I worked retail for years and I know exactly why they are all TOO eager to help. But with these times I completely understand. I take advantage and ask questions to annoy them. The prices are a bit steep but they do have some good sales and a great posh selection of items. Given where we live, I’d rather go here and pay a bit more than have to sit in miles and miles of traffic spending even more in gas. Everything is very organized. I’m OCD on this and it makes me happy seeing all the spray can labels facing forward, inventory on pegs pushed forward. The aesthetics...etc. There is nothing more annoying than looking for a small item and there is a mess all over. Employees are great. I can easily spend a whole check and a whole day here 😂

Well looking for a specific, hard to find tool, I called them the previous day after the website said they had one in stock. I asked the person I talked to to please confirm that it was actually in stock as I know that the online stock counts of hardware stores are frequently off. I got a confirmation, then drove 1 hour and 35 minutes each way only to find that the tool was in fact not in stock, and never was, nor was it in stock at any place nearby. I have now wasted pretty much my entire day trying to get this tool that was never here in the first place. I don't understand what's so hard about walking to the tool section to make sure that you are giving accurate information, especially in a smaller hardware store such as this one.

Great place. Friendly associates. Update: went in on 5/5/2023 to look at a surge protector. Reasonable prices. An associate by the name of Hunter helped me locate where they were located in the store. Very helpful.

What a lovely gem of a hardware store. The floor layout is well thought out. The displays really captured my eye. I had no idea I wanted all of the barbecues 😂 prices are competitive. The sales team are very helpful and courteous 👍

I thought I’d never say this. I also thought I’d never write a google review about anything. I thought I’d be the “last man standing” at Nichol’s Hardware. But… Y’all: Ace is THE PLACE!!! Nichol’s continues to lose the “old timers” and all the small town feels that came with them (and their austere facial expressions married with unfailing, infinite knowledge). The charming atmosphere that set Nichol’s apart from the chain stores has seeped through the decades old floor boards into a slow grave. Not to mention, the less than enthusiastic staff are as helpful as a Home Depot employee at closing time. But take heart!! (Sing with me now) It’s all about that Ace! Bout that Ace… not Nichol’s… The staff is friendly! I’m always greeted with gregarious salutations. “Good afternoon, Mam.” “How can I help you, Mam” They are eager to assist, help problem solve, and even offer suggestions if it means sending me to another shop. Returns are easy. Information is readily given. Prices are competitive with the big box stores! I cannot say enough good things about this store. I hope the good times continue to roll at Ace. For now… Ace is my place to bring business!

The staff here are all friendly and eager to help out. I've been in probably a dozen times since they opened and it's been fantastic having them in town. I had such a positive experience today I had to get around to giving a good review.Walked in with a German-Made Saxophone stand that had a screw and nut go missing from one of the folding legs.The screw and nut were not standard size. But the employee who helped me went above and beyond to spend 10 minutes cutting the screw down to the right length, and shaving a nut down to fit in its slot. All of that for $2.00 worth of hardware.If you're into BBQ/Grilling, their selection is fantastic. Lots of sauces, rubs, charcoal, wood selections, and accessories.It is a smaller space, so you're not going to find everything under the sun like you might at a larger store. But for every day hardware/DIY needs they've got what I need 95% of the time.

Ace hardware is a new entrant in town, and I was a bit suspicious given my affinity for small, locally-owned businesses like Nichol's. But I have to say that Ace is a great addition to the town of Purcellville. They have a wonderful supply of hardware, paints, tools , etc., but they also sell 2x4s, grills and outdoor furniture. In the past I have had to run to HD in Leesburg when I couldn't find what I needed, but on my last two projects I was able to find everything I needed at Ace. They also have a full staff who in anxious to help you find what you need and offer suggestions. Definitely happy the Ace moved into town.

I thought I'd love this close to home but ultimately didn't solve any issues. Good for your have to have it nows. Friendly staff and overall clean and well organized. Limited selection and may be missing much of what you need, but expected for the size. Biggest issue is pricing, you'll have considerably going to Lowes or Home Depot. Even Nichols (where it's less organized and the hours aren't great). Spray paint was $5 more a can, for example.Have an urgently job and need one quick part, and time, spend a dollar or so more, and go here. Anything larger will require a trip to another larger store anyway.

Needed a special screw remover to fix an item I recently bought. Instead of selling me the single item I needed, the staff helped me fix the item in 20 minutes and refused to be paid for their time. So, great service and wonderful people from the manager on down. My new go to place. (Love walking down the aisles looking at all the goodies.)

The prices reflect the convenience of not having to drive to Leesburg or Winchester, but the employees are very nice & polite. Hannah was particularly helpful last time I was there

Have been to this location on two occasions for different products. It is the newer of the two within driving distance. The customer service at this location has been excellent with staff readily assisting the customer in getting items to their vehicle. I recommend this location for business. My only headache which is not the fault of Ace is how the traffic management is set up in the general area. It needs reimagining especially during PM rush. Thank you.

Nicely organized. An amazing range of items that frequently saves me a longer trip to Lowe's. Don't go to buy large quantities, though. I needed 2 of a certain receptacle and that's all they had. Sorry for the next person that wants the same thing.

They have a decent range of stuff, but when they opened they had special coupons to draw you in. I had one for $10 off but they didn't honor it because I bought sale items. It left a bad taste and because of it they've lost more than $10 from me. They're good for last minute, generally over priced.

Hands down the best hardware store in the area. Everyone is incredibly friendly and eager to help find things. Great selection with tons of stock, hassle free checkout, and plenty of room inside. I'll definitely make this my go to instead of Lowe's in the area.

May not have the same massive selection of Home Depot, but there's a good chance they'll have exactly what you need. And probably the best customer service anywhere while you're at it.

Good looking store. Almost like no one working here. Had to go up front to ask for someone to serve me. Then that person really didn't know too much. Really not my usual experience with ACE stores. Very disappointed.
