Her customer service went way above and beyond, she took the time to take my call and make sure that everything was in order. I am stationed overseas in Germany and she was able to get my order verified for availability and shipment. She is the reason that I will continue to use the Marine Shop. I had literally just moved into a new place and I had hung up my old uniforms. I had been a Navy Corpsman, Fleet Marine Force. I had figured I would order a few things, since the uniform and ribbons were looking faded/old. I had placed an order for the same ribbons I had, just as duplicates. The order went through and I was notified that they were shipped, via UPS. Now, after they had already been shipped, I get notified by a customer service representative about 2-days later, that for some of my ribbons, I need to send in my DD214. I explained that I had just moved, everything was boxed up and I didn't care to dig through everything just to complete an order for a few $1.15 ribbons; that isn't my top priority right now. I had sent pics of everything boxed up, along with my many uniforms and all my ribbons. She didn't acknowledge anything, just said that she would send a refund. I then wanted to verify that, they would be sending me a refund for the entire purchase, not just a couple ribbons. She said, no, just for the couple ribbons. I told her that, I think it's good that a place verifies that someone has served, since anyone can buy all this anywhere, but it doesn't make any sense to order it, pay, have everything go through, but then ask. From one order, they were going to make this multiple packages, over a few days and a bunch of wasted time; all because they decide to ask for some paperwork AFTER the order is processed and paid for. That should be something that comes up to verify BEFORE the purchase. She goes on to say that, we are encouraged to call and ask questions. I responded by saying, if these are on the site to purchase, I add them, purchase them, just like one could do on 100 other sites, then why would I call? I added that, if there is some stipulation, that should be noted or required before purchase or I should be contacted by customer service prior to charging me or sending anything out, that way, I can decide if I want to continue with the order or not. That's just plain logic and common sense. Basically, they charged me, sent out part of my order, contact me after the fact and create a greater waste of time. This would be like if someone went to purchase a handgun. They go to the store, pick out the gun, purchase it, get bullets and whatever else. They pay for everything, the clerk bags it up and hands it to the person. The person then walks out, but before they get to their car, a store associate tells them that they need to be over 21, have a valid ID and need to clear a background check. You see, it's both logical and common sense to require any stipulations BEFORE the purchase, that way, a person could have things prepared and it saves time.As I said, these were duplicates, I could care less, but it was just for the fact that they just don't grasp that factor of logic or common sense. I have a family, kids, just moved to a new area, everything is boxed up and I have enough going on; I'm not going to drag it out going through a bunch of boxes, for some duplicate ribbons, that cost $1.15; ones which a person could get anywhere else, including fricken Amazon, without such a hassle. I would say that, this company needs to put certain things in place that they require, PRIOR TO the purchase and also; I wasn't very pleased with the way "customer service" handled things either. In my training, we were trained to, "Think smarter, not harder."That's fine somewhere it states you reserve the right and that a customer service representative should follow-up. I can also return the items to be refunded as well. My complaint was how the process was backwards, creating a greater waste of time. You tell me how they, "should" follow up prior to shipping and how I can return the items delivered, which would cost me more time and at my expense; how does that help? It appears that there have been quite a few negative reviews lately. There's the initial apology, some reasoning, but nothing ever done to resolve the "customers" issues. Either way, how you continue doing things only affects you, not me.

This is not a Marine shop this is a money pit. Why doesn’t anyone address how expensive these items are? On top of that you pay the premium price and expect quality yet they fall short on delivering. I ordered evening dress trousers, order got lost somehow, called to follow up on order, they identified that it was lost and shipped me something asap. When it arrived it didn’t have the gold stripe on the side. Needless to say I had to wear my dress blues. I requested to exchange them and they said ok but would not send a label so on top of paying top dollar for the pants I now had to pay an additional shipping fee on top of the original shipping fee.Still do not have my pants because the communication at the shop is just not there so I’m having to explain the situation multiple times to multiple people. Unsat, unprofessional, unwilling to accommodate and huge money pit that fails to deliver with the prices they are charging. OCS I hope you’re steering new candidates away from here.Update.Thank you for the the apologetic response which meant little when you held me responsible for the look of the trousers I never wore because they were the incorrect uniform! If anything once again you should be ashamed that you are sending out pants like that to consumers. The nerve of who ever responded to this saying they had significant wear it’s just pontificating the fact that the marine shop is lacking I many departments leadership included. I received the pants. Thank you that was my last purchase from this store.

Very disappointed. I was in Quantico for a meeting and stopped by for some service trousers. Nobody talked to me for 20 minutes while I waited, and then finally I was informed that—while they had my measurements on file—they would not sell me any trousers using those measurements.BL: They are disrespectful of customers' time, and they keep personal information about you without your consent and that you cannot use or access. It shouldn't be that hard to buy two more sets of trousers just like the ones I already have from them. Avoid at all costs.EDIT: Their response below is dishonest. However much they try to obfuscate, it is an indisputable fact that I had to speak to three different people and STILL left empty handed. Moved them from two stars to one star. It is deeply shameful that a Marine-affiliated business would demonstrate such a lack of integrity.

