boys loved it here! Love how you can see where the dogs will be staying. One of my dogs have a bit of separation anxiety. This is the first time he let a stranger take his leash! Everyone was nice, professional, and great to work with. My other dog was reluctant to come home! They will be back. Thank you!

First time boarding my puppy and he seemed to have a good time here. He stayed for a week and acted like we had only left him for a day. Only wish there were some pictures, cameras, or even email updates for dogs being boarded for longer periods. They were great about answering the phone and giving a verbal update though! I plan on using them again.

My dog has been going here for grooming since 2008, a few times per year. He gets a simple cut - nothing fancy. I have tried other places, but my dog always looks and acts better when he gets home from Dog's Day Inn. Now that he is a senior dog, I really appreciate the attention they give him. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a professional dog groomer at a reasonable price.

Our girls love Dogs Day Inn. Our vet recommended we use them for daycare a few years ago and we have never looked back. We use daycare weekly on and off(we have two high energy hounds), kenneling when needed and grooming once a month. Our dogs come home happy & healthy with big smiles. We are so glad to have found them!

They are great with my dog and he loves it there for daycare. They always great him by name and do an excellent job with grooming. However, every time I board him, he comes back with an illness. First he caught hook work from boarding, not once but TWICE. Now he has a respiratory infection. Not sure if they do a good job disinfecting their kennels but I’m torn. My dog has a great rapport with the staff and they treat him well but I can’t keep affording for him to get sick after boarding.

I went there to socialize my dog. Apparently she was anxious and they left her by herself all day. When I came to pick her up they told me, oh her paws are wet. We had to clean them because she had an accident. An accident? I was under the impression that she was outside? If there was an issue with my dog you should have called me to come and get her. Was she in a cage all day?

Worst experience ever, they left my 4 month old puppy there for 6 hours no water and no snack and they told me they were gonna have him ready within 3 hours. And on top of that when we picked him up his hair cut looked horrible nothing like the way I told them to cut it, they also hurt him when they cut his nails. I will not be coming back to this place

It was my first time boarding our dogs while on vacation, the ladies were awesome they were very organized , polite, and u could tell it won't just a job to them they actually have the passion for animals , the facility was very clean and well maintained. When I returned to get my dogs they were happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend and will definitely bring them back in the future. The cost was also very reasonable

Out of the three pet boarding/daycare places we have tried, this one is by far the best!! This was our first time bringing our dog there, and we will definitely be going back! The staff here is great and attentive, and when I picked up my dog from boarding he looked and smelled great! The staff there really took the time to do his bath/brush right!! It is a little out of the way for us, but we’ll worth it! This facility has 4 outdoor play areas, and temperature controlled kennels. If there is bad weather, the animals still have their own covered outside area to stretch their legs and get some air. They have luxury suites available, as well.
