Heretick is a family-owned shop in Petersburg catering to farmers mostly, although anyone can go there for seeds or plants or baby chickens in season. They also have animal feed and tools and fertilizers and so forth. My family has been getting seeds here for many years, but lately it's been fairly disappointing. A couple of times seeds didn't sprout, and I got some seed potatoes that had a lot of bad spots that I was just told were fine to use. One year they sold me a bunch of onion starts that never bulbed up, they just died. The onion sets are usually pretty good though. Heretick is a really small business (just 2 little rooms) and they don't have a lot of selection, and little to no information about what varieties you're getting. The guys who operate the register can be kind of gruff, and they do not seem to be farmers or even gardeners - they don't have a lot of expertise about plants. It's nice that you can get bulk seeds there for cheap (they are in the bins behind the register), but make sure you write on the packet what's inside, because their handwriting is really hard to read, and they don't write a lot of details on there. The plants in the greenhouse are generally pretty healthy, I have gotten some good things from there. Would definitely recommend the greenhouse plants.

Great place to get feed and other items. I get my puppy's 5 in 1 shots here. They are always very nice and ask if I need help with anything. Support local small businesses! Prices are good in my opinion as well.

Went there to pick up bags of seed for my husband and was in and out in under 10 mins. It only took that long because I had to wait for a break in traffic to move my vehicle from the lot across the street to the front of the building for the gentleman to load them. Next time, I'll know to park on the street out front.

Good supply of garden, farm and animal products. Has a plant nursery in the spring, also have poultry available in the spring.Owners are friendly and very knowledgeable too.They carry grass seed for our area also, and some hard to find products, like hydrated lime as well.

Great place to get animal feed and supplies for a lot cheaper and better quality than the chain stores offer. Always buy local if you can! Support local businesses! The people in there will be glad to answer any questions you may have and share their knowledge with you. Again, support a local family!

This is a good, old school feed and seed store. A great place for vegetable garden plants as I have picked up collard and broccoli plants by the bunch for $3, about 30 to a bunch with a high rate of successful plantings. Also pick up seeds for many of my vegetables and they offer some expertise and pointers to boot. Friendly and helpful staff!

Went in on Saturday to purchase 500# fertilizer, out of 10/10/10, only had5/10/10/10. Out of pellitized lime as well.Purchased 5/10/10, they dropped it on the truck.Prices are in line, best to purchase during the week. When regular guy loads.
