Perfect day on the lake thanks to our fabulous pontoon rental from The Dock at SML! The boat was super clean and perfect for a fun family day. The Manager on duty gave us a great “tour” of the boat and provided many tips to help us navigate our day. If you’re looking to rent a pontoon, definitely check out The Dock at SML!!

Very easy to sign up for a boat. Jenny was great to work with. She called in advance to remind me of rental. Easy to pick up and drop off. Boat worked great. We had a nice time. Would recommend, highly!

Chris was awesome. Took care of us right from the start. He got us briefed on everything we needed to know about the boat, hooked us up with a tube, and turned us loose. Getting off the water was just as easy. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend renting from the Dock! Also, feed the carp while you're there.

The Dock is the place to rent from! First time renting a boat and they spoiled us! Easy check-in, Easy check-out. Friendly with Great customer service (and not just on site, We had trouble with the online rental portion and they worked with us very patiently). I will be recommending them to everyone I know! Great place to get ice cream and snacks and fuel. We rented a boat from them nice boat except that the depth finder and horn did not work. Also the boat does not come with an anchor. The staff was awesome and we will be back next year to rent.

The Dock at SML is a great place to get your rentals. We had so much fun being out on the boat. Staff was very pleasant and easy to work with. Our boat was great quality and affordable!! We would highly recommend using The Dock!

The people at The Dock are the absolute best! They came out and saved us today as our boat ran out of gas just around the corner from their place. They expected no fee and were gracious at every moment. It's a family-oriented joint and I wouldn't go anywhere else on the lake for my gas snacks and help! Thanks so much

Our experience at the Dock was wonderful!The boat was beautiful and in top shape. Chris was kind, knowledgeable, and so helpful. He even pointed us in the direction of some large mouth bass!

Awesome place to rent a boat! We had a brand new pontoon! Super clean and great price for such a new boat! Awesome people and great customer service! They were very thorough while explaining all the boat features and made sure we were comfortable with the boat prior to our day at the lake! We will be back plenty of times this summer!!

The folks at The Dock were awesome. Chris is very knowledgeable about the local area and the lake. The rental equipment is all top notch. All of the boats are new or like new and are in great condition. We rented a boat for two days and logged about 35 miles up down and all around the lake with no issues. I highly recommend The Dock at SML and will rent from them again.

Great boat rental! First time here and had a great experience. They took the time to take us out on the lake to show us the ropes. The boat rental was easy and our family had a great time on the lake all day! Highly recommended! Next trip we will be back.

New owners so it was a little different than past trips. Employees inside were very kind and helped us quickly and efficiently. The oldest employee (im assuming a manager)met us outside and asked if we were renting a boat. We had just come to see and feed the carp so we said no. Later as we were purchasing popcorn inside to feed the fish I heard her say loudly to the other employees that we weren't renting a boat. It was an odd comment to make within earshot of the customers. The two girls behind the counter were very nice and hospitable.

This is our second year in a row driving from Winston salem to the dock at SML and it's been great both times. Great hospitality and absolutely a beautiful place to explore. Defintely will continue coming back.

2 day pontoon boat rental was awesome. Boat came in great shape. Nav and depth finder were really useful for navigating a new lake. Chris (GM) is friendly and seems to be running a great operation. Highly recommend

The new iteration of this facility is a disappointment.They no longer sell alcohol.They no longer have attendants to tie off your boat at the fuel dock. They removed most of the cleats on the fuel dock.There is one fuel attendant on duty. She is grumpy.They removed all but two dining tables on the docks.There is only one person working the kitchen on a Saturday in July.They no longer make good food. My hot dog and bun were cold. My son’s chicken and waffles consisted of frozen chicken bites atop a frozen waffle.They will provide a disposable fork to eat your chicken and waffles, but a disposable knife is a bridge too far.I hope the new owners will restore this venue to its previous glory. I guess I’ll try it again next season and see if they’ve made any progress.

NEVER AGAIN! STAY AWAY! Me and friends of mine rent a boat + floaty. We tried it 2 times for the first 40 mins. The third time we tried it its was deflated. Personally checked where the issue come from, so the upper piece where the glue hold (weakest spot of each floaty) it was apart. We came back they gave us a new one. 2 days later we have been charged $250. When I called and explained the whole situation and ask them to prove is our fault, the answer was it is deflated that mean is your fault. I asked for a picture to prove this is ripped buy somebody, answer was you can drive 5 hours and come to check it. Our luck was to get defected floaty and got charge of $250, so they can buy new one. On the question in which case is not customer fault - there was no answer!

Charlotte and her UVA bound coworker were exception representatives of southern hospitality. And we agree the pizza is the best bang for your buck on the lake! Keep supporting this SML staple. The management might be new but the carp are still old friends.

I rented a boat on September 26, 2021 The boat Only had 3/4 of a tank when i got it, in which i didn’t worry because i’ve been there before and never burned that much fuel so I took a picture with the time on it. When i got back i told the little long hair guy about it and he proceeded to tell me oh they do that sometimes. Well this boat has what i think to be a 50gal tank i only burned a 1/4 tank the whole day like usual i had to fill 25 gallons up at 4.99 a gallon which was $125.00. I called 4 times to discuss this issue with the boss cause i never seen him there even left a name and number still no return call. Seems to me like someone went on a joy ride and i payed for it!!! i’m not ever going back to that rental company again

If I could choose 0 stars i would for this Dock. We came to this marina hoping for a safe place to store our boat. The lift we rented is an unsafe condition and the owners of the marina will not fix it. They will not return emails or phone calls to help resolve the situation. If we had known we would have never stored our boat here. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MARINA!!!! THE NEW OWNERS ARE ONLY AFTER THE MONEY!THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT PEOPLE OR THE LAKE

Our kids refuse to let us come to the lake without visiting the Dock at SML. Feeding the fish and grabbing a treat like an ice cream bar or bag of chips makes for a great break from the busy waters!
