So as you can see my boy Frankie has a big mouth & some big teefers! Of course I have tried many toys that he can not destroy within seconds, I decided to try the “Bionic” I was unsure at 1st, but I am now a believer😂 Frankie has kept this toy in tact & can’t stop chewing on it👏💪 I strongly suggest anyone w/Bully type breeds &/or strong chewers GET THIS TOY! I promise you won’t regret it! Muddy Paws has them in stock so I will definitely get my other pups the Bionic!

They have great pet brands in pet treats, kibble, and accessories. They carry simple ingredient pet food which I always look for since one of my dogs have food sensitivities. They have great customer service, knowledgeable in products they carry, and super helpful overall.

I used to really love coming here for products for my own cats, and the animals I take care of. But the cat section has been getting smaller and smaller which is super disappointing. The next closest pet store is Petsmart & that is 30 mins away with not the best options. I really enjoyed the quality of products, options, and close proximity of this store. Now it’s predominantly dog items so I only stop by for birthdays for the dogs I walk. I know it’s a store directed for dogs, but it used to have a really great selection of kitty items. Bummer.

Not my personal pet, but a poodle I work for gets her haircuts here every few weeks. They always do a fantastic job on her, I mean look how adorable!♡Her groomers are super friendly, and the attached retail store has all the things you could possibly want.

I would honestly give zero stars if I could. The staff was very nice. But I did not get what I paid for. It was an extra $10 for the de shedding and as you can see from the pictures my cats where not de shed. This was just from one of my cats. When I got home and noticed she was still shedding the same amount of hair as when I dropped her off I called and the lady I spoke with told me, after speaking to her manager, that I could bring my cats in later for a free brush out. The problem is I am leaving for two week. So I have to bring them in after that. I and just very displeased. I wasn't there while they where washing my cats, but I the only difference is their fur is soft and smells good. But they are shedding the same amount of fur as they always do. After spending $110 to have my cats groomed I am very disappointed. I ended up spending five minutes brushing one of my cats and those pictures where the product of that. Very very disappointed.

My husband had a life threatening emergency while we were camping on hatteras. He was airlifted & I came up here with my 2 dogs in tow. These people rose to the occasion to help me & called my veterinarian to get the health papers they needed to let my dogs be boarded while I deal with this situation. My vet is in Massachusetts. To know my dogs are safe is everything. I don't know what I would have done otherwise & I can tell you 2 other places blew me off

I take my dog Nefer here to get groomed and she always come back looking like a little cutie!!Keep in mind though that if your doggy doesn't like to be kept in a cage that it would be best to give her express or straight through treatment which takes only an hour but costs $25 extra.In total I paid $75 - I believe it was $35 base + $25 express + $15 deshed treatment. Very worth!

The sign out front says “boarding, daycare , training “ wanting my dog to be more behaved around cats,I walked over just to quickly ask the young lady who was letting dogs out to use the restroom did they offer training . She gave cold flat “no” I looked up at the sign and said” so the training part of the sign is incorrect?” To which she gave even more cold “yes” as if this was extremely inappropriate question or something . I’m tired of these businesses that look at black guys crazy when being approached for anything. I have a masters from ODU literally located across the street and my white mom has bordered her dog here many many times when I was in school, entirely from my suggestion after seeing it in passing many times.Yet again another place for the only for whites in a super diverse community . I’m no longer taking these events of obvious racism in stride I will one star every business I go through this at.

My 1 year old pup absolutely hates getting his nails clipped! Petsmart even turned him away because they couldn't do it... Muddy Paws got the job done with no problem. It may have took three employees but that is just a great example of their great service! A+ Rating from me!

We've been dedicated customers of Muddy Paws the whole time we've lived in Norfolk - all of the staff (grooming, store, and daycare/boarding) are wonderful. Much more reliable than a Rover sitter, and even occasional daycare sales if you pay attention! My only complaint is how much prices have risen over the last 5 years (25% increase in daily boarding costs), even with the obvious increase in customers/demand and reduced hours. But our pup loves it, and we'd rather shop local, so we've stuck with it.

I wish I'd known a long time ago that this place was also a store! I found canned cat food that I thought I could only buy in bulk from Chewy (Weruva brand)...I stopped in because they stock whole, raw foods, and they seemed like the most convenient way to order Blue Ridge Beef ground meats (namely, the ground rabbit).The food selection here is pretty incredible, and they seem to emphasize sustainable and/or US brands. I'm thrilled to have a local source, now!

