HomeGoods has a horrible return policy. They refused to refund me for a purchase without the card the item was used for the purchase. I had my receipt and it was within 30 days of original purchase. They can’t use the receipt transaction info to refund to another card, and refused to refund in cash. They would refund to a store card which I didn’t want - basically forces you to purchase from them again. Not interested!! Contrast this with the Nike store. Returned an item and the clerk asked me how I wanted my refund - no card needed. My option - same card, different card or store credit? Nike never asked me to produce the card I used for purchasing Amazing, If Nike can do it, then HomeGoods should too. Dissatisfied customer!

Great Selection and deals. The store is always well stocked with a lot of different variety. I've always had a great customer service no issues. You can basically find something for anyone at the store one of my favorites!

I use to work here and trust me you guys don’t want to work here if you’re looking for a job. I was mistreated here and my bosses made constant complaints about me and some of the things they have complained about wasn’t even true. The last time I was at this place to work one of my bosses treated me really bad and complained to me about how I was doing my job and that’s what caused me to quit because of how I was treated. If I could give zero stars I would. But karma is real and those two will get what’s coming to them.

Rudest cashier I’ve ever met. She was texting the entire first half of our interaction, rolled her eyes whenever I would hand her things to scan, and when I said “have a good day” she said “mhm” and went back to her phone. Only giving 2 stars because the Halloween selection was nice and I found what I had needed.

I had a rather weird experience with the general manager. I had purchased a soap dispenser that was on the clearance rack, but noticed before I left the store the top would not go on completely. I informed the cashier there were others on the rack and I would get another one. I let her keep my bags and other items I purchased at the cashier counter. When I came back with the others I noticed one had a clearance price and the other one did not. The one with the clearance price was defective as well, but the one without the clearance price was not. The price for the clearance item was $12 and regular price was $14.99. I brought this to an associate attention, how one had a clearance price but the other did not. He informed me the other was not on clearance due to it was there a month before the other. I’m not sure what he wanted me to do with that information so I asked to speak to a Manager. When the manager came, I informed her of the same and told her they are the same but these two are defective and they were all on the clearance rack. She proceeded to tell the exact samething the associate said. Then tells me the two defective ones she has to send back. So I said to her your going to make me back the full price, she said yes. Then tries to make her actions worthy by telling me if I was somewhere else it would be the same. I told her customer service is worth more, but it was fine. Then states she was going to switch the tops on the bottles but it would not fit. So you would rather steal from Home Goods than do a price difference. It’s a shame when $2 dollars for an item is more important than a customer leaving with a great experience to come back to spend more.

Nice store in Newport News. This was my first visit, and I found the store to be well organized with lots of great items to choose from. I found quite a few things I wasn't expecting. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be visiting again soon!

Average experience. I guess I was walking too fast for one of the associates because she made a comment about it, asking if I needed any assistance. I’m not sure if she was actually wanting to be helpful or possibly implying that I was trying to steal something. I’ve worked in retail for years and asking an individual if they need help is suppose to deter them from stealing. Also, oddly when I was leaving security was standing by the door. I waited in my vehicle to see how long he was going to stand there from the time I left out and it was less than 5 minutes. SMH, the shopping experience for some are worse.

I love this store, I can always find nifty things to buy. I found a medium size bicycle decoration to go with my small one. I also found a large wicker tray and there was a small part damaged so they took off 5.00. It is so much fun just walking around and seeing what they have.

The entire staff needs to exit stage left. Terrible customer service, absurd attitudes to have a job that they CHOSE to work at. Listen, when people are coming in to spend their hard earned money they don’t deserve that kind of business. The woman with the red hair in particular, I hope you find something in life that makes you happy enough to treat your elders with respect.

usually I have a good experience coming here since they just opened, but I did not like my last visit. I want to start this by saying I am autistic, and simple things such as just going to the store can be extremely overwhelming for me, so i always try to get in and out as fast as possible. A couple days ago I bought a $70 cat tree around 9:15 and it was pouring rain. I asked an employee if he would mind watching it while I pulled up my car, and he said it was no problem. I pull around, and as i reach for the cat tree, he stops and asks me for my receipt in the pouring rain. I'm very overwhelmed at this point because it's cold, pouring, and I have an employee questioning if I paid for a $70 cat tree, when I walked it out in front of him. No other employee at this store has EVER asked for my receipt as i was leaving. Also, I put the receipt in my notebook in the bottom of my bag, and like i said it was 9pm and pouring, so I couldn't just pull it out.When I start to walk under the awning, (so i don't have to rummage through my bag in the rain) he says "Nevermind I saw you walk out." So why did he ask me for my receipt? This was obviously racially charged and it makes me sad because I was at the opening for this homegoods, and things seemed like they would be different. I'm not answering this employee if I see him again.

Excellent experience in this "newest opened" store. Great selection. Confusing markings on floor for traffic flow. Do not miss an aisle or you will have to return via completing the full cycle.
