Great Veterinarians and Staff! I love this place they are very attentive and patient with my pet's anxiety and provide the most outstanding care. They treat Rockee like family and care for him so much he knows his docs by name lol. Looking for a Vet definitely check them out they are a fear free clinic for pets very relaxing environment and affordable too.

This place is incredible! The way they handle and treat my dogs is so gentle and caring. I have a rescue who can be a bit challenging due to extensive abuse prior to rescuing and they are so patient and thoughtful. They take notes on things that bother her and ensure to avoid that action. They also treat my Malinois and she just loves them. She no longer hates the vet. They will care for my dogs for as long as I live here!!

I have been extremely pleased with the Clinic. I came from a Clinic off Hampton Highway after that clinic harmed my dog, and it admittedly took me a while to commit to another clinic due to my trust. My dog had to receive emergency surgery and the animal hospital recommended me to Kiln Creek for follow up care. At first I was a bit confused on how their clinic worked, but as I started going through the processes, I became so impressed. First, everyone has to stay in their car and call in to let the clinic know they are there. I thought this was related to covid but quickly learned that they do this so that there are not a bunch of pets in the clinic at the same time (barking at each other, making each other nervous, etc). I thought that was extremely thoughtful and unique. As i was placed in a room to be seen, i noticed posters and informative media that explained how their clinic was run. One of the informational posters advocated for their staff. It spoke about how abuse from patrons was not tolerated and it spoke about how hard it can be to be in their jobs, and that suicide rates tend to be a bit high due to what they see and go through. I now see a clinic that advocates for not only the pets, but the staff. This is amazing to see. I then learned that when you have completed your visit, you pay in the very room you are seen. you do not have to worry about trying to hold your pet and watch other pets in the clinic while standing at a front desk to pay. Another very impressive and thoughtful policy they have put in place. Inside the rooms there are posters that explain what steps the clinic takes to make your pet comfortable, including the staff intentionally wearing clothing in colors that are less stressful for your pet, playing music that has shown to help calm your pet, and even having scents throughout the clinic that can support stress relief and relaxation. The clinic fed my dog puppuccinos (cool whip in a cup) and EZ Cheez (cheese in the can) as a treat for his blood draw and immunizations.Myself and my dog went through a lot when he became extremely ill, had emergency surgery, and then needed follow up care. One time I went in for an appointment, although not rude, I was very stressed and overwhelmed, and the staff was so forgiving and patient with me. The staff is amazing, and Dr. Spannagel even got on the phone herself to discuss with me an alarming concern I had that turned out to be nothing. I appreciate her so much. They are also accredited by the AAHA. I will now only take my dog here and I recommend anyone else there. My Dog is a service dog I received when returning from a 15 month deployment to Kabul. I need to have him as long as possible to function daily, and that added another layer of stress to him being sick. I cannot say enough just how grateful I am for this clinic and their attentiveness, thoughtfulness, and consideration to our pets, their owners, and the clinic's staff.Thank you all and look forward to seeing you again.I have attached some of the media referenced.

Our new family member Birdie Washington, who is an active mini dachshund has loved going to Kiln Creek Animal Care, like she was meeting with family. Birdie has always been so relaxed and happy during every visit. She just wanted me to tell every pup that Kiln Creek Animal Care is fun, you get whipped cream. So trust Birdie Washington, she is happy & healthy, thanks to her great care.

We’ve only been coming here since last year but after our first visit we decided this is our new vet! They are fear free which is so comforting. The staff is friendly and attentive. They treat your pet as one of their own and they’re kind which is very important to me. They are knowledgeable and can always answer any question(s) I ask. My cat likes coming here because they always give him the good treats and lots of attention . 😉 Don’t look around anymore, this is the place to go!Here’s my baby, Leo. 💕

Kiln Creek Animal Clinic is by far the best veterinary clinic I have ever experienced. They always put my pets first and treat them like there own, which is such a relief because I always want my babies to feel safe. This clinic in the short time I have been going here has gone above and beyond in every way imaginable and I can't say enough amazing things about them. If your looking for the best and most affordable care for your pets THIS IS THE PLACE!! My only regret is that I didn't find them sooner

Our pet Aussie was taken care of by very friendly accommodating staff. The check up was very thorough and we were happy with all treatments administered. The rooms are kept very neat and clean too. Service was prompt in arrival.

