You called her Penny but I renamed her Charlie and she is doing very well in her home. She is learning things very quickly and with her Ghostly Yellow Eyes she is truly a joy for us. She is great with other people we meet and just wanted you to know that Pretty Penny is doing great.

We went on May 18 to drop off some donations we had lost our Elvis on May 10. My husband was the first time there. So he wanted to see the dogs they have. So we went in and saw the dogs I was there the previous Tuesday to drop off the first part of the donations. Went through to see all the dogs. Honestly, people need to stop breeding pit with other breeds Pit Bull are just amazing when their pure breed..So as I walking down the dogs the first 5 were the same and their was this new one and I reading his page I was like wow he gets along with other animals š» great. And he just gave Our Elvis's eyes.So we ask for a visit he is a mix of Yorkie and mini schnauzer his name is Kendrick. We got the visit and it was a wrap we adopted him right there.Kendrick found his forever home!! He is a spoiled dog as our cat carrot.

One of my favorite places in VA. Amazing petting zoo. Very nice people. Not expensive to visit and see very cute animals up close. You can get a ticket to zoo and container of food for under $10 per person. All donations go to the animals.

I came here looking for a kitty to bring home and the staff here were so helpful. The person with the cool haircut and dark brown hair helped me adopt my cat Fish (formerly succulent) and they were so kind and made the process so easy and quick. They also gave me tons of goodies to bring home and a bit of food for her as well.Iām so happy I was able to find my forever kitty here with the help of the staff š she is so snuggly and so vocal! I love her dearly. Thanks you guys for all that you do!

I love the ASPCA because the staff are always so nice and help you fing the right pet. I really wanted a cat, and the lady working there helped me find Gus. My mom will not let me have a cat, but every weekend my grandparents take me to go see him. It is always fun to be there.

Customer service has been poor since I first started bringing my shorkie here. He was neutered a year ago, and I asked that they clip his nails during the visit. I went to pick him up, and the front desk staff weren't very attentive. In fact, they acted as though I was interrupting them. I was handed paperwork and that was about it! They don't act like most animal lovers that you see at any other veterinary offices. I read the papers and asked if his nails were clipped prior to paying the remainder of my bill and was told he was too aggressive, so they couldn't clip them. I was confused, he's all of 10 pounds and also wondered why they just didn't do them while he was under anesthesia? Im sure he was scared after waking, which likley was the readon he may have acted out. They didn't have an answer, which made me wonder if they even tried at all! I went there today for a 12:15 appt and sat for 40 minutes before they took him in. He needed a rabies shot and blood draw to test for heartworm. They came out with him about 5 min later and told me they could only do the rabies vaccine because he was acting aggressive, super anxious and claimed 3 of them had to hold him down for the vaccine ! Again he's 10 pounds mainly all fur, he may have been anxious sitting in the car for so long and then being taken away from me however I'm sure if presented with a small treat he'd have been just fine. He's not vicious at all! Clearly they don't have patience and aren't willing to put forth a little effort if needed. Of course I was told it was up to the vet and that my dog would need to be sedatedš³ mind you he's been there before and had the same things done without a problem! Not worth the time spent , the poor customer service or the aggravation just to save a few dollars. We won't be back.

Recently adopted a cat (Tulip) from here. I couldn't be happier. As far as the process of adoption goes, it was pretty straightforward and didn't take long at all. They give you some cool things when you adopt, such as a complimentary vet visit. Everything has been absolutely perfect with my new pet too. She's gotten very comfortable here at home!

Had a wondeful experience. Goats are a little jumpy but the bunnies and birds made up for it for my toddler. If you love animals go here! The fees for the petting zoo help the shelter!

Last year I got my eldest cat neutered here, which was 5/5 stars. I called again this year to get my youngest cat neutered and they did not call me back after leaving a voice message 3 times. Even had my boyfriend call and he never received a call back.

The place is great. I enjoyed myself. I think its for for teens and adults. My kids was scared because the goats are kinds aggressive. They dont bite but they will jump on you. Or try to hit each other for the food.

SPCA did an excellent job in spaying our Hachiko. The surgery was done on the 22nd and today is the 25th of Nov and she is already doing better. Able to wag her tail, all around the house and a happy dog again. Cone is still on tho.Samantha is my contact from setting up the appointment ātill surgery day and she is a wonderful and an asset to SPCA. Thank you Samantha for a very good mama dog service and to the Vet surgeon Dr. Houlton who did a great job on the surgery.

This place was fantastic. Fast friendly service, very good with my dog. My dog was completely comfortable with the staff and after appointment wasn't scared or nervous. All animal clinics should be based on this place. Well done and thank you to the staff

I took my daughter to the petting zoo here 2$ to get in 3 and under free. You can get a magazine about the area and it has kid free with adult purchase. Petting zoo opens at 11 am and closes at 4:30 pm. You can buy 1$ containers of food to feed the animals. My daughter had a blast running with the animals, petting, feeding and playing.

