Charlie was both lovely and knowledgeable about the plethora of ciders. I’m addition, very proud of all the accomplishments the cidery has achieved. Beautiful property with apple trees abounding. We enjoyed our tastings. Many varieties to choose from to fit all the palates out there. Plus, Charlie gave great recommendations on other things around the area.

We had an excellent day! The team was waiting for us when we arrived and they provided exceptional customer service! I would love to bring my team back again for another visit and stay longer. You could not wish for a better view to just sit on the patio and drink some drinks!

My husband and I stopped by at random with our 5 1/2 month old son and the staff were wonderful! It was nice and open when we arrived and steadily got busier as we enjoyed our cider. They have a lot of cider options and offer an assortment of small bites. Additionally, the staff answered my husband's many questions about the cidery, the process, and the estate itself. They specialize in dry ciders and had four different tasting menu options. The tasting is completed at the bar and are 1oz pours or you can have the ciders as flights with 2oz pours and relax at a table inside or outdoors. They are family-friendly and based on a working apple farm. Check it out!

Great spot! Very chill atmosphere, and excellent cider. They have beautiful patio and nice big lawn. Bring your own picnic or buy snacks from them. They even have a free range pup that is as chill as the rest of the place. 100% we'll be back.

Such a great first visit. The tasting room staff is attentive and they have great Covid procedures. The flight of four ciders I had (one of four flight options) was only $5, and the bottles are also reasonably priced and they offer 500mL and 750mL bottles. The ciders I tried were varied, interesting, and delicious! Can't wait to go back with friends for music or trivia!

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting Albemarle for a tasting. The ciders were great and not too sweet and have similar characteristics to some white wines. Definitely recommend to take a break from the wineries.

Lots of tables, inside and out.You can order a tasting or one of two flights. It was quiet when we visited and the staff was very patient with our tasting. Be prepared, these are serious ciders competing with white wine... Expect dry, not sweet.

Love this place! The most unique cider I’ve ever had. They always have something new on the menu and it’s always delicious. We got a flight and tried a few glasses off the menu. I love the CC1. They also have reasonably priced La Croix, which is the cherry on top. Live music and beautiful space to enjoy the day. Can’t wait to go back!

Evanescence’s song “Bring Me To Life” accurately describes my group’s collective sorrow after leaving this facility. This cidery, whilst classily appointed and clean, purports to boast a wide array of cider options however we found that to be extremely significantly departed from the reality. We all used our various electronic payment devices to procure both the standard and premium cider flights to permit a sampling of an eight-wide assortment of their varietals. However, despite our experienced and talented palates, we were challenged to experience any differential between each option. Each description regurgitated the same overly eloquent and unnecessary phrases (“minerality” appeared nothing shy of a quarter dozen times) and the flavor profiles, or lack there of, equally reflected this lack of difference.

Friendly atmosphere and a great small family business. It's worth the drive in the Fall for the beautiful scenery alone but worth it any time of year for the great cider.

Really nice place. Wasn't busy at all. Lots of outside seating. Server wore a mask and gloves. Cider was great. They said that they made mostly dry cider. It was great. $5 for a testing flight rocks.

Very good wine-like hard ciders. Also delicious regular cider and apples. Lovely tasting room, often with music. Friendly service. A great place to spend a few hours, or just stop by to make a purchase. Wonderful family run business.

The woman running the tasting bar was great, knowledgable, and super friendly. I met Chuck the head Ciderist (and owner?) and he knows a lot about the science, as well as the region and history in general - was a fantastic person to talk to. The ciders themselves are flawless and I wouldn't turn down a glass of any of them. They range from totally dry to semi-sweet, and the champagne style one is especially spectacular (though rarely open for tasting). You'll just have to try them all to figure out your favorite(s). Very worth stopping in.

Visited on a late Thursday afternoon in December 2019. I had a positive experience talking about the ciders with the tasting room attendant. CiderWorks specializes in dry ciders, which is different from Bold Rock's sweet ciders. They have an excellent apple blends to create their ciders. My personal favorites are "Ragged Mountain" and "Brut D'Albemarle." Be sure to try their non-pasteurized apple cider--delicious!Would recommend this place!

Lovely place we decided to stop on the way back home. Their speciality is dry cider and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. The service was also impeccable, and the landscape was lovely. We'll be back!

Albemarle CiderWorks is a wonderful place to visit. This beautiful setting offers a good variety of locally produced ciders, and the friendly, knowledge staff provides exceptional service. You can't go wrong spending an afternoon there.

It is a pleasant place, polite service, tasting options...all very positive. Just one problem: the ciders are terrible. It reinforces my conviction that dry-fermenting ciders is a bad idea. And virtually all of their ciders are dry or almost dry. Apples are not grapes; they do not take on the same degree of complexity and structure that permit dry wines. A bit of sweetness is necessary to add that missing backbone to a cider. But even the ciders they sell that do have a bit of sugar in them are no good. I had heard so many good things about this place but it was, for me, a massive disappointment. Of course, I seem to be in the tiny minority here, so apparently plenty of people like the dry ciders. But I stand by my opinion; this is a fine establishment with an unacceptable product.

The proprietors Bill and Todd Shelton are amazing! I broke down and coasted into their driveway. They checked on me several times while I waited for a tow truck. Bill climbed under my car to see if there was something he could do, and helped me pick a hotel. While breaking down is never fun, they made it a lot better than it could have been. I will DEFINITELY be looking in on them and will give them my business the next time I'm passing through. Thanks Bill and Todd!
