Every time we go in there we get the rudest cashier. Even when we use self check out, something is wrong with them and it needs assistants. Whether the scales off, someone just left without a receipt or we are buying alcohol the cashiers can’t be bothered and even when you’re nice to them it’s a problem to be in that store. Rather pay the toll and got to Portsmouth to Food lion in London Blvd where people are nice and always helpful then have to deal with angry people at this location.

Only issue is, when your at self check out, they watch you like a hawk, it makes people feel uncomfortable. One associate kept walking back and forth watching me. Take self check out away if you need to do that. I'm a regular there, no need to steal.

10-27-2023 - Was there around 12:30 ish. Just went for a few items. I like to know why this place seldoms has Mountain Dew Zero? Hardly ever and today there was none! Never can find anyone to check to see if any in the back. I also would like to know why do they stock the individuals milk on the very top shelf of the refrigerator? That is also almost always empty but to make matters worse a short person like myself can not reach that high! Then I go to checkout. No cash register lines are open. None. Zilch. Only self service was open. Why do I have to do someone else's job? Why do I not get paid to do that job? I don't even get a discount! Don't tell me a shortage of people. Workers all over the place talking or playing on their phones.

This location has great looking produce. Though peaches aren't in season at the time I'm writing this, they have peaches bigger than softballs. The staff here is always kind and engaging, even at the end of the evening—which is refreshing when shopping after having a long day yourself.

Customer service is a negative. Waited in the customer service line with no associate at the register. No sign to stating they’ll be back, nothing. Waited at least 10 mins before the lady behind me knocks on the office door for someone to come out. The girl comes out and says don’t knock on the door then proceeds to say we trying to count the draw it’s a lot of money. Mind you we can hear them laughing loud in the office. Finally the bagger goes to the door to see what is taking so long. The bagger lady was good she was just coming in from outside and tried to do her due diligences and help the situation. The same lady comes out and says you have to come back later the system went down, didn’t even ask what we were there for. Very poor customer service at the service desk.

This Food Lion has great produce. They offer a large selection of peppers, onions, citrus, fruit, berries and even fresh coconuts. Conventionally grown and Organic options. The staff at this store is friendly, knowledgeable and truly helpful. I am under 5 feet tall, so getting items from the top shelf normally requires assistance...but the employees offer to help me, even before I have to ask. There are four self check out registers. This store can be very busy in the late afternoon and evenings. I prefer this location over the one closest to my house, because their produce department has such a great selection. They do a good job at keeping their shelves stocked. The parking lot has lots of potholes... The owner of the shopping center should fix that. This Food Lion is worth visiting if you are making anything with fresh produce. I can not say enough good things about the employees working at this store or the management who are obviously promoting customer service to their staff. I truly appreciate employees who can help you find things in the store. Who know their inventory.

I have to admit Never been a fan of Foodlion, I shop Kroger and Lidel Mostly. But, since I've learned how to get cash back and do digital coupons and so far saved close to $900. I'm Excited. The customer service is Fantastic, employees are helpful, courteous and go above and beyond if I'm looking for a specific sale item and it's sold out, they will go in the back and see if anything is available. The Deli has Gotten way better than it was a year ago. You gotta Try Bruchetta Turkey though, AMAZING. QUALITY, Convience, AND Wonderful helpful employees. I'm a regular there now

Look... Food Lion.. it's not working.. we're going to have to our separate ways. There just isn't enough cashiers at this specific location to keep going on. And then the only cashier has a goofy attitude. Which I don't even blame her, I would have an attitude too if I had a line out the door and 4 registers closed. That doesn't mean I want to deal with her goofy attitude, but I get it. It's not you.. it's me...that was a lie.. it's you. Veggie aisle is on point though

Bought a prepaid debit card with cash. They took my money and didn't activate the card. Now they won't let me return it and fix their mistake. Scammed me out of $100. Not coming back.

Food options are good, I can normally find what I'm looking for. All of the self checkout machines are annoying though and make it hard to leave in a timely manner sometimes. It was cool at first but they should hire actual people

Just left because it was a shift change but stood in line for 10 mins no came but employees still ringing up other customers while they carelessly strugg their shoulders as if I am the inconvenience. Even The Manager Was Looking Silly As Well. DO NOT GO!

Checkout closed to all but self serve at night. Employees standing around" in case you need help" (ie:to make sure you don't steal) if you're not going to have registers open please post on the front door, a timesaver as I will not use self serve and will leave my cart full to be re-shopped. Food on the floor in front of shelves ready to be stocked.... FOOD ON THE FLOOR...

This grocery store is ok but, they are all high right now. I expect that is because of this crazy government in control of things right now. They have put so much pressure on the trucking industry with all their new green deal restrictions that it is making it hard for truckers to work & get the products picked up & delievered on a timely manner which prickels down to the consumer affecting our wallets & their shelves. Just so this government can do their fear tactics making society think there is a shortage but the real story is, their new green deal & ideologies for total control of society by making people think there is a food shortage & that is the root of the price issue in our grocery stores. Meat prices are crazy everywhere.

Shelves were poorly stocked. However, many stockers were at work. Aisles were blocked and I saw one stocker toss a case of Cheez-its. I certainly don't want any of those crackers. Only one full service check-out lane was open and the line reached the back of the store. Four self-service check-out stations were in operation with one attendant. The slow equipment and customers' unfamiliarity caused a line to build there as well. Food Lion is better than this and hopefully it will be better next time.2-13-22 Our visit was much better. Stockers were working, shelves were much better. 5 full service lines were open and moving smoothly. We had a large purchase ($300) and we're quickly and politely checked out. I'm sorry I didn't get the clerk's name.9-13-22 I found everything I was looking for and quickly checked out. The cashier was pleasant.

Had to get our own carts and I had to hold two babies while my aunt and grandma went out to get carts because they couldn’t hold them… asked a employee to get a cart and they said no and they were NOT short staff.. everyone that came in after me were complaining too about the same thing. The employees complained about it and got attitudes. Like get better management !!

This Food Lion is well stocked but go before dark. There are several homeless folks in the area. They don't want food because I have offered. They will yell at you if you come past them without giving money.

This Food Lion is always a great grocery store. Great selection and nice staff. I always prefer this Food Lion and a few other ones versus the others I have been to. It’s also really close to home. Parking is great here and it’s not too crowded most of the time.

People stop sleeping on Food Lion thy really have some good deals. They store is less crowded and the cashiers are so pleasant. I hate chaos and that is what l have been running into at Walmart lately and the rudeness of the people and the employees has gotten really bad. I try not to go there if I can help it. So if you are feeling this way too come on back to Food Lion you will be glad you did.
