Cloud recently turned two and I can tell his anxiety about grooming has gone down significantly thanks to Ken at Groomingdale's, plus Cloud always looks and feels amazing thanks to Ken's patience, consistency, and skill. And they usually put such stylish dog scarves on him when he comes home! For our most recent visit, we'd been prescribed by our vet to give Cloud this mild sedative or antianxiety med before any kinds visits due to some recent observations. Ken assured us as dog parents that Cloud didn't need it next time and it may have been more stressful for Cloud to be on them. The feedback was given thoughtfully, and we'll trust in it for our next visit in 6 weeks.

Groomingdales is top notch! We have been taking our boys there for three years and couldn’t be more pleased. The groomers are so personable and love on the babies. They do excellent work! I highly recommend them!

I got my 4 month old puppy his first haircut and he looks absolutely handsome! All I had to bring was proof of his rabies vaccination. Scott did really well on the puppy teddy bear cut. The price was affordable (I’m a first time dog owner so I didn't know what to expect) but I’m overall very satisfied with my service.

Delaney was wonderful! The salon is clean, and well maintained. When I picked up Hades, and Mattis it was so fun to listen to her describe their personalities perfectly. I loved that she showed me photos of how stubborn Hades was being when she was trimming his nails. It shows that she loves, and is passionate about what she does. ❤️ They even put cute bandannas on them. Would definitely recommend, and will be booking future services with Delaney!

This place was absolutely fantastic!! I brought my shaggy little guy in during the walk-in hours, and we were taken care of right away. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. I came with his vet information, so in-take was easy breezy. I loved the results, he had no issues, and looked too cute after. This is my pup's new home.

Groomingdale's of Ghent is filled with kind, caring employees who work as a team to help your pet have the best experience possible. Our groomer Delaney has been amazing with our Cavapom, Pepe. She takes the time to listen to how we would like Pepe groomed and then follows through with a professional cut. Pepe's fur is so soft, and his nails are perfect. She loves her job and cares deeply about animals. Pepe even got a doggie jewel on his forehead. Delaney has an exceptionally high level of skill combined with an innate understanding of how to make dogs feel at home with her. We recommend Groomingdale's of Ghent for its unparalleled service.

11/14/2023 Today was my first experience with this salon. What a wonderful team they have working, from the time you walk in they are so attentive and listen to all of your concerns. Scooter my Shitzu is a rescue and came from an abusive environment. Scott immediately began soothing him with soft voice and petting. To my surprise Scooter allowed Scott to pick him up and off they went. What a great job Scott did , I will highly recommend this salon and will be coming back.This is the salon to have your fur baby pampered.

We have taken our pups to Groomingdales since we moved to Norfolk a little over a year ago. Em has been our groomer each time and she is fantastic. One of our dogs was abused before we adopted him. He can be skeptical of people and he LOVES Em!

They do a good job, but I have a little dog, and she had a few mats, not several, and we were charged 40 extra dollars for the mats, when she was pretty much just shaved down to less than a puppy cut. So other than being a bit overpriced in my opinion, she looks good and staff are very friendly. Other pets we saw seem ok to content being there, so that's a positive!

Ken always takes such good care of our little senior pup and does a great job, especially with our Yorkie's eyes, which are very sensitive and water constantly. Ken always asks how Royal is doing and loves on him to get him comfortable, which makes it easier for me to leave him. I know he's in good hands.

I am so incredibly pleased with my two Scottish terriers’ haircuts! The staff is professional and extremely friendly. I typically groom my boys myself but have recently moved and been unable to set things up to do so yet. I called and they were able to get BOTH dogs in for full haircuts in less than a week. The groomer I handed them off to was knowledgeable and listened to the things I said! They followed the clipper and blend lines I had previously set, and they came out looking EXACTLY the way I wanted them to. One of my boys didn’t even wanna come home, he was hiding behind some staff members at pick-up so he could stay and keep getting cuddles, ha ha. Worth every penny!

Took my pup for his first visit here yesterday. The staff seems friendly and efficient and the grooming salon very clean. Delaney was awesome, went over what would be done and gave me a timeline he would be ready! The timeline was incredibly accurate.When it came to sharing the price for everything, my jaw dropped. So, that’s the reason for 4 stars and not 5. I think it’s absolutely insane to charge $232 to cut some hair and shampoo a dog. We live in Norfolk after all, not San Diego! She was kind enough to offer the military discount (of which my husband is ex-Air Force, so that does apply). I appreciated that immensely.The reflection of stars for Delaney is a 5, but I just can’t get around how they even have consistent customers at this price point. I’d love to return, but it’s too expensive for my large pupper!Overall, my bub looks fantastic and she did an amazing job :)

We have been bringing our anxious dogs here for 10 years. It is the only groomer where they don’t have all-out panic attacks. Everyone is lovely and we especially appreciate Ken who has oodles of patience and kindness with our squirmy furball!

