BEST FOSTER HOME FOR CATS EVER! My husband and I came here for my birthday weekend and were pleasantly surprised to find out that all cats here are up for adoption. You can truly observe a cat’s personality in a home environment here rather than cats trapped in a glass cage. We came here four times after the initial visit and finally went home with two absolutely adorable cats that fit our lifestyle. We cannot be happier with our cats and we truly appreciate the work they do here. The owner and all staff member are very passionate and knowledgeable about cats. Again, I cannot say enough good stuff about this place. Absolutely love it would give it a 10 star if I can. ❤️❤️❤️

ALL CAT LOVERS NEED TO COME HERE! Everything from the decor, merchandise, and layout is perfect with cat themes. They offer a great experience for an affordable price, and offer a wide range of discounts! You can spend your hour visit looking at all the artwork, playing a board game, listening to great tunes, and of course lounging with cats! They also offer merchandise/food to purchase which mostly come from other small business’s, which I think is a great added detail. Staff are nice and seem very knowledgeable of the cats they have. Highly recommended for any cat enthusiast, your money/time will be well spent here!

An amazing space to come and just chill with cats. All are up for adoption so you can hang out and see which one fits you best. There is an admissions fee but that goes towards the upkeep and food. Only downside is when I went drinks were not fully stocked and it would have been nice to have a cracked window as with that many cats and litter boxes the smell was a bit intense walking in. Totally would come back to hang out with the kitties and grab a snack or two.

This place is amazing! Adorable rescue cats being well taken care of. You can pet them, play with them, and give them treats! You can even enjoy a beverage while you do it. Highly recommend and well worth the minimal cost to get in.

Cups and claws cat cafe is amazing! Great entry prices, snacks and hot and cold beverages. We visited when we first moved to Virginia and the staff were so kind and all of the kitties have such unique personalities! Most of them are adoptable and looking for furrever homes. We fell in love with a cat named Mama and adopted her! The adoption process was thorough but easy and the cafe was very flexible. I highly recommend going but be careful because you might fall in love.

Everyone at Cups and Claws was so kind and helpful. I visited hoping to find a cat to adopt and was able to take a great kitty home. The staff went above and beyond to make the adoption go smoothly and it’s obvious they care for their cats very much.

We loved our experience, and will definitely be back! The cats provided us the heart warming experience we were seeking. Every personality was different. Some cuddly & sweet, others playful & lively. All were well fed, groomed and loved. The building seems to be taken care of, friendly staff and nice volunteers. Many folks visiting seem to not be first visit. The business offers a beverage with price of admission. Other goodies offered for sale. The brownie cheesecake was delicious! Plenty of space and seating to enjoy. Lots of toys, an abundance of toys actually. All kinds. Automated and manual. Many beds and areas for the cats to live their best lives. Bathrooms on site for visitors as well, which was a plus after enjoying the delightful roast coffee.

We come here fairly regularly for our fix of kitties since we can't have one. The sitting areas are comfortable, there's usually fun events going on for doing arts and crafts or yoga with the kitties as well as a great bakery section.

My Girl Scout troop visited the cafe on a fun field trip. Kim was so kind and accommodating. She even allowed us to visit on a night that the cafe is typically closed. The cafe is clean and comfortable. Lots of places to sit and various toys to entertain the cats. My scouts especially loved the quarter machine that sold cat treats. The animals are well cared for and seem very content. There’s lots of snacks and drinks to buy. My troop had such a fun time and my scouts didn’t want to leave. Thank you for facilitating one of our best field trips, Kim!Kid-friendliness: My troop ranges in ages from 5-15. I think this establishment fits this age range well.

When I tell you this is the sweetest little place I’ve ever been, it truly was so fun. I am a cat lover for sure, so when I heard about this place I had to go. My boyfriend was at fort Eustis in December, so we made a quick trip on graduation day to see what it all was about. All the adorable cats were perfect, and we even had a few stop by while we played scrabble. If I ever end up that way again, I will for sure be stopping by. 😸

My husband and I love Cups and Claws! It’s such a cozy cafe with many areas to sit. They have so many areas for the cats to sit and relax and even a back room where they can go if they need to get away from all the visitors. The owners and staff are so friendly and always around for any questions that you may have. We love to make it a point to come back to cups and claws to hang out with the kitties when we want to get out of the house but still do something relaxing, and we will continue to come back!

My family had an amazing time here. The cats are very well taken care of and very interactive. The staff was informative and always have safety in mind for the animals and guests. We paid the $5 for an extra hour and it was totally worth it! We were not ready to leave after an hour. We love the work they do to get the cats adopted out.

Super adorable and beautiful on the inside! The decor is unmatched and I love the aquarium fish tank. Staff were a little more standoffish than I’d like, didn’t really introduce themselves as they walked in and out, and the unsolicited advice was a bit annoying.. this isn’t my first time with cats! Other than that, it was a super laid back experience and the cats were all so sweet and well taken care of! Highly recommend (:

We have been there quite a few times and we absolutely love it. We even had my sons bday there. I highly recommend this cafe. I even like to work on my business there. Free wifi, kitties, amazing local snacks, coffee, tea, and awesome staff!!! Did I mention kitties? Who all happen to be up for adoption!! Can’t wait to go back.

