My mom's puppy always has fun with his dog friends here. We love seeing the pictures of them at play, and he was pretty much the first customer when the business opened. We drive an hour here because of the quality of care. It has been Thor approved 🐕

My dog LOVES it here, and he is not overly social so that means a lot. They all know my dog by name when he walks in, he gets so excited, and I feel confident leaving him there for daycare or boarding or whatever he needs. It’s a great place with great people. Definitely would recommend!!!

We did an eval for boarding for our dogs today and they loved it! Our high strung dog was so tired that he was trying to go to sleep in the car and he never does that (especially on a ten minute car ride).

The ONLY place in this area that UNDERSTANDS my WORKING DOG is DIFFERENT from the PETS usually catered to at K9 boarding facilities. K9 Rocco had some quality "down time" where he could relax for a few moments, he enjoyed his time there. The staff was EXCELLENT, the facility GREAT(the rates were REASONABLE, too)!!! We plan to RETURN!!!

Port Rover has been a part of our lives for over 2 year's. I highly recommend them for all your pup's needs. Whether it is daycare to burn off extra energy while you do what you need to. My two are always so happy to see me when picking them up and so excited when dropping them off. Boarding them here as well when needed brings me comfort knowing they are safe, well cared for and looked after as if they belonged to the staff itself. I am an over protective dog mom with these two pup's of mine that I'm very picky with who even is allowed to pet them. We have done board and train with Port Rover the trainers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Grooming is great as well. The attention to detail from the whole staff far succeeded my high expectations and what and how I believe my two should be treated. Port Rover deserves more than 5 star's. Thank you so much for all you do for my two pup's.

Port Rover has been so good to my boy since day 1! The staff are so sweet and care about him. He enjoys going there and is always so tired when he gets home, which is perfect! I typically use their day care & grooming service, but I have also used their boarding services with no issues!I enjoy the social events they do for the dogs and how active they are on social media, I love seeing photos of my boy on their page.Thank you for being awesome Port Rover!

We take our 5 lb. Havanese here for grooming. They always do a great job and our dog, who has some anxiety issues, always comes out calm and and looking good. They have someone to let the dogs out frequently which is also great. This place really cares about dogs, and they are always on top of it great local business in Portsmouth to support.

I found Port Rover the week before I moved here and haven’t left since! My dog loves going here and the staff is absolutely wonderful. They are always so excited to see my dog and have even made a nickname for her! As long as I am here I will be bringing my dog here for boarding and grooming!

I have been using Port Rover’s grooming service for almost 2 years now for my hyperactive pup, Grey. 😅 They take such great care of him and he jumps right in their arms as soon as we get inside every time. I have yet to have any issues and I pray it stays that way. They are affordable and kind and that’s always a plus in my book. 😁-Alonna C.

We utilize the doggy daycare. Between working and running errands I feel 100% comfortable leaving my puppy Astro there. He loves it and comes home exhausted. If I could change anything it would be for you all to be open on Sundays but I understand everyone needs a rest day. See you soon!

Horrible service. Called a week in advance for my pomeranian to get a full service cut. Made an appointment. Upon showing up 15 minutes early for the appointment, I am told that no appointment was made, and on top of that, their groomer called in that morning and wasn't going to be there. No notice to us about that. More than likely because they didn't have us in for the appointment. Recommend going somewhere more dependable, and that does proper confirmation of appointments.

We adopted Sir Bailey from SPCA about six months ago. Consideration was given to dog size as we aren’t physically able to bath larger dogs. Two weeks in we attempted to bath our 28 lb newest family member and he had the strength of a lion in resistance.Sir Bailey has visited two reputable groomers with both assuring me that they knew how to groom difficult dogs. Grooming Bailey would not be a problem. Twice I was called to come and get him; they could not get the job done. I took Sir Bailey to Port Rover with no guarantee, but they would try to groom him. The dreaded call came for me to come and get Sir Bailey. What happened next I did not expect. His groomer, Ronni, came out and suggested that we reschedule him to be groomed on a less busy day. She was willing to work with our boy and she had the temperament to get the job done. A quieter environment and fewer dogs would allow her the time to work with Bailey making him less anxious and more comfortable. Not only was Ronni willing to work with Sir Bailey but seemed to welcome the challenge of working with him.A week later Sir Bailey was groomed by Ronni and came home clean, smelling good and a soft coat. Sir Bailey has a long ways to go before chilling on the grooming table, but Ronni has expressed that she will continue to work with Sir Bailey. Feeling grateful for Ronni.

Our two pups absolutely love spending time here and we could not be happier with the level of service they provide. Whether for daycare or boarding we know our pups are being well cared for. The staff is amazing, friendly and always communicates with us. We have also utilized their training services which was great benefit for us and our pups.

My Mady girl loves this place! I never trusted anyone with boarding my dog as she is an old rescue pit bull that’s not very good with other dogs. Port Rover took her right in and she always comes back happy and clean after they give her a nice refreshing bath. Love this place and will continue to return.

Cheri and Mark are the greatest. Our dogs love going for daycare and we never have to worry about them when they are boarded. The photoshoots that they do with the dogs are always great. Their prices are the most affordable out of anywhere I know of.

The trainer Pam is amazing! Our dog is aggressive and he’s made a ton of progress in just one week of training! We’ve tried multiple trainers who only made the aggression worse, but Pam has made a world of difference. I’m so grateful to have found Port Rover!

We are super happy with Port River and their employees!! They have watched our dogs when we were away. Today I brought them both for a bath. What an awesome facility!! Unlike any other dog care anywhere. They have several kennels and doggy play area. They even do grooming. My boy’s came back to me super clean and happy. I won’t go anywhere else ever !! I can’t say enough about Port Rover and their awesome trainer, Pam. We took our show dog for training as she did not like big dogs. After only a few training sessions, she will sit side by side next to big dogs! Thanks Pam and Port Rover for being there for us and our dog!

Not Satisfied!! I boarded my dog at their facility 3 times, on the last two visits when I picked him up he was soaking wet in urine! The attending told me he (my dog) had been playing outside in water, but when I got him in the car, the urine smell was so strong, we had to let the windows down (very strong scent of urine), did I mention he was soaking wet in urine!!

We love all the people at Port Rover Cheri is absolutely amazing with our puppy dog. I love the fact that they can stay there and participate in daycare with no extra charges. Every time my dog goes there he has a great time can't recommend them enough.

Port Rover is my go-to for boarding my boy Copper when I am travelling. He is always super excited when I drop him off, and always comes home tired and happy. One time they stayed 20 minutes past closing time so I could still pick him up when one of my flights was delayed. I won't be taking him anywhere else when I need to board him!

Picked up my elderly dog twice and she was soaked in urine. They made excuses. It was evident they let my elderly dog sit all day and made no effort to walk her or allow her to relieve herself outside. I have voiced my complaints in person and my dog will not be returning to your facility. I would definitely not take an older dog to this pet boarding place.
