This is the absolute worst Kroger I have ever been to. The personnel are rude. I told the person the salmon was supposed to be $19.99 and she took her sweet time to get a price check. She came back and said $24.99 was the price, but I had already walked back over there and taken the picture of the price it was supposed to be and showed her the picture and she rolled her eyes, walked off and started talking to security about something else. If you don’t wanna be there go home. I did not make it scan incorrectly. It’s not that hard to do your job ma’am. Especially when you’re getting paid for it. I recommend going to another Kroger or go across the street to Walmart sad to say.

Have heard the horror stories from other people about this store from cold products to staff along with everything in between. But took a chance today by ordering my groceries as order pick up. The person who brought my things out was absolutely amazing. But the fresh meats were a force to be reckoned with not to mention how my items were bagged. I was given bags that were ripping by the handles giving me no way to carry my groceries into my home. The chicken pork sausage and lunch meat smelt rancid. Called the store of course no answer. So I processed to call customer service. After a hour of the representative trying to contact the store instead of resolving my concern and then handling it on the back end she said she would refund my items. I was given a total asked to have her repeat it to ensure I was correct but she did not. Then look at the email sent and was told I won’t get the money back on my ebt card for 30-45 days. So not only am I left with meats that are rancid and not safe to eat that had to be tossed but also have absolutely no way to replace these things. Will be taking shopping anywhere away from Kroger and anything in its vicinity.

Nice store, quite large superstore they have just about anything you need, they had some good prices on their weekly specials! I shop there when in the area.

Incompetent. Had a clicklist for 5pm, they waited til 450 when I was there already there to pickup order to call and say I could cancel or get order tmrwcuz they were just now picking orders from 2pm. So for 3 hrs they knew they were behind and waited til it said order was ready for pickup and I was there to call. I asked for a manager to call and 2 days later, still no manager call. Incompetent.

I was rudely denied entry to Kroger @ 10:47pm, 29APR2024 by a power tripping security guard who falsely claimed that Kroger policy prohibits admitting customers 15 minutes prior to closing. I verified with Kroger customer service that this statement was false. Please address this guard’s negative behavior and misinformation.

The outside of the store is very clean. The attendants are hard at work picking up baskets in the parking lot.As I enter the store I notice how clean it is. And at this hour there's not a lot of people.

Very nice Kroger. Clean, neat, well stocked. Not too crowded. The carts don’t suck. I’m going to start shopping at this Kroger instead of the North Suffolk one.

Awesome staff. Everything you could want in this store. Fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and seafood and everything in between. They have clothes and houseware, health and beauty, home goods and even a Starbucks! Stop in and check them out!!! I will be back often!

Very nice and large supermarket in Portsmouth. The isles are wide and easy to walk around with the shopping cart. Very nice wine section, too.

The pharmacy at Frederick is garbage. The techs are rude and refuse to answer your questions wirhout pushing. Save yourself the hassle and go anywhere else but here.Standards are WAAY higher at the Suffolk Kroger. I was able to get my prescription filled and questions answered with ZERO problems.

I’m in the military I work 7:30am-7:40pm. I leave my house at 5:45 and don’t get home until 8 or 9 sometimes if traffic is bad. I rely on this store for groceries and to pay bills because auto pay can be a pain sometimes even with a military paycheck. Well tonight I stop on my way home to rent a carpet cleaner I arrive at 8:30 pm and they do not close until 11. Awesome I have plenty of time right. Well I go inside and I get my wife dinner and head to check out where I’m told I have to go to customer service/money services to rent the carpet cleaner but I can pay for my items there, okay no problem, I head to the counter and set my things down. I proceed to wait for 45 minutes at this counter, I tried to locate an associate to assist me and they are all gone. None in the isles no one at any register including self checkout. So I call the store that I am waiting in multiple times and no one answers the phone. I can hear the phone next to me as it rings and no one answered it. I finally see an associate and ask for assistance who proceeded to tell me that they are going on break and can’t help. After waiting another 10 minutes I was approached by an associate who informed me that the customer/money services desk is closed even tho there is a sign on the desk saying open until 10. This was ridiculous, I can’t believe that they allow this type of behavior and laziness at their company.

Store has really bottomed out in the past few months. Gang graffiti in the unisex bathroom by the pharmacy, health and beauty products locked behind glass, products not in stock and store is dirty. Beer bar removed and manager stated store will be closing in 24 if shrinkage isn’t slowed… it’s a Portsmouth problem. Taking my $600 a month grocery money elsewhere. Trifling store.