Love this cat cafe! It is set up to be a very relaxing environment. There are couches as well as booths/tables available if you want to get some work done. The cats have plenty of space and were all clearly well cared for. The staff are also very friendly! I look forward to more visits!Parking: Plenty of parking

The most amazing experience EVER!!My boyfriend, our friend, and I visited the Cafe a week ago because we were recommended visiting by friends. We stayed for around 2 hours, and had an amazing experience. The staff was so friendly, and the kitties were all so cute I wanted them all! But my boyfriend and I fell in love with a kitty named “Oxford” and knew we wanted to get him.We filed the applications & did the process, but we were having a little trouble with the rescue the kitty was from, which is no biggie. We visited the cafe because we had to get another kitty along with Oxford, and Kim was AMAZING. She helped us through the application and the errors we were experiencing, gave us care guides, the food they eat, anything you could possibly need. The other staff there was also so so kind and helpful.Anyways, we finally got approved & there was still a little error, but Kim kindly contacted me, helped us out, and made room for us to get the kitties asap. I’m writing this as i’m cuddling with our new babies Oxford and Speck!! I couldn’t have been more grateful for Kim, the other staff, and the overall love and attentiveness to the kitties and customers. I rarely ever write google reviews, but this is an experience i’ll never forget. I HIGHLY recommend Cups and Claws, and a special thank you to KIM!! Thank you guys so much!!(Our babies below) ❤️❤️

Cups and Claws Cat Cafe is a great place to adopt a kitty. You can go visit and play with the cats and kittens in order to pick out one to adopt. The staff was very helpful with suggesting cats that might suit me and providing information on rasing the new cat into my home!

This is such a fun place to play with kittens and cats that need adopting. They take excellent care to know eat cat by name. Tell you the personality. This gives you time to get to know the animal before adoption. Or you can just come and relax with sweet kitties! $10.00 to get in. Extra for snacks.

I brought my 14 year old daughter and her friend this weekend. If you are a cat lover, this is the happiest place on earth. It was clean, the cats were adorable, clean, happy and loved. The place is amazing. Everywhere you look you could find a cat sitting, hiding or sleeping. The people working were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The cats were beautiful. It was fun to just sit and have them come to you, or pick a shy one to win over, or just sit on the floor and pet every cat that comes by. We absolutely loved it there and will definitely go back soon. I think this may just have to be my weekly therapy. What a wonderful place!!

Not worth the admission. Go to the movies instead. The smell was overwhelming and the “cafe” aspect leaves a lot to be desired. When we first walked in to the gift shop/cafe area, the smell was bad, but hey, there’s lots of cats. But back in the actual interactive are, it was truly overwhelming. We couldn’t stay much longer than 10 minutes without needing fresh air.Maybe focusing on less cats (very few were interacting anyway) and more on boosting the cafe aspect would help. $35 for two people was not worth it (especially with how short our visit was) but hope it helped these cats somehow.EDITED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING after receiving owner response:Wow. I guess my opinion triggered something if the owner went and read my past reviews… I love praising good interactions, but when I have a bad experience, I’m also happy to share it so others may make an informed decision on whether to patronize an establishment. Aside from our interaction paying the cashier at the entrance, there was nothing distinguishing staff from patrons. There was a woman on a laptop when we first walked in who maybe worked there? But when we left, she was not there and neither was the cashier in the front. Had there been a cashier, I would have mentioned why our visit was so short. Perhaps you are all “scent blind” — I get it, I have horses and that barn smell doesn’t affect me like it does my husband. But the overwhelming smell of ammonia and litter is distinct and not pleasant. I was a little skeptical when she said there were 30-40 cats… I should have known what that would smell like! I’m not sure hourly cleaning will take care of that… all it takes is one unfound accident to create a chain reaction. I would be welcoming smells from the vape shop next door. Also, $35 is not a “tiny” contribution… to some people that is a week’s worth of groceries!! Wow, just wow… please see the photo of the owner’s original comments.

This was an amazing experience! We brought our year and a half year old son. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They had 35 cats when we went so there was plenty of love to go around. Lots of games and toys for cats and people. Plus, the coffee was great!

This cafe is great, I just adopted my new best friend goose from them. They were patient with me though the adoption process and they partner with AMAZING rescues. These cats are very lucky to have Kim and her husband looking after them while they await their adoption!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly the cats adorable! Noodle, Chimay, and Cleopatra were the sweetest cats I met today. For all cat enthusiasts the paraphernalia is out of this world! Shirts, pins, stickers, hoodies, key chains, cups it goes on and on! And the best part the Cafe is a foster so they're helping the cats find their forever homes, all the cats are available for adoption! Take the time show the cays some love!
