We have given this spot 3trys. Different times of the season and every time disappointed. First time we ordered the whisky flight. Whisky flight is to be 4 diff local whisky’s to try. Instead we got 4 but all filled with the same whisky and the last one barely anything in it cause the bottle ran out. They offered no discount and from someone that also owns a water restaurant business they should have stated they did not have it from the beginning. The second time was this winter. Different menu each time we go. This time the fries were cold and the crab dip had no flavor. The 3rd strike was this spring, my water came out and glass was cracked from top to bottom and shattered on the one side, glad my husband noticed before I took a drink, then my husband ordered “shrimp tacos” dinner for $24, it came out and I couldn’t stop laughing and my husband was pissed. The tacos had just a pinch of cheese and two shrimp. That’s it, no lettuce, no rice and the real kicker is they were not tacos. They were taco sliders. The kind that after two bites it’s gone. Placed a picture below a tad bit bigger then the lemon slice. So we left and had to feed him when we got home. Our service has always been great but that place will never receive another penny from our pockets.

After our tour to Tangier Island, we looked for a nice place to finally have a beer (dry island). This place did not disappoint. We did not really eat here, but the crab dip was simply out of this world. I had never had pitta bread like these, fluffy, soft and crispy. The pink wine flight was good and the ambience out on the deck, super relaxing. Now, we arrived on a Saturday before 5 PM. The place was literally dead, but by the time we left, almost 6, it had started to get busy. There’s plenty of parking. The service was prompt and friendly. Loved it!

Quite a unique experience. Pretty views from the outside seating area. Waitress had no clue what kind of fish was used on several different entrees. The food was fresh and tasted amazing though. The meal was going great until the tide starting going out? The horrific odor that filled the air was unbearable. I know its not the restaurants fault but we had to cut things short. Overall I had a great time here. I will definitely return.

My husband and myself spent our Valentines night out here and enjoyed their 4 course meal they has set up for the night. Everything was so delicious. We had a little bit of everything between the two of us. Our waitresses Meke and Sydney were absolutely wonderful. The only thing I would say lacked a little was the super small steaks they brought out for the last course. They were tasty, but tiny!We will definitely be back soon though, and hopefully to enjoy some live music!

As residents of the Northern Neck, we had never tried Reedville Market Restaurant. For our anniversary dinner, we made the drive from Lottsburg. We were greeted with a family atmosphere and smiles all around. We found the entire restaurant fresh and clean. We were invited to have outside seating, but chose indoor seating with a view. The tables were nicely set with table clause and silverware. We were greeted right away with ice water and bread. Our waitress was generous with her time, and answered questions and explained the menu. She also offered suggestions which was helpful. My husband had a Delmonica steak with sides. I enjoyed the stuffed shrimp with delight. I should have gone for the smaller size as the portion was very generous. As we enjoyed our dinner and conversation, many people were being seated around us. Some sounded very familiar with the restaurant and staff. The bar area filled quickly. With TVs to watch and what appeared as many cocktail selections. We were checked on often. And finished plates were removed from the table. For our convenience a carafe of ice water was left at our table. We felt like the price compared to the food and service was very comparable. Even though it was our first visit there we were treated as a regular. It will certainly not be our last.

With the rain ending for the afternoon and celebrating my 3rd year living here, I took the advice of a dear friend and decided to try Reedville Market. For those of you who have lived here longer you’ll remember this eatery as Tommy’s , currently reopening under the older name for the former General Store here that used to be Reedville Market. With a setting on the water right on Main Street in the town of Reedville you’re assured nice views. There’s ample parking as well as indoor or outdoor seating for your dining experience. I found the staff alert and attentive, the newer room and the deck tastefully decorated without the corny trappings commonly featured in waterfront restaurants. The food was presented with a flare and we didn’t wait forever to get our order. Bread quickly appeared without asking as the dining room filled with a range of well mannered devoted clientele. I had the Parmesan encrusted Salmon while my photographer had the Sesame Tuna.. both were very filling and enjoyable. The hot crab dip is a well known offering there and quite rich. Personally I think a different cracker might enhance it, or maybe serve it with several types of crackers ? We had both types of Onion Rings as we try them everywhere to compare them . I tried the crab and roasted pepper soup, which on chilly days hits the spot! The Cesar salad was good without being over seasoned . The serving sizes were ample so you won’t leave hungry. To sum up ..if you want good food , a great wait staff, combined with a scenic , yes even romantic setting.. you’ll do well to make reservations at the Reedville Market! Try it!Mike will take good care of you ..All photos by Chris White

Our server Glenn was excellent the food just ok. Not sure about reservations and host, we made reservations well in advance of our 630 Saturday night dinner, even had a confirmation callArrived to be told by hostess she was checking for table preceeded to sit us in abandoned middle room, table dity with mop bucket bedside us, when I said not sure the reason we made reservations she looked puzzled. We sat down, a short time and Glenn arrived to apologize, willing to move us to active area of restaurant. While he was very apologetic the mood for our dinner had be ruined. The penne pasta dry, the crab bisque was not a bisque rather soup. I will give credit to the blueberry lemon drop martini. Thanks Glenn for attempting to make our couples dinner night a success.

