Both Food Lions in the area (Orange and Madison County) are the best! They are neat and clean, their produce sections are top notch and their meat section is varied. Their prices are fair and I don't think any neighboring grocers can match their sales! I love shopping there!

I just love the Food Lion grocery stores. They always have great produce, meats and great sales. And most times, there are people on the floor if you should need help. Always are friendly.

The store’s posted hours online and on their door are 7am - 11pm. I arrived at 8:50am and the store was closed. No sign posted about a closure. There were employees standing around inside, who rather than coming to the door when they saw me standing outside, just rudely waved me away.A simple printed sign explaining a delayed opening or unexpected closure would go a long way. It’s basic customer service.

The new store remodel helped this 20 some year old store a lot. Staff are friendly and efficient. Being as this is the only grocery store in at about a 20 mile radius it better be ok. We usually go to culpeper for any serious groceries at better pricing. We love Martin's and Lidl for meat and produce.

Honestly, this is one of the best food lions I have had the pleasure of shopping at. The employees are always so lovely and helpful whenever I go. Their pick-up service is a real life saver, and they do a great job picking out foods that I would have picked for myself if I had gone inside! I never receive anything less than the best! All of the staff is great, but I have to say that Dot and Darneasha (Sp...?) are FANTASTIC They always leave me with a smile on my face after our short interactions. It's nice to know that this location goes above and beyond for its customers.

Average grocery store. Produce wilts before u get it home or goes bad in 2 days. They never have the meat that's on sale by the time I get there in the evening. My personal favorite is being ignored for 5 or 10 min standing in front of the deli watching the worker wrap meat, put away icing etc and the look they give u when they say with a huff "Can I help u?"

This is a review on deli section only. Waited at counter while 2 employees talked back in the prep room. When the woman finally came to counter she just looked at me. Said nothing. "How may I help you " would have been nice even what do you want is better then a no one home stare. Not expecting any special service but obviously she knew how to speak, had just witnessed her talking with co- worker. Deli associates always rude in this store. Wasn't always like that. Rest of store employees and store good. Clean and nice staff. Don't know if they would act that way with a regional manager. ????

You all better do something about the older white woman with glasses who stares you down as you check out at self check out. She will comment on how you bag your groceries she will stare at you when it's time to pay. I wont keep my mouth shut next time. Control your dogs.

It was clean. The store well stocked and the check out lady was very very kind. We are from out of town, travel a lot and food lion is as always the store we look for to shop. The cashier made us feel welcomed. Sometimes when you travel it's not always that way...😳 Thanks for making us feel at home. You are a # 10!!!

Always a great place to shop. Very friendly employees, clean shelves, great items, and fantastic prices. Having the option to use self-checkout is nice, too. They're maintaining great safety during COVID as well.

It is a great store good prices.Lots of ethnic food products.If you are unsatisfied with fruits or veggies just return for double your money back.The cashier are friendly and will ask you if you found everything you wanted.Two of the cashiers are very nice and great they are my grandsons.

These people are like a second family to me! My husband hates when I shop here because a quick trip for a few things takes forever since I have to stop and say hi to everyone. The managers are fantastic and all of the cashiers work to check you out as quickly and accurately as possible. I can find nearly everything I need here.

Edit: I now only use food Lion for 1-4 items. My 200+$ shopping is saved for Walmart the price difference, The large selection and stocked up items Walmart has VS food Lion is incomparable. Food Lion has MUCH friendlier people/staff there but I shop for specific food and the best price. I'd sacrifice clean and mean for the price difference. Save yourself money and time make a trip into the dystopian Walmart territory and see how much more bang for your buck you can get. I'm not sure why I'm so passionate about this. Im just boggled how it's not out of business yet.The staff is great and nice, the place is clean. Of course the prices are high. But it's the only grocery store in town. The self checkout aisle could have some type of system where a line could be formed. Because when it is very busy and a lot of people are trying to do the self-checkout nobody is really sure if there's two lines or one line and it goes back into the aisles. In my personal opinion they should rope it off. And this is not a complaint towards the staff as I said previously they all have been very kind to me.

This place is awful. Employees don’t get there breaks. Which it’s a law and states in the policy. You have managers who sit at the front of the store and don’t do anything while lines are long. This place needs to get it together. Or someone’s going to call the Labor Board.

Pretty standard experience. I was there to send some money and took a while before I could get any help. A manager had to call someone to help me. The service was still good and I got the money sent so I'll give it that rating. In general the store has a good stock of everything although before snow storms they are left empty like any other. 😀

Much better store than the walmart in culpeper.. actually has everything in stock.. not shoulder to shoulder.. and prices are much better. Walmarts food is overpriced

They are a small town grocer. Not a huge variety, but good enough unless you need specialty items. Their coleslaw isn't great, but they sell the best blueberry turnovers.

Limited selection even when there's not a global pandemic. Never enough lanes open despite having employees standing around doing nothing, including not cleaning or making sure people are wearing masks and not crowding the check out lane. Only grocery store within 30 miles so they don't bother trying.

Very racist customer service people. From knowing people that work here and the games they play if your not in their group their two faced back stabbers. Will do my shopping elsewhere even if I have to travel farther. FAKE PEOPLE.

Food Lion is a great local store to go and get food. The staff are very friendly and competent on the various items that are sold throughout the store. They can tell you right away where the food is located and they can tell you when they will be available if they don't have them in stock at that specific time. I enjoy going to Food Lion and I definitely recommend it!

Long lines, only a couple of registers open. Counted 4 employees standing around talking when they should be helping customers check out. Update, store has not gotten any better. Store shelves are empty alot of times. That's why I drive the extra time to go to Culpeper, stores have everything.

I don't know what everybody else is talking about but my experience at food Lion was more than above and beyond I had a couple questions about where I needed to find some things the staff was more than helpful. I only eat seafood and all the product I found was fresh I am grateful and thankful for food Lion! RawR!!
