This location, like most, is cramped and hard to get around in. Too much money being made to have such a run down store that’s not even that old. Also, in the summer months the store is so hot food melts on the shelves. Despite the conditions the employees have always put on a smile and been helpful so this low rating does not reflect on them at all.

The story is fine and so is most of the employee's. But there is one 1 girl that works there that was just completely rude. She had dark hair and wore glasses. She laughed and rolled her eyes at us then she seemed to be trying to kinda b looking down her nose at us if u know what I mean. I hope 2 this store very often and I really hate 2give this review but it just really got to me and in case this happens to someone else I didn't want them 2feel like it was just them.

I like the appalachia store much better. At the big stone store I stood at the register for 5 minutes while the cashier stood outside and smoked and looked at me. I ended up just leaving my stuff at the register and walking out.she could at least open the door and said she'd be with me in a moment, but nothing.

Always like the prices and convenience but the duffield location has about half the selection of other d.g.stores and they still cant seem to get the inventory on the shelves, boxes sit in the aisles, unopened for days. And whoever the blonde woman who works there is, shes always too busy on her phone to be polite, or be bothered to ring you up ,etc...ive never in my life met a more discourteous person in a job like that. Its ridiculous that shes still emplyed.there.

Literally sucked..empty shelves, store is in complete chaos, stock sitting on buggys everywhere. Manager in his office, no one stocking shelves. Been trying for a month to buy my dogs treats and have to go to another town to do this. If you would employ people and let then work more than 9 to 15 hours a week, maybe this store wouldnt be such a mess!! Why build a new store and have it look like a dump? Shame on you Dollar General!!! Having said all this, cashier Jason, was polite and provided excellent customer service.

I recently moved to Wise va. And of course needed cleaning stuff and had planned on spending over 100 dollars at this store. Bit once I arrived ,I was overwhelmed by everything. My husband and I pulled up to find the employee smoking and talking to another employee about how hung over they was...next as soon as you walk throughout the door all you see is shelves of misplaced stuff,things look thrown on the shelves...never in my 25 years of retail management have I ever seen this. I did need up getting trashbags, only because I found them easily. When I went to check out,the guy was so damn rude I wanted to let him have it. Pathetic excuse for D&G...And there is no way the manager didnt know,pretty sure they were there as well. Corporate needs to pop up on this place .

The store I'll give 3stars to. Total lack of leadership managerially speaking. Couldn't find anything I was looking for until.... 5stars on one cashier. She was so nice and helpful. Went out of her way to help me. She's a young blonde and her name started with a P I'm sure of it. But help like that is hard to find and that woman needs a raise. I believe her name was Paige. Great customer service. I could tell she wasn't just tryin to hurry up and get rid of me. Very professional and y'all now have my business.For what it's worth. Thank you,Local shopper.

Very unorganized and cluttered. I couldn't find anything I was looking for and all the employees were too busy having an altercation in the parking lot with a customer over whether or not she stole a $5 drink. Very unprofessional. Last time I'll be there.