Everyone loves Kroger, but the one in Portsmouth is the worse never any carts in the store, constant trash in the parking lot.And the constant waiting to be rung up. Not to mention no one tries to help you when you have a question

Fredrick Blvd. Used to do well. NOW, the store is dirty. Hardly do you find a cart in the store to use.The Manger has been spoken to many times and he keeps saying carts have been stolen. Today AGAIN no carts inside for customers to use. However there are carts all over the inside of the store filled with display items cause they are working. I counted 14 carts that employees have full. The stores dirty. As I left the parking lot was full of empty carts. But none inside for customers. Checkout lanes are dirty as well needs sweeping. Mt cashier held a long conversation with a customer that continued well after the transaction was completed. Then they had to exchange phone numbers. Because the store manager has been told of these problems and they only get worse. I blame him as well as the distract Manger for allowing poor management to continue. This store doesn't deserve a one star.

Refused to let me in the store at 1035 stating they never let anyone in past 1030. Absolutely awful after walking to the store entrance in a terrible storm and getting soak and wet. Disgusting customer service. It wouldn't take me 30 minutes to buy one item.

Trash. Plain and simple. The store states it closes at 11pm. Every time I go at 8pm they've already shut down the main doors and you need to go through the exit to get in. There are no actual registers open. The self check out line is down an entire aisle and you are waiting a good 30-45 minutes to check out. Simple items are behind locked cases here, so have fun with that wait time/trying to get a begrudging employee to actually help you. It's dirty. The walk in from the parking lot is borderline terrifying at night. Just go somewhere else honestly. Driving here is the worst, but this store is not worth the convenience of its closeness.

The store is great but the customers, if you are wheelchair bound and have a ramp on your vehicle, good luck finding a place to park. Almost every handicap spot, they were parked half on the ramp access. (Slashed painted part) no room for anyone who needed it.And the parts that are alloted to go to and from the vehicles without walking in traffic, they were packed with carts and scooters left. I couldn't get through with my cane.

Make sure you arrive before 10:30. Yes, they supposedly close at 11 but they start locking up and blocking off the entrance doors at 1030. So you have to be persistent and scoot in via the Exit doors if you need that last minute carton of eggs, or anything for that matter.But be sure to be out by 10:50 or else your stuck with just two slow self checkout registers. As the cashier is already shut down too. Then again, with them limiting it to like 30 customers by shutting the doors at 1030, I guess that it's okay.

Store is always clean. Portsmouth Police is present in the evenings which allows safe shopping at night. Store has everything you need for your home at a reasonable price; from clothing, shoes and accessories, animal food and accessories, steam cleaners for your carpet, healthy and organic foods, deli, hot meals,. Starbucks, brands name and Kroger Brand products. Recommend getting the Kroger reward card for added discount which also applied to gas station which is also located at this location

Love my local Krogers! And the private selection brands are really, really good! Everything looks and is fresh, well placed, and nice employees! The butcher case is always fresh too for your choice of cuts!Love Krogers for the selection and value.

I had a negative experience at Kroger.Went in to buy food since it was on my way back home, I dropped my bag during my quick shopping and had to ask around about what happened with it to find out customer service just trashed it without any type of notice.It is unacceptable for the staff to open a customer's bag without permission and throw away its contents.-->Furthermore, the fact that they lied about the bag being on the floor for 30 minutes raises concerns about their honesty.<--I came in before 4:33 and almost left at 4:50 when I finished at self-checkout.As a customer, you have a right to expect that your personal belongings will be treated with respect and not be tampered with. Instead of opening the bag, the staff should have made a public announcement about the missing bag, giving customers the opportunity to help locate it.They also should have contacted the authorities "if" there was a suspicion substances, rather than taking matters into their own hands.I feel frustrated and violated by this experience.It's essential that Kroger takes this matter seriously and implements stricter protocols to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. Customers should be able to trust that their belongings will be safe while shopping at Kroger.

They allow NON service animals all in this grocery store ALL the time!! ESAs are not permitted in grocery stores and these dogs are not cared for and groomed on the same level as a service dog and they are all around my food and produce, please enforce the law about ANIMALS at a grocery store, feel like I shouldn’t have to say this. What is up having only 6 self checkout and 2 regular checkout lanes at noon on a Saturday?! Ridiculous!!! At this point I’m about to start going to Food Lion almost 10 minutes away instead of the 5 to Kroger. Ridiculous!!!!!

Kroger’s is the best place to buy misc items! Has great customer service and sushi and Starbucks and a little bar where you can kick back and make new friends while you have a beer or glass of wine and enjoying your shopping trip. I love krogers!

Uhmmm…In the women’s restroom, there are literal HOLES in the stalls where you can see thru the other side. I went in a stall and saw toilet paper covering them. I don’t know if it’s from previous nails or something but please please PLEASE COVER THEM UP!!!

Went to pick up prescriptions at the pharmacy. Staff is always very nice and helpful. Picked up my prescriptions and then went shopping in the store.
