Adopted our kitty Kira at RAL. Facility is clean. Animals are well cared for, cages are clean, litter trays are clean, plenty of food and water available. Litters are kept together in larger cages so the kittens are not alone. All the kittens are beautiful. Staff is friendly and well informed. There is at least one vet on site. Kittens are neutered before adoption. The staff welcomes updates of your new kitten/cat!Note: as of 4/2023, the facility is undergoing major updating. Adoptions can be arranged by appt only. Your new kitten is waiting for you!Pictures are of Kira, our newest cat. She is a smoke black medium hair female. She has an extra long, extra fluffy tail! The last picture is her at RAL.

Awesome people here! Clare helped me specifically and was super knowledgeable and very helpful. The facility is very clean and well kept and the animals seem happy. 10/10 definitely recommend if you want to adopt!

I took my cat in to get spayed, the staff was super friendly but they only sent her home with 2 days of NSAIDS. A few days after the spay, she started vomiting blood. I took her to the emergency vet and they gave her more pain meds. When I expressed to RAL my concerns, they pushed them to the side. I will not be returning back for services nor do I recommend you take your pet here. My cat is now suffering from a stomach ulcer because of these careless people.

Great outfit in Chesterfield breathing new life into pets by offering second chances. They have some wonderful cats and dogs in need of living homes. Employees and volunteers are dedicated to the cause of animal welfare and are working to provide increasing opportunities for future pets and volunteerism. I recommend calling them if your organization or high schooler is looking for volunteer time.

The staff and volunteers here are knowledgeable and extremely sweet. The facility is clean and the animals are well taken care of. The adoption process is simple, and you can tell they truly love and care for all the animals here. They also offer a low cost spay and neuter clinic. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a new furry family member

My husband and I were recently dogless having lost the last of our 4 dogs in the last 3 years and the last two in the last 3 months. I spied Esteban on their website, and I was instantly captivated. The adoption process was easily done and thoughtfully planned given Covid. (PSA: Please consider getting vaccinated to protect yourself and your loved ones and the community).RAL has clearly dedicated a lot of resources to Esteban. We have had him a week now. When we saw him it was love at first sight for us and for Esteban. He has filled a large hole in our physical and emotional space. We took him boating (doesn't he look fetching in his doggie flotation device? I forgot I had it). He rides in vehicle like a champ. Rode in the boat like a champ. He'd get in a space ship and zoom to the moon if someone accompanied him--and he would find a place to snooze and snore. Donned his safety gear and paddled to the banks of the James River. Got back in the water and swam to the boat (all accompanied by me). He's a dog that we can go anywhere with and do anything with. If he can be with a family member he is "good to go".His transition to our home was one of the easiest I've experienced (and we've owned many many dogs over the years). Karuna was the adoption coordinator and Molly the foster (and behaviorist) and ensured that we were fully apprised of Esteban's history. They were wonderful communicators and are dedicated pet match makers. We definitely won the dog lottery with this handsome, fun, sweet and intelligent fellow. I think he feels he has won a lottery too!

I adopted my cat Lilly, from here in 2015 and my boyfriend adopted his cat, Waffle from here in 2016. The adoption process was fairly quick and easy. Everyone here was kind and helpful. I would love to adopt another pet from RAL

RAL is wonderful. They offer low cost spay and neuter. I just got my puppy neutered and the cost was over $200 less then the vet. They are a no kill shelter as well and take good care of the animals.

I applied one night for pet adoption and got a call the next morning. Saw the pet that afternoon and got it. Very friendly staff, animals were all calm and healthy. All other places we tried never got back to us or contacted us after someone else adopted thr pet we wanted.

Got my cute kitten from there. She already had all of her shots, she was fixed, and she came with a carrier, food, and litter! Very helpful staff and great prices! Also, easy adoption process, go in and come out with a pet same day!

When we were looking for a dog, they did a great job to make sure that everyone (including the cat and dog) would be safe and happy. The staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and inviting.