This was our $51 1/2 inch thick slice of prime rib. Then they had the nerve to charge us a service fee for using a credit card. Who isn’t using a credit card at an steak and seafood restaurant whose entrees are in the $30-50 range per person? We dine out regularly at a variety of other small restaurants in the area and no other restaurants pass their bank fees on to our check. Disappointing. Won’t be back.**Updated to add that they ran out of soft shell crabs for my entree so they SUBSTITUTED scallops for the missing crab. I did not get a “free upgraded entree”.**

Appetizers were good. Service was slow but friendly. The entrees came out cold. A member of our table ordered a medium rare steak that came out well done. When he respectfully mentioned it, our waitress asked how we can make it right. He responded "however your management sees fit". No one came to the table or tried to make it right... when he approached the manager, the manager said "I don't know what the big deal is".I don't know why a manager thinks that's an appropriate response. This restaurant has so much potential and management is killing it. We won't be back - go to horn harbor instead!

Worth it! Went on Labor Day Sunday with no reservation, gentleman at the door was amazing and got us in after a reasonable wait, especially considering the crowd. We ordered drinks, pancakes, and the french dip for brunch. Reviews were not wrong and did not disappoint. I got the cinnamon swirl in my pancakes and they were sweet, buttery, cooked to perfection. The French dip was also amazing, perfectly seasoned au jus and fries. If you have time and a desire for a well executed and reasonably priced meal, be sure to go there.

As per prior reviews, the service was really slow. We weren’t in too much of a hurry but a couple beside us waited 20 mins & was never acknowledged. They got up & left. The food was good (not exceptional) but overpriced I thought. Out waitress was overworked but did great with us. The view wasn’t anything to write home about. I probably wouldn’t go there again- even if we did live local.

Good restaurants are few and far between in the Northern Neck area. Reedville Market fits as one of the better ones. It has a nice nautical woodsy feel without being over the top. We went there for my birthday dinner and it was enjoyable. Minor complaints were that we really weren't sure who our waitress (although both were very personable and efficient) was. Both were taking our orders and serving our food. The second was my market cut - read small - prime rib was not seasoned from the kitchen. I had to add some salt and pepper at table which is something rarely needed in what is a relatively high-end restaurant. I understand that people have dietary restrictions, but then they shouldn't be ordering prime rib in the first place! It's a once or twice a year special treat for me. It was flavorful after being seasoned and nice and tender and juicy. I like beef very rare, and this did have some pink, but I would call it much more medium than rare - but that's in keeping with the regional tastes. The accompanying salad was nice and crisp, and my onion rings were also. If you're in the area and want a better dining experience, the Reedville Market is worth a visit.

Don’t waste your time or money in this place. S l o w service, 45 minutes to order. Wrong drink came for my wife. Mistake was realized by server when she brought them and said she would be right back with correct one. 15 minutes later I went to front desk to ask if she had left sick since she disappeared. They came to table and said they would get right on it. Drink came with apology. Finally got to order. 2 hours in food came. It was mediocre at best. The we asked for check. It was about $105 and tried to use a $150 gift card purchased from them and given as a gift to us. They sent the busboy to deliver news that the card could not be accepted. I asked why he said it was bad. I went to counter again, and was told their system was down. He then took my credit card. My wife checked the card on line from lobby and it was good and showed a $150 balance. The manager at the front then belted out across the lobby rudely about me and what was he suppose to do , give me $100 cash? I’ll repeat, just the service and food was enough to not return. But the attitude from what appeared to be the manager, was unprofessional and totally uncalled for.***Edited for resturant response. You miss the point which is the reason for my reduced score. Your management response and treatment of my family was the reason for my negative review. Never ever have we been treated the way YOU treated us the restaurant and the way you put me down in your reply. Guest need to know how bad management is at this place and it’s most likely the reason you can’t compete with other restaurants in the area. You have lots and lots of negative reviews. You treat all with disrespect. No I don’t have much free time. But I do have time to call you out.

We had a party of six adults on a Saturday evening. Made a reservation and requested a table with a view of the water. Walked in and saw a table available where we requested. Maitre d would not let us sit there only saying they couldn't guarantee that a request made would be honored. Although we understand there are other factors involved in seating people aside from an open table we did not appreciate that he was rude and uncooperative. So, the evening got off to a bad start especially when he sat 6 full grown adults at a table that should have only fit four and it was overlooking the parking lot.The food was subpar. One person in our party ordered the cobia special grilled and three others ordered the same fish blackened. The blackened arrived as steak cuts, the grilled arrived as the tail piece filet. It was thin and dry and virtually tasteless. It didn't even look like the same type of fish as the blackened cuts. When we questioned the waitress, and asked to have it replaced we were told they were all out (it was 6:30 in the evening). The dish cost $33 and was inedible. She asked if she could bring something different but at that point we were done and said no thank you. Do you think they offered to comp us the inedible meal. That would be a no.Oh, and one more thing - another party was seated at the table we requested shortly after we arrived. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

My husband and I went to Reedville Market for breakfast today at the recommendation of a friend. We weren’t disappointed at all. Our server Glen was great and very attentive and our food was the BEST we’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere is outstanding and everyone there was so friendly. Please give Reedville Market a try next time you are in the area! A 5 🌟 Rating!
