We went directly in without a wait. I think we happened to be there at the right time. The service was great, the selection of beer and wine was large. The food was really good. I had the soft shell crab dinner which was cooked to perfection. The crabs were cooked crisp and were decent sized. The food is expensive, but so is everything in todays world.Parking: There was a big gravel lot with plenary of parking spaces.

The view is stunning! Reedsville, a small fishing town in Northern Neck, is alive with history. Beautiful old houses line the road to the water. And the restaurant at the end of your journey is well worth the trip! The Crazy Crab has great, fresh seafood and, did I mention the VIEW??Crab Cakes were the bomb 💣 and the Butter Beans were even better! 🤯 You can't go wrong with anything you order and the owner will make sure of that! Worth the trip from anywhere!!!!

On a beautiful day my friend and I decided to try a place we haven’t been so off to Crazy Crab we went. We were seated promptly albeit on a 4 ft wide dock edge. The place was vibrant with patrons , boats , and I heard a few dogs on docked boats. The views were pleasant , the day perfect. My buddy had been wanting Shrimp and Grits , I always try the Salmon, this time blackened. We both had salads which were fine I did the Ceasar . Our dinners arrived. The Grits was a generous portion, the Salmon not so much. I had the side of a veggie medley which was a bit overcooked n missed any flavoring, a bit disappointing. The Salmon had flavor, but was a bit undersized for the price I thought. I did really like the cucumber dill sauce for the Salmon. And yes, I tasted the Grits and found the dish to be pretty good. All in all it was just okay to me. I think the vibe, plus being able to get there by boat to eat ,also the water views, make it popular with the locals. I'm certain other items on the menu should be tried to discover their best dishes.I can see where drinks and appetizers would be a fun addition to an outing at Crazy Crab. The staff was plentiful, so the service was always there. For a nice waterfront dining experience give it a try!

What a delightful restaurant. Everyone was friendly and the food was amazing, from the onion rings and hush puppies to the main reason we went...the crab dip appetizer, ...the crab cake with almost no filler, and one of the daily specials was mahi tacos with nice size pieces of tuna in each taco. They also had the choice of shrimp or oyster tacos. My only complaint is that I was too full to go get ice cream down the street. My one suggestion would be to have a sampler platter of all three tacos as it was so hard to decide which one to choose. I think they were reasonably priced, and the wonderful view of the water as we ate made lunch even better. The owner had his own playlist on the speakers which was disappointing as I was hoping to learn a new Spotify channel. We will be back.

Great place for food and drinks. Excellent staff and the owners went out of their way to accommodate us during our over night stay. Slip fee is very reasonable ($1.50/FT and 30 amp service for an additional $7. 50 amp is available too). The bathrooms are nothing fancy but they are available with showers. They do have gas (non-ethenol) and diesel available. The town of Reedville is quaint with some beautiful older Victorian homes and a fisherman's museum. There is another restaurant within walking distance. We will definitely visit here again.

Omg! Everything was amazing. Warm and friendly. You must make a trip to Reedville to come to the Crazy Crab. Our server Elle was simply delightful and knew the menu inside out. Every bite was simply sinful. We will definitely be back soon!!Parking: Easy Parking

Servers were nice but understaffed, leading to long wait times for food and drink. Didn't seem to be their fault.Snow crab legs were really excellent. I can highly recommend those! However, the Captain's Platter was very disappointing. For $36, it was much smaller than anticipated. It only came with 3 fried shrimp, 3 scallops, one crab cake that was somewhat on the bready side and dried out, and fish that was essentially flavorless. The atmosphere is great though, being right on the water. And those crab legs were seriously yummy. Averaging it all together gives a 3 star experience.

I will start off by saying, the food was fresh and tasted very good! The beer selection was decent, I mean they don't have a hundred different beers, but they have the usual favorites. My bloody Mary was tasty! The waitress' and bartenders were all very friendly and gave great service! Oh and the blackberry cobbler was delicious! No complaints there. My chief complaint was the dinner portion verse the price for the entree. Hence the 3 star rating. All in all I'm willing to give them another chance.

What an awesome place with a great view! Unfortunately the hostess told us to go find a table outside and she'll be right there with menus. She never came and it took forever for someone to pay attention to us:( waitress were passing by back and forth like we did exist. Food was good but poor service. Sad

I had the salmon, tasted good but very small piece for the price. My husband had the smallest stuff shrimp that I've ever seen. My friend had the broiled seafood which also was a very small portion. Thank goodness the men got chicken Wings as an appetizers or they would have left hungry. My other friend got the soft shell crab which she said was great. And they said chicken Wings were good. Won't be going back.

