The staff at the Orange County Rabies clinic is the best. The rabies clinic that was held was done professionally and kindly. The staff had smiles to share and moved the line along as quickly as possible. Job well done!

The friendliest staff and best service of any animal shelter around. We've adopted a few pets and they really go out of their way to find homes for their animals. They neuter them prior to adoption and are very reasonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a pet, as well as those looking for an organization to make a donation. They can always use food, supplies or cash.

This shelter has an unusual process, but just go with it! My husband really wanted a dog, but I was on the fence. I was hoping to go in, browse, and see if anyone felt like a fit. This shelter is appointment only, and I had to fill out a pre-adoption application before I could go. I was afraid this might mean they would pressure me, but they did not at all! Also, instead of going in and looking through all of the dogs, they bring the dogs to you. Although I felt a little bit weary of the process at first, I got one-on-one attention from an employee who was able to hear what I was looking for and match us with the right dog! We were paired with a dog who is perfect for our family, and we are so happy with him! It might not be the shelter experience that you're used to, but it's a great experience, and you get one on one attention that you would not get elsewhere!

Great place to give a fur baby a second chance at life, we have adopted 2 from there now and they are the most amazing babies.. the staff is very professional and also very helpful to ensure a peaceful adoption... would recommend them to anyone

I adopted one cat from the shelter before and I had a very good experience but the cat did come with me worms and I thought that was very unprofessional. I did get that checked out and she is a healthy kitty. They were a little mean but some of them are so sweet I would love to give them a fourth

Brought a neighborhood cat that my kids love. We think was hit by a car. You can clearly see he is suffering and they said if they took him , he would just sit in a cage until he died.... and that they don't have anyone to euthanize him . Seems like they just didn't want the problem.

It breaks my heart typing this but I wish so much that we had been warned. We adopted two kittens from Orange County through pet smart charities this summer. We found two sweet little cats and inquired. Although they had some records in their folder about things they had previously been treated for, nothing was written about current ongoing problems. We asked multiple times if there was anything we needed to know or do for the cats health and we were told that they were ready to go and the only thing we would need to do were rabies. This was the opposite of what happened. Within the first week they were incredibly sick and took them to the vet. They had several issues that were clearly ongoing and not treated. We’ve gone to the vets every month if not every two weeks. I do not think it is fair or right to have unhealthy cats available without serious discussions with those wanting to adopt. This has been a financial burden and has taken a serious emotional toll on our mental health as we have been dealing with all of these issues. It’s so disappointing and heartbreaking. We just don’t know what else to do.

They truly know the needs and personalities of their animals.They are honest and kind .Because of this fine place,our dog we just adopted has a trust in people and a relaxed attitude,which makes his adjustment to his new life so much easier for him and for us. I was considering giving a homeless dog a home for the holidays. I stopped in just as they were closing and was told they would be open the next day. I went back and was keep waiting just to be told I had to have an appointment online. I've gotten all of my dogs at animal shelters and never heard this before. I'll go elsewhere. This place is a waste of time.

The manager is great and very accommodating despite being so busy with all her responsibilities! I have two barn cats from here and they are friendly and the best little hunters. Consider barn cats from the Orange County Animal Shelter to keep rodents under control!

Awesome place with family atmosphere. We got our beautiful Lola AKA Daisy two weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Your Adoption fee is unreal for what you include. Lola is a happy girl with a huge appetite. Her tail never stops wagging and we couldn't love her more than when we first saw her. I'd like to send more photos when I can figure out how to. Thank you for our little love!!!

I was so happy with the adoption of 2 kittens (brothers) from this shelter. However, one of my kittens seemed like he was ill the day I adopted him. You could feel every single bone in his poor body along with a VERY swollen stomach. He was only 9 weeks old. I took him to the vet and the OCAS offered to reimburse the visit since the kitten was ill at adoption. My kitten just passed away this morning. All I’m saying is...don’t allow adoption of sick pets. You will do nothing but devastate the families. I am heartbroken and so is my other kitten. I lost my beloved friend and he lost his brother. RIP.

They were wonderful! I have 2 female cats (just turning 1 & 2), & 1 male cat. Haven't been able to get them fixed. Both females had a litter, 4 days apart. Now we have 9 kittens, 3 cats & 2 dogsMy daughter was posting on all websites, word of moutheymL. Had 5 kittens left so I took them to the Shelter and although they had just cleared a house of 30+ cats they still helped me out,Great bunch up at Dr. Tucker "s.but there'll always see out pets for their hrsty6llLll.....needs

Went to drop off a cat that we found on the side of the road, and the front staff girl who helped us was condescending and unfriendly. After we filled out paperwork and she took it with the cat, she left us standing there without a word. After 5 minutes we asked another staff person if there was anything else we had to do, and she had to look around for the other girl and then say yes we were all done. Not the most pleasant experience.

This shelter is one of the cleanest we have seen (compared to those in nearby counties). The people working there were very helpful to us and very kind to the animals. If you are considering adopting a dog or cat, I would highly recommend this shelter as a place to start your search.

I love this shelter. Their animals are well taken care of and they are no-kill. I adopted two of my kitties from here. Great place to get an animal companion.UPDATE: Sadly, they are NOW A KILL SHELTER 😢

Two very rude women, one is always at the entrance and is always unfriendly and condescending. The other women i believe is the manager and she was also condescending and talked down to and over us. An she REALLY looked down on us. Way to assume the situation, have more common decency, listen. Honestly really wasn't expecting that. 😕

I give the animal shelter 4 stars because me and my family went to go see the newest dog Sid. We got there about 5:40 and they close at 6:00. A lady told us that we couldn't see the dog because they were about to close and it was 20 mins till closing. So this is why I give the animal shelter 4 stars.

very unpleasant interaction with the one woman who works here. She was very rude and acting like we were a bother to her. Let alone the fact she left us outside waiting and wondering if we could leave or not. Not the best customer service.

My experience is with the OCHS (TNR) program after volunteering a couple years ago I’m so grateful for this program the program has allowed us to help so many Orange County residents who were-feeding feral cats and were unable to get them spayed or neutered.