The adoption process was smooth and easy. The staff answered all the questions we had. Lola was returned twice to this center. She was such a scared pup who suffers from major anxiety and there were signs of abuse from previous owners. Now she is spoiled beyond means and her personality is really starting to show.

Love this place! From being greeted by goats to snuggling up with bunnies, itās very very worth the $3. My only request is they extend the hours. 11-4 are tough hours for kids.

A receptionist of yours, I believe her name is Katie (6/15 two long blond braids, blue pullover, grey sweatpants, cream with black polka dot shoes) was incredibly rude to a foster to adopt parent this morning. There was an oversight made by whoever signed the young woman up to foster, accidents happen. She wasn't told she needed written permission/proof that her sweet fur baby could stay with her. The receptionist I described above made it sound like it was the foster parents fault, took no responsibility on the shelters behalf due to the initial error made by staff, made it sound like the foster parent wouldn't be given some grace to correct the issue before her fostered furbaby would be adopted to someone else, then when the foster parent started crying saying she didn't know what to do that receptionist just walked off....The receptionist would do well to remember she is representing a charitable organization. This is not the first negative encounter i have witnessed her have with someone and I myself have had numerous odd negative encounters with this receptionist and have witnessed her turn her customer service voice and demeanor on and off at will so this really doesn't feel like a misunderstanding of social cues or something like that. The saving grace this morning was Ashley. After the first receptionist walked off she salvaged the situation the best she could. I have also seen her interact with various people and she always does her best to help. I think the first staff member I brought up would benefit from taking notes from kind compassionate people like Ashley.I think management helping the foster parent correct this issue and an apology would be a great way to fix the issue.

CLEARLY THIS PLACE IS RUN BY RADICAL LIBERALS THAT PREFER TO TREAT PEOPLE LIKE WE LIVE IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY! Had a scheduled appointment this morning for blood work and health screening for an older jack russell. Upon arrival a staff member met us outside with some paperwork. She informed me that no pet owners were allowed in their building since COVID. My pet is a rescue, is elderly and not in the best of health. He has significant separation anxiety. I donāt know of any other business establishments with this ridiculous policy in place. What are they hiding? How do they allow people to adopt pets if no one is allowed in their building.. I will no longer support this establishment. The only way to stop this abuse is to BOYCOTT any business with this type of policy including withholding donations!

If I could give this place a 0 star I would staff is extremely rude and are not willing to work with schedules. Asked a question and got an extremely rude answer by who I assume is the assistant to the vet. I use to love this place this new staff is HORRIBLE do better.

My visits are quick but efficient. I always leave there feeling like my dog has the care he needs without someone ripping me off. The vets and staff are helpful and informative. They truly care about the pets and take great care of them. Their prices are also pocket friendly so you can keep up with pet visits without breaking your budget.

Loved my experience here. I adopted a cat that had been there for over a month and for some reason, no one wanted her. Her name is Sally and sheās an all black long hair domestic cat. When I adopted her, the SPCA gave me anti anxiety medication to give her, which I only gave to her once after getting her home as it seemed it made her drowsy. Since then, she has opened up and is the sweetest cat Iāve ever met. Iām thankful for the SPCA for taking care of her until I met her.

Peninsula SPCA saved my dog. He needed to have foreign body surgery. They fit him in to the schedule the next day. My dog had lost a lot of weight, so he was having trouble after the surgery. They even helped get him checked in at the Animal Emergency Hospital to ensure a successful recovery. Lou even checked in to make sure my dog was okay the next day. They were reasonably priced and cared about my pet.

I've been here several times to treat my cats. They've gotten their vaccines and have both gotten fixed here. The vets are super nice and helpful. With Covid they have taken extra precautions. You now sit in the parking lot while they take your animal in. This doesn't bother me at all! Definitely check them out if your animal needs vaccines or to get fixed!

I brought my two kittens in for neutering yesterday. The staff was outstanding, everything explained prior to, right after surgery with a call, and at discharge. Excellent care and the costs are are certainly budget friendly. They follow covid protocols. I will definitely come back to purchase medication for my pets & merchandise at the store on site.

We adopted a dog from here not even 3 weeks ago and absolutely adored him. He was just the sweetest thing. We brought him here for a routine teeth cleaning today and he did not survive. The vet said the dog would need a teeth cleaning. They should really give the animals what they need BEFORE they are adopted to prevent things like this from happening. He was very healthy. They have great animals to adopt but I would not recommend bringing a pet here for surgery. The vet felt the need to keep telling us how she's only lost a few patients, while we were crying over our lost furry friend, so annoying and insensitive.

As former employee, I can say that barnyard animals were generally taken care of , however I was surprised to find out that they were not rescued farm animals, but purchased.Manager made joke about some of them being bought just before slaughter.Parakeet enclosure is facade, as no one sees the deformed and dying birds in the background. Many of them are flying outside the poorly constructed enclosure, and a daily duty was to check for dead birds.Rabbit enclosure is equally disgusting, as they live in filth.Mission of the place is amazing, regarding cats and dogs.Humane education and simple decency regarding barnyard is nonexistent.