This places business model is so screwed up. If you do an online order, the people in store cannot help you. I waited nearly 3 months for a white dress blues shirt and a long sleeve khaki shirt for them to have no idea where it’s at. Go else where. This is not a place you want to rely on.

So far so bad, I ordered a belt, breast badges and a tailored set of Trousers. I was charged 2 different shipping fees (one for the trousers, and one for the breast badges and belt.) I received and invoice, and they received payment but 6 days later still nothing else from them, not even a reply to an email or two.

This is not the Marine Shop of old! They sold me a shirt that was too big and then wouldn’t exchange it! I understand that I didn’t have a receipt but not even offering an exchange is ridiculous! I mean their uniform stuff has their logo in it! Where else did you think it came from? I trusted their measurements because they are supposed to be the best or whatever! The customer service and inventory and availability has gone down!

As a SgtMaj with over 19 years in the Marine Corps I will never do business with The Marine Shop again. I custom ordered an evening dress jacket from them on 5 Sep 2023 and requested it be ready by 4 Nov. I was told over the phone before I placed the order that it would be done in time. As weeks ticked by, I received no updates. I called and spoke to different people numerous times about the progress and I was notified that the coat wouldn’t be ready until 5 Nov, and moreover that the white dress shirt I had ordered a month earlier was back ordered. Why did I have to ask them for a status a month after paying and ordering to find that out? It took demanding to speak with a manager for Jessi to finally reach out to me. She ensured that I would get my jacket two days before my ball and upsized the white shirt so that I could make it work last minute. The jacket arrived and it was massive. I had sent 10 custom measurements to them taken by a tailor here in NC and somehow the jacket was still huge. Of note, my chest measurement sent was a 45.5. The tailor here told me that I needed a 46L jacket but they were out of stock everywhere so this led to me ordering with The Marine Shop. The “custom jacket” sent to me from The Marine Shop was a 48L according to the tag and I was floating in it. I sent it back on 3 Nov asking for a full refund and finally after numerous phone calls, today on 20 Nov they say they will give me a refund but minus 15% because they already cut the jacket custom for me. I argued that the jacket was not custom cut for me, but they wouldn’t concede. Customer service has been horrific, their point of sale and inventory control systems are not real time and are archaic. Do business elsewhere and save your self the hassle.

I made a massive purchase the other day, which went great and was provided everything for commissioning. I also purchased a CLEARANCE jewelry box and understood that it had a damaged part. It was also missing the red velvet inserts, which I emailed and asked for either a way to purchase or find the vendor to. I was essentially told no to both inquiries and ignored on my last email for going about completing the item by a member service rep. This turned a great experience into a rough one. I am still looking for a way to replace the red velvet inserts.

Customer service is lacking. I sent my uniforms in for pre-PCS tailoring in January. I still don’t have the uniforms back. I was given an estimated return date that passed without explanation. I have called the shop almost daily and emailed almost daily. No direct answer and no one can tell me where my uniforms are in the process. Despite asking for a call back or email update, no one has contacted me. Will not be using again.

Terrible customer service. I had to inquire about the shipping status multiple items after I made an order. When I had to do an exchange, they “lost” the package until I sent them the tracking info and asked about when they would ship the new item.Go to the MCX. They have amazing customer service - literally emailed me back within minutes of me sending a question about an uniform item. The MCX tailor is also super kind and patient. Even if it costs a little bit more at the MCX, go there instead to get your uniform items.

It is unfortunate that this business has such a monopoly on certain services for the Marine Corps. From incompetent and slow service to inadequate quality, I am amazed that this place has fallen so far. This place is just a business that cares to make money. I got uniforms back from them and the lack of care was shocking. Unpressed shirts, loose threads everywhere, and the uniforms themselves just stuffed in a plastic bag. Furthermore, their lack of explaining their services was shocking as well. You have to pull information out of them for things such as custom uniform orders, engravings, or even new rank insignias being sewn on. If possible, I would avoid this shop.

Terrible customer service and uniform measurements. My uniforms, along with most of my buddy's uniforms required significant alterations. My buddies who got theirs through the MCX had no issues, despite The Marine Shop boasting of higher quality uniforms and tailors. The customer service has also been terrible. I sent my service As coat in to be tailored and then shipped to me, but as of now I have not received it about a month after it was supposed to be delivered. I have called the shop and their support number, leaving my information and a message every time. I am yet to hear back from them.

