Can access the store from 460 west or Main Street Rich Creek. Good parking with handicapped spaces. Clean aisles and friendly service. Will provide someone to help you out with your groceries if needed. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh.

For a store that had a four-star rating, I was shocked. All of the eggs were way past their best by date, so I didn't buy eggs. All of the milk was also way past its best by date, so I didn't buy that either. Tried going to the meat section to get something to cook and make a meal with, and everything was turning brown and also way past the best by date. When I say way past, I mean way past. We're talking two to three months here. What little bit I did buy, I made it a point to check dates before purchasing, and I heard the staff talking about how products in the store were "expired" as they called it while shopping, so they are well aware of the problem, but they weren't doing anything about it. Instead of removing the products off of the shelf so that people don't get sick, they were busy making sure that products were in the right place and neatly stacked. I am a manager at Sheetz. Anytime a product is past the best by, removing it is an immediate priority above all else, but that's not the case in this store, which was a little disturbing. They actually had meat in the frozen section that was three months past it's best by date, something I have never observed in any store until I came here, and I definitely won't be back. For anybody reading this, please check the dates before purchasing anything if you come here.

Prices were what you would expect in a small mountain town. Selection was pretty good, I do wish there was more produce though. Staff was exceptionally friendly and I had a pleasant shopping experience here.

What was once a booming grocery store has now become "that store with the deli". Some meat from the back of the store(not the deli) is out of date, at least when we shopped, and the location's definitely seen better days(read: 2012-2014ish). Still convenient, hence the 4-star rating, but it's slowly been losing it's prominence over the years.

Everything is expired. Meat is a week expired and a lot of the frozen meals in the back are four months expired. A lot of the food wouldn't even pass being given away to churchs or food pantry s. Be careful all and read the date of expiration. There only stuff within range are on the left side of the store. Produce has all expiration dates expiring within a week or the same day. Yogarts are within a week of expiration when they should be near 4 months out. All the meats are a few days expired up to two months. The orange juice is always a couple days expired because they only get that stuff once every three weeks. The avacados are all bad and so are the 🍊 oranges. I feel bad for the owner he cannot afford to keep the inventory up to speed let alone add the near expiration stuff as demoritization and depreciation and save as tax write-off by donating that stuff. You shouldn't knowingly restock expired stuff a fail attempt at making a profit because Jewell's loses money if they don't sell expired food. I predict Jewell's will be long gone within the next year or two and it will be an abandoned building or bought out by a small grants store. The location is horrible so I doubt any sensible business owner would waste their time when everyone else goes down the street to grants or Walmart for fresh foods.

They have a great hot food area. There is chicken everyday. They also have daily specials. The food has always been good, and the cooks are very friendly. Sometimes you can find good bargains.

There's a pandemic, and they're still there with the same hours when Walmart severely shortened theirs. Plenty of people were there to help get me checked out. There was no toilet paper or chicken, ha! But, I expected the TP situation. IGA, if you read this, please limit how much one person can buy. Thank you!

Still has that nice hometown feel...... prices are higher than your discount stores for sure, but the convenience more than makes up for it.... definitely worth checking out

From out of town visiting my sister, Carol Griggs. Always come to Jewells when I'm here. Nice store, friendly staff. Forgot to mention that Rich Creek is my home town. Moved to Charlottesville, Va when I was 14. Still consider Rich Creek "home".

Enjoy shopping here. It’s clean. I know where everything is. If they don’t have a product that you use, they will order it. Good meat selection.

Watch the produce, and the meat. There's a pattern of spoiled things being sold.

Sales tags are sometimes left up after sales expire, and this is misleading to people who might not shop there super often. Prices are also a little high on most things.
