I am moving my cat to the area and needed a veterinarian. This Clinic came highly recommended by a friend so I came here personally to make an appointment for "Pearl". When I arrived I stood at the counter for roughly 10 minutes before a woman who I believe to be the doctor came out from the back. She was the only person in the place at the time and I made an appointment with her. I was enthusiastic about bringing my cat here and also gave them a copy of the records that she had previously had in Bristol Tennessee. On November 27th the day of her appointment I called from the road on my way from Bristol Tennessee, (an 85 mile drive) to verify the time of her visit and the woman on the phone told me that there was no record of an appointment for me that day, or ANY DAY! She also said that Peal's records were there but didn't know how that could be.WELL DUH!After several back and forths, I was actually hung up on!Anyway, when I arrived in Pound, I continued on to the clinic with my cat to keep my scheduled appointment. There were three women behind the counter including the woman who originally took my information. However. she was adamant that she did not recall me making the appointment! I left the clinic thoroughly disgusted!I DID find the appointment card on my coffee table when I got back home with the correct time and date of Nov.27 11:30 am! They might do good work here but I will never know personally because I won't return!I intend to send them a letter in the mail along with the copies of the front and back side of my appointment card. I would post them here if given the option.

I have trusted Dr. Jessee for years with my fur-babies and with the addition of a new puppy, it was gonna be with her again. She definitely treats your fur-babies like they're her fur-babies. That's family!!! Thanks so much for your loving care! ❤️

They take advantage of people on disability! They are extremely pricey, and extremely rude. They DO NOT offer payment options, so if you have a really sick pet DO NOT take your pet to the vet in pound Va! I'm on SSI and Social Security, and I'm sure others are too. They obviously don't seem to care, and will not work with you.

I’ve bounced around a few vets trying to find one that works for me and my senior cat. I’m so glad I found Dr. Stidham. I came in several months ago with a very sick kitty with multiple issues. Since then the Dr came up with a treatment plan and she’s doing amazing on it!The vet techs are so amazing and sweet too. They do amazing with my grumpy girl. This is one of the only vets I’ve ever had where my cat was able to do a blood draw without being completely sedated.The care is affordable as well. I greatly appreciate that the staff is willing to wear masks upon request and do curbside service.

We just moved nearly 700 miles with our gaggle of special needs rescue pets. I had the option of 2 veterinarians within 30 minutes of my new home, and went with Pound Vet on a recommendation from a distant friend of a deceased friend, so essentially a stranger. Boy was she right! I was hoping for the best, but I did not actually expect to get it... yet I did! This place hits the trifecta of kind, professional doctor and staff, extremely reasonable costs, and easy communication. My one cat is NOT an easy patient to deal with but Dr. Stidham and her tech handled him with as much grace and patience as I would have. Needless to say, they will be meeting the rest of my pets soon! I think we have found our vet for life.

I was using another Vet for my first dog but had a bad experience so I changed before my younger puppy had his first visit. Thank God I switched because he ended up developing epilepsy.The staff here has been helpful and understanding. They have worked me into their appointment schedule on busy days and let me know all pricing up front. Every time I have called (during working hours of course) I have been able to talk to someone and get guidance, an appointment, and a kind word.I feel comfortable taking my dogs here and will continue to do so. If you're in the area and looking for a vet you can trust to be honest and respectful, this is the place.

The name says it’s a hospital, but even though I have an 13 year old, sick, dog they refuse to see her. Not a Veterinary Hospital who cares for dogs apparently. When I asked what should I do, she told me to take my dog back to where I go. I then explained that I moved here recently from Louisville, her comment was “oh well”. Don’t advertise as an Veterinary Hospital when you’re not!

I normally do not write reviews for places, but I felt compelled to as the whole team here is full of outstanding individuals and I feel they deserve credit. They are highly professional and passionate about their role in taking care of your pets, and every time I go here I know they are doing their best to take care of them. They care about my cats just as much as I do. Highly recommended!

Our outside cat's back leg was swelling, they worked our cat in even though we had never been there before. They were great with him and reassuring to us, Chong had been bitten by a snake. He is fully healed and I greatly appreciate the staff as well as the doctor. Will definitely be making this Vet our fur babies doctor.

I moved from Kentucky to Virginia in October and have been looking for a place to see my kitties. I helped with animal rescue and when I moved, ended up with 4 of my former fosters just being my forever kitties. today, the oldest of my furbaby family began to cry every time she tried to eat. I knew it could be something as simple as a tooth, or as severe as an obstruction and I didn't want to take the chance of her getting worse over the weekend. I threw on clothes, jumped in my car, and made it to the office by 11:40. I understand that it is "inconvenient" to be close to quitting time and having someone come in, but in that type of.emergency facility one would falsely assume that open hours mean available service. I was turned away by two separate people, told they were already closing, though door was unlocked and it was still 20 mins until the posted closing time. I was told that if I had called beforehand they could have told me. None of these reviews mean anything to me. it's awesome that you can be kind or concerned for other animals, but to ignore mine, as a potential future long term customer, and worse....to ignore the well-being of an innocent animal? I will share my story with everyone in this area. and it looks like to receive anything resembling quality vet care I will have to drive back to Kentucky. So so disappointed and disgusted right now.

The staff have always been very compassionate and considerate every time I have taken by dog to them. Dr. Stidham is a very capable veterinarian and it's obvious that she truly cares about her patients, our little companions. I prefer Dr. Stidham above the other local veterinarians because she will take the time to answer all my questions and my dog senses that he's truly cared for. The atmosphere is totally awesome.

I absolutely adore Donna and her staff. They have taken care of my fur babies for going on 15 years now. They watched my bestie ( Jackie, a yorkie ) grow from a fuzzy lil puppy to a wise ( stubborn ) little old lady, and made her final days the absolute best they could be. When I had to let her go, they were all there for me, reaching out and offering their condolences, even if they were off the clock that day. They truly made a heartbreaking moment so much easier to bear.The patience and care they provided her, and continue to provide my pup Sam, is unparalleled. I've never met a more caring team of individuals. They have always done everything they can to help when an emergency came up, or when I simply panicked and ran to them lol. I love them all to bits and would recommend them a thousand times over to anyone seeking quality, loving pet care.If any of you at Pound Veterinary ever read this, thank you so very much for all you have done. I will miss you all dearly when we move.

If you have an emergency DO NOT expect them to just take your pet back.. Obviously they are too busy to care.. Hate this place. How they stay booked is beyond me, especially with their prices(triple what you'd normally pay)

The vet there is wonderful but one of the receptionists can be very snarky. They are the least expensive for tooth cleaning however.