Absolutely love them at Kiln Creek....We moved here in September and had to find a new vet for our fur babies. We have had 2 unplanned visits for 2 of our babies. They got us in right away. One visit was the day after Thanksgiving when our pomaweenie's eyes went cloudy overnight and he lost vision. Thankfully, he is okay and is turning a corner. They are prompt, caring, knowledgeable, friendly, and feel like family. I am so grateful I found a wonderful veterinarian office with amazing staff for our babies. Dr. Chris is amazing♥️

tldr; Dr. Cutler is amazing! I have a reactive dog that is difficult to work with. Because of that, vet visits are always a nightmare. But everything was different with Dr. Cutler and I had no idea how smoothly a vet visit could go.On the intake form, I was asked about my dogs needs, where he likes to be touched, how he likes to interact with people and what surfaces he is comfortable standing on. When I arrived for my visit, it was very clear that the staff read that and took it seriously. The room was set up to meet his needs and the staff was kind and gentle with him.Dr. Cutler offer my dog medicine that really helped my dog cope with the stress of the visit. We have seen at least 5 vets in his life and no vet has ever offered these medications to us. It was great because for the first time ever, I was not spending the entire visit holding my dog down. I was able to talk with the doctor and staff. Which will lead to better outcomes because it the past, it was so stressful my dog and I were just trying to get out of the office as fast as possible.During the vet visit, Dr. Cutler laid out options for testing and treatment and allowed us to consider what worker for us. The staff priced everything out during the visit and checked with me to make sure there was not a shock at the end.We will be moving all our pets to Dr. Cutler!

The communication/information was effectively explained. The Staff was very friendly and professional. The facility is nice, clean, and well organized. There was not a long wait period for my fur baby to be seen and they treated him well. This was a great first impression! I will definitely recommend them to others.

I would rate them zero stars. How can an appointment need to be rescheduled after being 5 minutes late? A FORTY MINUTE appointment is jeopardized by being 5 minutes late. I understand that they have a process, but advising my daughter about the restrictions beforehand would have been helpful. The email provided not only gave the wrong time for the appointment, but then they wanted to penalize her 98$ for a missed appointment fee after driving from Virginia Beach to Newport News (gas) to see this “exceptional” veterinary clinic. I am so disappointed and will not be using their services in the future.

We all face hard and difficult times in our lives. Thank goodness that we have amazing people that will help us and do so lovingly. Kiln Creek Animal Hospital is one of those places where we found everyone to be loving and caring.Last month, our beloved Priscilla caught pneumonia.  We had been fighting it but she just couldn't recover. Her breathing got worse by the day and then the minute.  Yesterday, Priscilla took her last breath in peace and knowing she was loved and part of our family.Kiln Creek Animal Hospital did not know her or us but they helped us at the last minute on a late Friday afternoon when no one else would. They were loving on the phone, at their office and were supportive, caring and loving afterwards. We are grateful to everyone here.

The staff members are super nice and very compassionate. The medical professionals are as well. I love the fact that they have a vet on duty all the time and I have been able to get same day appointments. They took such amazing care of my pup when she was injured. Honestly the worst experience I have had with a vet. The office reeked of pee. I have brought my dog to certified fear free vets before and have never been told my dog is so nervous that she needs anxiety medication for future visits or that she is so nervous that they “can’t get a good look” at what I brought her in for. I have regrets agreeing to take the medications home and supporting the idea. I want my dog to be comfortable, of course, but I know my dog more than the people who were in the room with her for 5 minutes.