The worst restaurant experience in the Northern Neck, my family and I were celebrating the Easter Holiday and decided to go the Crazy Crab for it's location and fair reasonable prices. Worst decision ever, never in my life have we experienced such a lack of professionalism from both the wait staff and the managers. Our party of 13 was front and center as we sat for 1 and 30 plus waiting for appetizers that never showed, our meals were unfinished or never brought at all. Pictured below is my uncooked crab cake. This place was a embarrassment to the Northern Neck. The kicker is for a busy Saturday night every table around us received great service and no complaints. All if this happened while management just watched and did nothing. Never again.

It was raining the day we happened up this place. It wasn't a planned visit but since our drive ended up in the parking lot we figured we would give it a try. The wait was about 30-45min to get a table. They said they would call us on the phone when it was time to come up. We realized our phones had absolutely no signal in that area. So, we had to linger around the front porch area in the rain. We had the captains platter, surf and turf, kids chicken tenders, and kids shrimp. The food was fresh and delicious, however the portions were smaller than expected. We were seated inside and the amount of people who were stuffed in there and yelling over each other was overwhelming and we couldn't even hear each other while sitting at the same table.

This is a very good restaurant on the water. The portions are large and all the seafood we have had there is delicious. It is worth the wait to get a table outside over the water and watch the boats and amazing sunsets!

I love this place but interestingly enough I've only ever traveled here by boat. Many great meal options and always fresh. Never been disappointed.

Love it here!! Nothing better than getting off work, sitting on a pier drinking a daqauri while waiting on my to- go order!

Crazy Crab gets five stars from me as a Northern Neck of Virginia restaurant and is locally rated in the top ten in the Northern Neck.Where is the Northern Neck you ask?Well it is the peninsula between the Potomac and and the Rappahannock rivers, and to find the Crazy Crab you just keep driving east down the peninsula on U.S. 360 until you would have to drive into the Reedville harbor to go any farther. There you will find among the commercial fishing docks a small restaurant partially hanging out over the water. Run by Charles, a fisherman's son and his wife Olivia, they create tasty dishes that you really don't expect at the work docks.Well conceived, well constructed and well executed, Charles and Olivia don't skimp on portions of the fresh foods they deliver from the kitchen. We had crab stuffed mushrooms, no filler just a chunk of lump crab in the button. Ask them to go light on the cheese so you don't lose any of that sweet buttery crabmeat flavor. Then a local version of of crab imperial. Lots of lump crab served over real Smithfield country ham. The sweet crab counterbalanced the salty ham. Its good....Finally, a Northern Neck classic, perfectly sauteed Rockfish. This firm white meat fish still remained juicy, covered with a layer of very thinly sliced onions, cooked to translucence with the edges carmelized to bring out the sugars of the onions. And all of this topped with 2 pieces of thin sliced, just crisped bacon. Knowing Charles' background sounds like a waterman's recipe to me.And a bottle of Italian bubbly for $22.What's not to like.

Great service and location. Menu and food seemed just ok. No tarter sauce for fish just mayo. Good steamed clams, but basic. Clan chowder also just ok.

We did call ahead and they warned us that there was no guarantees that we would be seated right at the time of our choosing, and when we arrived they told us it would probably be about a 30 minute wait. It actually turned out to be less than 15 minutes which was totally fine with us. They definitely seemed like they knew what they were doing and were very efficient and quick to serve those who were waiting. I got the captain's platter and was a little disappointed with the portion size for the cost. Overall the food was good, but for the price I was hoping to get something a little more special. I guess these days everything is a little bit more expensive though. My wife got the seafood pasta and it was definitely delicious! Our primary issue for our visit was actually probably the sunlight. We went for dinner and sat down just before 6pm outside in the back right by the water, which was really nice at first, but as the sun starts to set it blasts into the seating area and unless you're in one of the shaded tables around the corner you are going to get scorched! We have 3 small kids so it was harder on them and I did my best to block the sun from them to keep them from cooking. I think if there would have been some shade our experience probably would have been improved by about 50%. I bet if we would have arrived an hour or two later it would have been an infinitely better experience. 🙂