The Marine Shop has never really let me down. I have only had awesome experiences with thier service and merchandise. They also helped me in a crazy emergency. My hook thin fell off of my blues collar 20 mins before I had to attend a graduation. I rigged somthing up to make it work for the graduation, but I had the Ball the following day. I walked into The Marine Shop wearing my blues and asked if they could fix em. They did! Only took about 10 mins and they didnt charged me a dime.Very nicePretty goodOk bye

Extremely professional staff who cares about their customers, especially Mrs. Hoffman. She worked with me over 3 days to help replace 2 pieces of my Sam Browne belt so that I didn’t have to buy an entire new one. They don’t even sell or carry one of the parts I was looking for but she managed to find it and get it to me.I have tried to replace these parts over the last 3 years and no one has been willing to go beyond and find out if they could order individual parts, except for Mrs. Hoffman. Thank you.

The quality of uniforms and tailoring services are excellent. Everything else is overpriced. I ordered medals with mounting service for my birthday ball more than three weeks away. They didn’t bother to tell me that includes a $15 rush fee. Apparently they charge a rush fee starting in October because, according to the sales associate, “October - November is the busy season.” I don’t expect a military discount at a shop specializing in military uniforms, but I also don’t expect extra fees for basic services.

I ordered a plaque from them. It turned out nice but it’s very overpriced. I was also surprised to find out that they don’t event assemble it. For having paid $210 just to have them tell me “the back of the plate is sticky and you can stick it on the plaque” definitely made me realize I should not come taken my business to this store.Do not recommend getting a plaque here!

She was extremely helpful and professional and was able to have my request completed with a 1-Day turn-around. The sales pitch before graduating from Annapolis was great. But when I received my blues, half of the stitching was incomplete. I had to use duct tape on the inside just to keep the liner from falling out and draping over my pants. They offered no help in correcting the matter after graduation was over. Also, the sword they sold me had several brass pieces fall off. Actually I don’t even think they were brass because they turned green. Either way, why are fake gold pieces falling off my $700+ Mameluke?Bottom line, I highly recommend using MCX uniforms and a good tailor. You’ll save tons of money and you won’t be taken advantage of.

The Marine Shop is a Quantico Icon. They at extremely knowledgeable and helpful. While stationed there I purchased my mess dress uniform and had my miniature medals mounted there as well. Very pleased with the quality of their work. Recently visited the National Museum of the Marine Corps with my bonus daughter who just enlisted in the Marines. Figured great time to get my medals updated now that I am retired. Cheri at the Marine Shop was very helpful. I had to mail my second row of mini medals because they have new mounting method and it would not have looked right. Got the call this morning that my medals had arrived and she would let me know as soon as they were done. That is what customer service should be. Thanks.

A little expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. I've been in and out of this place for the past 10 years and I've always had good service and excellent products. Alterations, new uniform items, you name it.There are a lot of miscellaneous items not related to uniforms as well, such as books, plaques, swag, etc. Overall, a good one-stop shop for Marine Corps paraphernalia and worth a visit if you're in Q-Town.

After spending 700 dollars on a boat cloak and being given an arrival date of 30 March I was then told it was pushed over a month to May. With no excuse or reasoning I'm told I have no option. I did NOT receive any communication that the arrival date was postponed. Only an answer that "The Naval Acadamy comes before me."With that congratulations. You lost a repeat customer and an advocate for your business and "professional" work. once I receive my uniform item I will never return.

Recently placed an order, the order was on a Monday night. Since I am "local" I was expecting to receive the order around Friday, called on Friday and asked about the status of the order, the nice lady told me since my order is NOT A PRIORITY it has has not been fulfilled, and since they state the delivery is 5-7 days they are still on time. How stupid is this, all items I ordered we in stock, I didn't order uniforms or frames, I simply ordered a few chevrons and some insignias, there was nothing that was large or heavy or in back order. Why would it take you 5 days to put them in a bag and ship them, her answer still, "since you are local you will receive them in 1 or 2 days from shipping". I am baffled. Will never do business with this place as a Marine I would expect thing to be done in time. Order cancelled.

The Marine Shop must be run by a salty Sergeant Major, because it operates in the most exemplary manner and as smooth as a well-oiled M240 Machinegun. Their professionalism, customer service, and ability to work with you personally to solve whatever uniform issue, drama, or mishap is superb. The prices are EXPONENTIALLY less expensive than their competitors. And if you do happen to find it is less expensive elsewhere, it's likely low quality. The other competitors I have dealt with in the past, give you the similar experience of going on Amazon...you are a NUMBER, not a person, and they have no clue about the actual Marine uniform. NOT at the Marine Shop! I had the pleasure of working with Maria who was exceptionally proficient, and professional. However, everyone I spoke to seem to be of that caliber as well. Thank you, Marine Shop, for being Semper Fidelis towards your customers. I'll never go anywhere else.