Who's paying 140- 250 $$$$ for a 24 pound dog!!!! I think that she was trying to deter me from coming there. It worked. Wow muddy paws.

Store is nice, everything is very cheap. Grooming staff is friendly & accommodating. Only thing i would say is the store part is not the best place to take your dogs into. Owners dogs who are in the store behind the register are very aggressive and possessive of the space & their owner. So, bringing your dog inside the store is a big barking attack. Other than that it’s fine.

I have a Yorkie that was being groomed for the first time. Linsey did an amazing job beforehand talking about different styling option and I was blown away by the results! Not to mention the prices were pretty good I paid a little under $50.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Do not go here!My pups paw pads burned off and the owner has no regard, concern or shock that this happened to him, absolutely disgusting!!!Please do not risk letting an injury like this happen to your babies!!! He is in so much pain it’s absolutely heartbreaking

The ladies that run the merchandise area were wonderful I had gotten my hands on some really really young kittens and was stressed out and struggling and I went in there and I probably asked 7,000 questions but I left out better off than I came in and they were so helpful one of them went so far as to print off a recipe for a milk substitute for kittens from the computer and throw it in as a courtesy wonderful people

I went to Muddy Paws today because I got an older dog whose owner had passed. The people were so kind & so helpful! I was very impressed. As I was leaving the lady gave me a tennis ball as Riley had no toys to bring to her new home.She absolutely loves it & Muddy Paws will now be my go to shop for her needs & grooming. Thank you!

So, I’m back! I spoke to the owner, and instead of offering an apology at least for how my dog was sick and no one called me, I was simply told to board somewhere else. I’d advise anyone reading this to do exactly that. Board ANYWHERE else but here. They let anyone work here (if you can call it working) and instead of trying them, they blame the dog and ban YOU from boarding. I guess my dog was wrong to get sick there and i was wrong to be upset for not being notified about it and expecting an apology 🤷🏾‍♀️

When I called to schedule drop off for our dog I was told that since he just turned seven months yesterday that he would not be allowed to play with the other dogs but he would get one on one time with a trainer. Upon pick up I can honestly tell you that I do not think that they let my dog out at all to play or have one on one time with a trainer and that he was crated the whole time other than to use the bathroom (as far as I know) When I walked in to pick up our dog and told the girl the name of my dog she asked me “do you hear that”, I was confused as to what she was trying to say and then she said “he’s been doing that the whole time” (as in barking) like it was some kind of joke and she thought it was funny. Meanwhile I hear about 5 dogs barking and she was being very disrespectful for someone who is supposedly taking care of other peoples animals. I will not be returning. Then she rudely asked if we had scheduled to board him there for Christmas, I am assuming she was asking so that she could cancel since she had just told me that he is not allowed to board there until he gets neutered. She then proceeds to tell me that he had a few scratches on his nose/face because he was barking so much. HOW does a dog get scratches on his face from barking? I also want to mention that when I came to pick up my dog after boarding before I spoke with the rude woman there I saw another woman in the room behind the front desk yelling at the dogs to “shut up” because they were barking. I understand dogs can be hyper and upsetting sometimes but if you are supposedly a “trainer” and working with them directly, you should at least be qualified and be a decent human. Also I would like to mention I had already scheduled an appointment to have my dog neutered (since he just turned 7 months and the vet had told me no earlier than 7 months to neuter) and I had explained that I would not be boarding him until he was neutered, she could have been respectful and understanding but instead was condescending and just downright disgusting.I wish that I could think that I just had a bad experience one time but seeing/ having that happen to me & my dog was very upsetting and I will absolutely not be returning. I hope that no one else has the same experience I had and that things get better. I think that they need to have better training and customer service skills here and that maybe they should make sure the quality of their employees is a little better. Very upsetting.

I have been using Muddy Paws Grooming since I got my first dog in March, 2019. I now have 3 dogs and will continue to use their grooming services! They did a wonderful job with my 6 year old pit bull (80lbs), 1 year old mutt (45lbs), and 5 month old golden retriever (40lbs) today.They smell great, feel great, and look great. Their coats are soft & shiny, ears look nicely cleaned out, and their nails are nicely trimmed/filed. I know my dogs aren’t always the best behaved so I really appreciate the effort.I like that they can all go at once and it gets them out of the house while MaidPro comes to clean once a month.I also think $100 for all 3 dogs is a fair price.I would 100% recommend their grooming services (and store) to everyone!
