Lovely little store in New Market, VA.Perused them in summer and left with arms full of fresh local produce. Told myself I’d go back. Re-visited today to shop specifically for stocking-stuffers for my boys (they’ve got loads of things for littles, mine are in their teens/twenties)… I was not disappointed!I purchased some very cool socks, snacks, gloves, wild game jerkys, and hot sauce.Warning: It’s a crowded space. Not a bad thing, but it’s kinda hard to make your way through. There were lots of shoppers today (this made me feel good, since the shop is full of small brands).Parking is tricky.Staff were present, friendly-ish at checkout.

This is a great store where you could get most of your common groceries as well as all kinds of specialty foods, gifts, crafts, and art. I especially liked the big selection of flour, cornmeal, grits, etc. We tried some of the fruit ciders and they were both great.

I love this store! So many cool, local, healthy options to choose from! Jams, meats, flours, candies, beverages, fruits and veggies, ALL stuff you don't see in other stores! Such a friendly staff and active social media presence (which is super helpful for schedules) on top of it!

This is a good place to visit. They have lots of fresh produce, milk, cheese, meats, gifts, toys, and other things to purchase. We bought a flat of strawberries and specialty teas.The young lady who waited on us was super helpful in providing information about the store and town.We will definitely stop by again.

I highly recommend tourists and locals experience the Jon Henry General Store in New Market VA. The owner Jon and his staff are amazing. Their products, prices and buildings are amazing. It’s like stepping back in time. Love this store ❤️

I had the best time exploring this wonderful general store. Every room was chock-full of interesting things to try. Games, socks, handwoven baskets from around the world, fresh fruits and vegetables, and interesting people most of whom were masked up and social distancing. I came away with two watermelons, organic pasta sauce, and two types of cheese and...Well I should admit I picked up a root beer too. The sugary drink hit the spot after walking around this wonderful little town. I could’ve opted for that naturally flavored seltzer water but somehow this fit the bill.

Jon Henry General Store is amazing. They have organic produce, plants, flowers as well as value added products including apple cider , fruit butter spreads , salsas , drink mixers , condiments, jellies and so much more. It is conveniently located off of I-81 and Route 11 in the beautiful Town of New Market, VA.

Great seasonal selection, friendly staff, and good prices. If you want to get an early start before gardening season to stock up on produce for canning, this is a great place to start.

The employees are all very kind and personable. I love the fresh local produce and gluten-free foods and mixes they offer. Check out their Facebook page for daily offers and fun videos. A great local store you should stop by and see what they have. There is always something new.

Great supply of fresh foods. Everything from crab legs, lobster, oysters, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, honey, jellies, all kinds of goodies. Staff is friendly, order online. Parking is easy and a good location

We were so lucky to stumble across this great stop while driving from Luray Caverns to I 81. This is the coolest shop! From an artwork dispensing machine to CBD sparkling water, puzzles to peanuts, heck everything like the signs say outside. Love this place!

Great place for basic foods, produce, cheeses, milk, eggs, bacon, sauces (from around the area). Also neat candy and gifts etc. There is a lot of stuff packed into this place take your time and look around!

First time coming today and absolutely loved the atmosphere. Parts of the store were like walking back in time. Love the produce and the ability to buy in bulk at reasonable prices. The staff was very attentive to our needs and helpful as we were new to the store.The strawberries we bought smell amazing and I can’t wait to turn them into creations for our family and friends.

I'm very disappointed in JH shipping practices. My order of four tea towels back on 9/11/23 JUST arrived...oh but wait...only three of the four towels I ordered arrived. The other is still 'waiting pick-up from the store!And when I called to inquire about my order...'it'll go out tomorrow' was the response. Not the 'friendliest' customer service. Very frustrating and unreliable.Had the same experience last year around the holidays. Thought I'd get a jump on it this year and glad I did. I won't be ordering from Jon Henry in the future.

Local gem for sure. We go here a couple times per camping trip since we discovered it. Definitely allows us to pack lighter and get nice fresh local meats, sauces and other food/ snacks!

I got a box of peaches and a lot of them were moldy and rotten. And it wasn’t seconds. $30 peaches. Their produce under pavilion is very sorry looking. A lot of produce has the produce id stickers on them so it’s not local or small farms either, but some rejects from big corporations. Not impressed at all.

Price is always Right

I am local and have shopped here a half a dozen times or so. Today I brought a few family members in for the first time. The tall gentleman with glasses (I believe he is the owner) was not friendly at all and almost a little sarcastic/annoyed when asked a question. I like supporting small businesses, but I like supporting small businesses even more when the staff is warm and inviting. Some of the produce deals are nice, but we have found that a lot of it is over ripe. Today was a disappointing visit.
