Village Vet treated our dog before we adopted him from the animal shelter. As a dog with moderate to severe anxiety, he is comfortable with the staff who treat him like one of their own. We will definitely continue to take our pets to Village Vet.

We were shocked to get a same day appointment! Once we arrived the staff was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about our chihuahuas. The doctor we saw was excellent. We took his suggestion on the flea collars he recommended and gave Piper the prescribed Apoquel.

Took my Beagle here, who I recently adopted. The entire staff was friendly and very professional. The vet was great with my dog and my 3 kids that were also there. I trust them and will be using them for anything the dog needs. Thanks everyone!

Kind, caring and knowledgeable staff! My 1st visit was an emergency visit (and as a new patient) that they had me come in 10 minutes before they closed when nobody else was available! Two and 1/2 years later with two more 4 legged additions and numerous visits - Dr Weakland has called EVERY time on the following day to check to see how my fur baby was doing!

My dog was very very sick for the past 2 weeks, stayed hospitalized for 4 nights and also has had an amputation so his vet visits have been traumatizing. I let the staff and vet know this, and even brought his muzzle just in case they needed it for him. Told them he does not like to be held down either. As I'm explaining this, the vet had someone hold him down just to check his heart beat and he barked to tell them to stop. The vet SIGHED as if he was annoyed and then walked out. Came back and told me he was going to take blood in the back to get his white blood cell count checked to make sure he was getting better. They came back not even 5 min later and let me know he needed to be sedated inorder to take blood even with his muzzle on. Told me there was nothing more they could do and still charged me $58 for an exam they didn't even do. The rest of the staff was nice, and they seemed understanding of him being scared, so I was under the impression that he wouldn't be a problem.

So unfortunate given that some of the staff are so nice, the organization is poor. Have always waited a day or two for medication to be approved via Chewy but at this vet it can take up to 2-3 weeks at times to simply approve refills. This means that my poor dog constantly runs out and suffers for days/weeks while waiting for them to get to it. Wouldn't recommend them if you use Chewy for medications. I've had to revert back to my old vet for medications since they are a lot quicker.

Showed up one morning out of the blue, with my pregnant girl in labor. She needed a C-section. Could not find any other Vets around to see her. Staff was great and rearranged their schedule to treat my girl. Doctor was able to save the puppy, a fine young boy. Mother and son are doing great! Thanks for being such a good Vet! Staff was extremely nice and helpful!

I have used Village Veterinary for about the last 10 years, and love the friendly staff! Dr. Weakland always personally calls to follow up after a procedure or puppy shots to make sure all is okay, and that personal attention by a professional is hard to find these days. Their pricing is fair and impossible to beat in other local veterinarian officesI have moved to Williamsburg but still drive to New Kent because I trust them implicitly and think they are by far the best value.

Dr Weakland was the only Vet that would see my 10 year old dog, who was deathly Ill in a timely manner, after we already took him to the ER, and they didn’t do much for him.. He personally called me back to tell me to come in the next morning. Which we did. My dog was In critical condition, from what I believe was heart failure (waiting on results) but he saved him, and now he’s home with us, looking MUCH better, & I’ll forever be thankful for Dr Weakland and the staff at Village Veterinary!!

We had just moved here and I mean only been in Virginia not even 2 weeks when we noticed our cat was losing weight and just not looking good. I called around for hours and when I called this place and explained everything they got my in right away. Sadly we received the horrible news that our cat would need to be put down. They did offer a treatment but informed me that she wouldn’t survive it. So instead of lying to me to get me to spend $$ which I would have if she had a high chance of survival they told my the truth. I was able to bring her home and we got to spend 2 days with her before my husband and my son took her in to put her to sleep. They did wonderful. They cremated her and offered a selection of urns that we got to choose and they imprinted her paw into plaque. We got her back pretty quickly in nice velvet bag and the urn and her paw print. A week after we got her back we got sent a beautiful card signed by all the people who work their and they wrote personal messages . They also did her nose and paw print into the card which was very sweet. Thank you for being so wonderful during such a rough time.

We asked for a few specific services and none were done. We asked for a X-ray, exam and nail trim. X-ray was not done and we were told it was arthritis. Exam was done and shots updated. Nails were not done. Was given meds and told to come back in a week if not better. Was given 2 medications for our dog. Specifically told they could be taken together. Within an hour my dog was shaking uncontrollably. Emergency vet says those two medications CANNOT be given together, they are toxic. Also, not arthritis, he has a torn muscle. Just over all disappointing on services.

Dr. Weaklund and his staff are wonderful! Our cat Goldie was handled very gently and thoroughly examined, and didn’t make a peep when she got her vaccination. Very professional and very kind-hearted! Then, Dr. Weaklund followed up with a phone call - I don’t even get that from my people doctors!Just an outstanding practice - I would recommend them to anyone!

Best Vet I've ever had. I have had pets all my life and I even worked as a vet assistant 45 years ago. But Dr. Scot Weakland DVM is the very best. So very knowledgeable, courteous, kind and very caring with each pet! He really knows what he is doing and never tries to upsell or pushy. His staff are all so very sweet and kind. I highly recommend Village Vet as the place to care for your loved animals.

This vet and his nurses are fantastic. We had to take our dog in to be put to sleep. They couldn't have been more caring and compassionate!!! From the time of arrival to leaving. They even gave Pete a hersheys kiss after his 1st injection, to calm his nerves. On the jar was a label that said"Good Bye Kiss". Such a great vet and associates!!!

I love dr Weakland and his staff the front desk girl Ashley is above and beyond helpful my dogs always receive top notch care and they love on them and reassure them while they are having procedures done to them .... I have also used doctor Weaklands office to compassionately say good bye to an animal that we found and he treated that animal like she was part of our family as well .... I wish I could give more than 5 stars I highly recommend this office for pet care and veterinary services

The staff is always so nice, pleasant and kind to both me and my pet. They are helpful with work through situations that don't require the vet's time. Dr. Weakland is very good doing his job. He doesn't push his products on you. He works well with Chewy orders when necessary. He always has a pleasant attitude both in person and over the phone. I really like Village Veterinary. Much better then the other vets in New Kent, VA.

I have found a new veterinarian for my dogs. My Chesapeake Retriever, CJ, hurt herself on Sunday. I couldn’t figure out what happened, but I decided (hoped!) that she must have sprained something. Showed up at this veterinary office Monday before they opened. They took us in immediately and after examining her, the doctor also felt she must have sprained something. They were gentle and caring with her, and made me feel very good about choosing their clinic. The doctor prescribed some medicine and comforted me with his diagnosis and bedside manner. I am also grateful that their charges were reasonable and that they did not perform unnecessary tests just because they could have. I definitely would recommend them to anyone in need of a vet. Many thanks to the doctor and the entire staff.

Kendall Loving, the vet assistant, was the most helpful, responsive, caring person I have ever met. I wanted to have a dog treated during this difficult time of covid-19. She returned my calls (and there were many!) and always made me feel like I was the only client that she had. So nice to have such amazing care for my four-legged friend. Five stars!!