We needed a vet appointment because Oliver wasn't eating and hardly drinking. We were able to get a same day appointment which was a big relief. He is normally terrible at the vet and needs to be heavily sedated to even be examined. This clinic is fear free certified and I think it really made a difference! He didn't need to be sedated even for blood work and xrays. The staff was spectacular and got him feeling better. I will be taking all our pets here from now on!

Brought my cat in to be seen- Kiln Creek was the 4th vet my cat had been to since ownership, and by far I could strongly notice how relaxed/calm my cat was with the Staff. staff was fantastic- if you are on the peninsula, I would highly recommend making them your vet!

I took my senior cat here and found out that he had oral cancer and was about to die. Despite the terrible occasion, they were super friendly, professional, and did all they could to make sure he had a few more days with me on earth. The visit before the bad news they even texted a picture of my cat because they thought he was being cute after his meds which made me smile, so I attached it with this review. When it was time to put him down, they made it as easy as it could be for someone losing their best friend. After my cat passed away, I received a hand written letter with a sentence or two from many of the employees there. Because of that act, I decided to bring my new kitten there after a month or two of grieving. They have been great with my new kitten, who had an upper respiratory infection, and didn't prescribe medication right away to give his body a chance to fight it off naturally. That didn't work so I had to go back, and got medication, but I feel that their actions were always the right ones. They make sure you understand what's happening, and make the lines of communication super simple by accepting paperwork or appointments via text messaging. My kitten isn't very scared of people, so the whole fear free certification was never something I sought out, but they have a little cubby cats can hide in, provide toys for them to play with, and have good treats to help reward animals with positive reinforcement. This is the only vet I've really been to, and when talking with friends in the area, I think it's the only vet I would ever need. They really do seem to care.

I was so excited to go to kiln creek today and meet our new family! Everything started off great with the staff at the front desk. They were so friendly and welcoming which was an absolute relief because I was nervous. They set the perfect tone just for it to be ruined by my pets Doctor, H. Harrison. After verifying with two different veterinarians I realized I received a lot of misinformation from her and it also didn’t seem like she was able to accept that people have different views and opinions than hers. I felt like she was judging me the entire time just because my choices on what I do with my pet and how I take care of him differed from how she would do it. It’s fine to have personal/different beliefs but she shouldn’t have let that keep her from being professional.I grew up with all kinds of animals but it’s my first time as an adult with a pup of my own.Found a new vet who is very professional despite their personal beliefs and Rocky is on schedule and well taken care of.

Complete misdiagnosis and treated like the situation wasn't urgent. I didn't get anything resolved here.My pet actually had a serious condition that required an MRI, which a different vet office noticed as soon as I brought my pet in for a visit.

They have been nothing but kind and helpful for our cats. We moved cross country and had issues getting records of vaccinations and they took care of it for us and helped diagnose our one cat with anxiety. Will be using them in the future for more visits.

My husband and I recently visited Kiln Creek Animal Care to put down our elderly dog and the staff was incredibly caring and informative throughout the entirety of the process. About a week after the appointment we received a sympathy card in the mail with handwritten notes from all the employees. We recently moved further from our previous vet and have been looking for a new vet for regular visits, so we will definitely be returning with our other pets. It was a very sweet gesture, especially for not having been to this vet before. I found out after that a coworker also uses Kiln Creek for their vet and only had positive things to say as well. We look forward to continuing to use Kiln Creek in the future!

I'm a first-time puppy dad and Dr. Crist and the entire staff were absolutely amazing for Chance's first vet visit.Not only were they friendly and loving with him, but their approach to making him feel very comfortable put me at ease also. He literally didn't even notice the shot Dr. Crist gave him. Pure veterinarian magic. His tail was wagging so fast, I thought he would take off like a helicopter.Everyone is Fear Free Certified, which is one of the reasons I chose them, but even without that extra animal care training, you can tell they all love their jobs and love animals. Those are exactly the kind of people you want handling your pet.
