So glad Virginia and Nyema are back!!! I started coming to Care A Lot about 2 years ago when we PCS’d Over from Germany Nyema was the one grooming my dog And she always did an amazing job, Unfortunately, she had left Care A Lot, but passed me on to another groomer named Virginia, but before she left, she assured me that Virginia would do an amazing job and care about Mr. Huckleberry And she was everything that she described, and his haircuts always turned out great, and then Virginia left! We got another groomer and hook still looked good, but not like he’d usually looked, which is fine because I understand every groomer has a different style and then that groomer left and we got someone else at that. I didn’t even recognize Huck he looked so bad. He usually comes back fluffy with a super round head and I just wasn’t getting that and he would come home sometimes still stinky so I decided to part ways with Care A Lot at that point a month ago I happened to come in to pick up some dog food, just happen to look in the salon and I see Nyema and Virginia. I got him an appointment the second I checked out and I am so happy to report. He looks like my baby again! Care A Lot, you made a good choice taking them back you’ve just gained a client back!!!!!

Lucy is 7 yr old Pom lots of hair this was the best grooming I ever had for Lucy. Don’t know what the lady’s name is who groomed Lucy but she has done most amazing job. Also I locked my keys in the car the two ladies came out to help me I had no phone to call anyone they took care of me. What an amazing experience and customer service!Can’t wait to see you all again. Great recommendation from my friend!This store is at care a-lot Newport News!Thank you all!Kelly 👏😊

Niemia, is the best groomer that we have ever used. My dogs hate getting there nails clipped , but she got them used to the clippers so easily.

I cannot speak highly enough about the daycare and boarding staff at Care-A-Lot Pet Supply in Oyster Point. My dog, Glade, has been going here for daycare and boarding since we moved to VA in 2019. They take incredible care of her in all ways and even go above and beyond. Her most recent visit to boarding she started showing signs of gastric upset and they called me immediately. I was out of town but a staff member took her to her own vet, explained the situation, got her medication, and administered the medication over the weekend while feeding her an in-house diet of chicken and rice. I called every morning and evening for updates and they were kind and caring and explained everything that happened with Glade that day. I would never trust anyone else to take care of her the way Care-A-Lot does. Worth every single penny and more.

This is the only pet store that I go to! There prices are much more affordable although they sell the same high quality items. The staff are always willing to help. I love the events that they have, the discount veterinarian services, and the different promotions.

Ok. Prices could be slightly cheaper. Just got a new puppy. Not much fit him in leash/collar/harness area. Not enough shampoo choices for puppy less thsn 12 weeks.

I only gives this a 3 star because they were nice and I don’t want to go lower, brought my dog in, super fluffy part shih tzu, I wanted a big shave besides the face and a bit left on the paws, I got her back and they didn’t go down to the half inch I wanted and they barely touched her legs and the bottoms of her paws weren’t touched either, she still has knots on her and I did complain and they took her back got the very noticeable patches they missed that also had a couple knots, happy with the face besides the ears, I asked for the ears to be trimmed down quite a bit to and they were mostly left untouched besides like a light trim, this is my third time here and I’ve been very happy up until now.

The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful. I brought them both of my dog's medical records in shambles and the young lady sifted through all of it to ensure my dogs were getting all the shots they needed. That took real patience and dedication and I really appreciate that. The medical staff was awesome as well and they saved us money. Definitely worth the drive to Newport news from Suffolk.

Love this place especially the dog trainer Bowen at the Newport News location. She is very knowledgeable and so caring about your pets. They have a RAW bar that I love and so does my fur baby. I would have given 5 stars but the aquatic area is lacking a bit of knowledge. If you are looking to care for a salt water marine life they are not the best. I had to go see a specialist for my marine salt water crabs. The first picture is info from care a lot and the second pic is from the true aquatic expert.

Although I found the price on dog beds to be a little high, I purchased one for my new rescue. My last two beds also came from the store, with 9-1/2 years of satisfaction ongoing. Upon leaving store, with my wheelchair handicapped guest, I loaded the chair in back of my truck and dropped something on ground. When I got home, I called back to store, which was closed, and got hold of mgr., who went out and found my item. She immediately called me back, after having found item. What a great example of going out for your customers also. Many thanks and I will continue to shop there.

Good for quick things that need pick up. The staff are all kind, I've never had a bad employee experience here. Although they do not have a good fish supply selection and they have a paper in the store saying they are going to stop selling fish, which may not be a bad thing as most of the fish there are not in appropriate tanks or living conditions. Also before the affordable vet was closed my dog got fleas from the affordable vet which is located in the same building as care a lot. So be careful before bringing your pet inside. The store also clearly needs major renovations as the store looks like 2012 tan and maroon accents, but the experience is much better than shopping at a Petco. P. S. My dog is okay now we were able to get rid of the fleas

I enjoy the idea of affordable pet shots however they need to educate their staff on how to treat one another.The female who checked us out at the front desk, had red hair, was talking to her coworker very poorly in front of customers. Not cool to see especially when you are trusting these people with your pets.Makes me not want to support or recommend that place.

Had to call the store and ask to be transferred to the grooming department as no one answered for me 2 days in a row. I was advised by the grooming department to place a grooming request online. No one called or emailed me back up to the date I selected. I called back and they said no appointment was on the books for me and I would need to place a request online. After stating I already did... the staffer took my info and made an appointment via phone. I even recieved a phone call this morning confirming my appointment and request to bring my vet info to validate vaccinations. I later recieved a call saying sorry for the inconvenience but there was confusion with the Reservation and I needed to rebook.To be clear... I am not rebooking and they wasted 2 of my days off! Also, why do you have an online request for grooming when no one replies!!! Total waste of time.

Did not get the service I paid for. the dogs still had an unclean smell. Sent for full grooming and were done in a few minutes. Watched the groomer barley dremmel each nail. dogs were done in minutes, and I had to complain to get them redone. Had similar issues on multiple occasions. Therefore, I no longer use their services

First of all I'm super sad to hear that you all are getting rid of your fish section. But Patrick 🙌🏽 he is amazing, patient informative, helpful. He really goes above and beyond. We have been making trips to this store to see Patrick and he is nothing short of amazing. His expertise in salt water has helped us tremendously in starting our salt water tank.
