They gave my puppies meds after dog pond took the puppies and took them there.never talked to me.and would not tell me on phone what they did.i had already started the shots process.they had no clue what I had given them. Very unprofessional.they work with Powhatan county.they don't want to loose that contract I'm sure.I will never take my animals there.and would not pay them to take my trash to the dump much less work on my animals.go to Powhatan animal .beside sheetz.

Dr. Cynthia Stansberry is a wonderful veterinarian & her staff is wonderful too. She's very kind & understanding & helped me tremendously when my dog was I'll. I would recommend her highly to anyone looking for a great vet. She's a true lover of animals! 💕

Dr. Stansberry has been the most compassionate, considerate vet to to treat any of our animals. Its nice to know there are professionals still around that truly care about not just the animal, but the difficult decision making process that we as owners and families go through. Claws and Paws has an amazing team of people, very easy to work with, extremely responsive and respectful. I don’t think 5 stars are enough to rate this business - I give em a 10!

I don't know what I would do if I didn't have these amazing people in my life! About 8 years ago or so, we were going to a different vet. A cat that we had broke her leg. This was on a Monday. I called our vet at the time and they didn't have anything open until Thursday as a walk in! I had a friend of mine tell me about Claws and Paws. I called them and they asked me how soon could I get her there? Right there, they won me and my business! It was the BEST decision I could have made! We were fortunate to have known Dr. Fore who was a great man and is deeply missed! We also have been fortunate to know Dr. Morgan who is an amazing soul! She is sweet and genuinely cares about the animals and the owners too! All the staff there from Mike to Michelle to Karen to all the assistants, they are all AMAZING people there! They have always made us and our pets feel like we are their number one priority! I would highly recommend Claws and Paws to anyone! And I have!

This is without a doubt the best place to bring your pets. The first time we went to them the vet Dr. Stansberry took her time with our dog, she got to know him and got him comfortable considering he's at the Doctors office plus he is blind. My wife and I were very impressed the Dr. Stansberry. I also wanted to compliment the ladies at the front desk they have been very nice and help full. All in all Claws & Paws is a great place for your pets to be treated. They've earned a 10 plus. It's hard to make everyone happy 100% of the time but they sure are doing a great job at keeping pets and owners happy. Claws and Paws keep up the Great Work!!!

I'm on disability and have an emotional support dog. I was not able to pay Mr. Crawford right away. He let me do small payments for years till I could pay him back in full and did not make it hurt my credit. I'm forever thankful for his merciful heart ❤️🙏 God will reward him greatly!

Nothing can make losing a pet any easier, but when your vet is compassionate enough to drive out to your home after office hours so your golden retriever of 14 years can die in his home surrounded by his family, you really cannot ask for much more than that. As long as I live in Powhatan I will trust these wonderful people with my animals. Dr. Stansberry takes amazing care of my dogs, and Dr. Morgan is incredibly knowledgeable on german shepherds, which puts my mind at ease every time I bring my girl in. The truly listen to every concern and do their best to help.

This is a great place to take your animals and they even can treat your pet rats. I have a cat with heart failure and they saved him twice and then kept him all day to make sure he was going to be ok. They also have prescription food. I would recommend this place for anyone with pets.

My dog was violently attacked by another dog on a friday afternoon. It was very critical, and he had many serious injuries. We took him to claws and paws, and they were waiting at the door for him. It did not matter that they closed in 5 minutes, they swooped right in and gave him the best possible care. The vet stayed with him, did surgery, and cared for him after hours and on the weekend. I love this vet, i will continue to take my pets there.

Took our family Cockatoo with an emergency related to her leg caused by the identification ring to this establishment and were advised they would contact us once ring is removed under anesthesia to pick up bird.Received a phone call later on stating that "There is a Problem" and to please return to the office. Once we arrived bird was placed in unsafe cage after anesthesia and due to that beak broke partially off inside of cage due to metal name plate on cage.Bird full of blood and rag full of blood then picked bird up placed then by vet into safer paper box with true emergency.- Charges in full still occurred and were covered by us - All other vets would have not charged in fairness any amount as the bird was under their care when second emergency occurred to due unsafe cage .- Office does not believe they should refund any amount of sum paid by us.- MR MIKE CRAWFORD (Office Owner/Financial) is the least professional individual I have ever had to deal with and I was lucky he did not hang up on me as he cut me off with the same line of: I will send the results (which we paid for) which was not my question repeating himself and cutting me off at least 8 times.- Bird now can not and will not eat anything other then oatmeal and Dr. Morgan believes nothing major happened.- Per Dr. Morgan the beak will grow back very fast (very fast = 1-2 years) per other vets in this case birds have to be euthanized later on in certain cases.I understand that things can happen but to see how unprofessionally this is handled on the end of Dr. Morgan including even worse Mr. Mike Crawford I CAN ONLY RECOMMEND FOR EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT.Of course they want us now to return to make even more money on an issue caused by their negligence... NEVER AGAIN!

Good vet but didn’t like how they kept getting angry at my dog, we were in there because she couldn’t hold her bladder no matter what, we told them this and they kept getting so angry that she was peeing on the floor so much... we hadn’t given her water or anything to drink she was just sick.... we haven’t been back here since that day and changed vets all together

A big turnover in doctors, but they all give good attention to your animals. My major complaint is their office hours. 8-4 Monday-Friday. Too bad some of us have to work for a living, so getting there when they are open is a real pain. No Saturday hours, even until noon, would really help. Last incident with one of my cats seemed to be addressing immediate symptoms only, rather than the root cause, resulting in multiple visits after a cat fight. I would have rated them a 3 at one time, but with the latest incident, and the lousy office hours, I'm really close to a 1.