Hands down the best! My fur baby has been getting groomed at Groomingdales since he was 4 months old, he will be 2 years old in December. We started out at PetSmart however it didn’t work out. A family member told me about Groomingdales and we have been loyal customers ever since. He is extremely comfortable with his groomer Ken and everyone is like family. Always the best customer service, never any negativity or sour faces. Not to mention the quality of service is impeccable! I trust them with my son and I never have to worry when I leave him. I simply adore this place! Forever a customer.

I took my Maltese puppy, Sebastian, here today for a grooming after a few months of doing it myself at home. Everyone was so nice! I wasn’t sure what type of haircut I wanted for him, but his groomer, Kevin, went above and beyond to show me pictures for reference and made sure I had a good idea of how it was going to come out. The service and experience was 10/10. I love love love how the haircut turned out! They had a special package where they would take a holiday picture of your pup. I absolutely love this photo. Thank you, Groomingdales!!!! 💗

The front desk staff is consistently hospitable and patient. I think they use an IPad to schedule everyone and it’s awesome since I get my calendar notification immediately. They have reasonable matting policies and I’m sure other types of prefaces you may sign when you take your pup which I think help clarify the process for all parties.KEN IS AWESOME!!! He’s a calm, professional, and stylish stylist. He seems to really understand our dog.I hear a lot of friends and colleagues wonder about the expense, and I have to say it is so worth it.We’ve taken Cloudy-boy elsewhere and it’s been a lot of cutting corners and quicked claws (spots of blood) which breaks my heart.We’re happiest with Groomingdales, I can tell Cloud wasn’t stressed out by the process.The facility is compact, but incredibly efficient. Smells clean, dogs look and sound happy, all the other staff are great, too. And if you’re a fan of Jake’s place—a salon for men—it’s a couple doors down, they’re run by the same people I think. So, it’s like my partner and our dog go to the same salon 🤓

They did amazing! My baby Stewie gets matted pretty fast and has a really curly coat. They had him for about 2 hours and he came back looking amazing and happy! I’ve had bad experiences with groomers being to aggressive with my dog this is not the case here they are fast, efficient, and honest. 10/10 I’m not sure my groomers name but she did have colored hair and was awesome!

Made an appointment. Dropped off my two cats for coat combing, trim, bath…the works. At pickup they said they only did a nail trim for 1 of 2 cats…nothing else. The nail trim was $25!!! They said one of my cats hissed at them so they never took him out. Not sure why they didn’t do anything else. Disappointing…I would not recommend this place.

Very nice staff. But I had a disabled dog and I felt they were not as accommodating of his disabilities or his behaviors. Just felt maybe all the staff weren't as trained for special dogs as they claimed. Was my second time there with my dog and it just seemed different than our first visit. But again, really nice staff.

Our first visit was a very nice cut.The second visit I was a little disappointed in how they cut it. It just seemed uneven.So I decided to give them another try by going to the person who originally cut our dog, and despite asking the first time to please not shave her. She’s been very closely cut. Maybe not their definition of shaved, but definitely my definition of shaved. I did say I didn’t need much cut off. I even showed about a half an inch. Maybe my problem was a lack of communication. I just hope that they had the trimmer size saved in our profile.

My dog used to go to muddy paws because that is where her previous owner used to take her. She would pee on the floor and i would have to drag her in there. She would nip at the groomer and found out she was being mean to my dog and now she is scared of groomers. I took her to Groomingdale’s and they worked with her to gain back her trust. They are the most caring, patient groomers i have ever met and i love them for treating my dog with the love she deserves! They are simply amazing and she always looks amazing when she leaves

Looking all over the Hampton Roads area and not being able to find an available groomer, I called Groomingdale’s and got an appointment very quickly. We were running late, but the staff still took my 2 dogs in with no problem. They were a very professional and friendly staff! Sadie got the works, while Chulo got a bath and nails trimmed but we are very satisfied with their services. We will be returning.

I’ve taken 3 dogs to Groomingdale’s for years and I’ve always been satisfied. Two Yorkie mixes and a German shepherd. They have fair prices, lovely people that work there and excellent results.
