We loved it! Homemade ice cream. Delicious. I got the peanut butter cup swirl. Husband got the mint chocolate chip. He said it was the best mint chocolate chip ice cream he'd ever tasted. Made with fresh mint. Not artificial flavoring. They will let you sample the flavors before you buy. Such a nice addition to the county. They offer cups and cones. No toppings, sundaes or shakes...just really good homemade ice cream. Highly recommend. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Casual local place that serves unique flavors of ice cream and sorbet with some sugar free flavors and a few vegan flavors. Our Family favorites are red velvet, chocolate cherry, lemon cake, honey lavender. There is a flavor for dogs available. This is strictly ice cream - no cones, no sundaes, no shakes, no toppings. The ice cream is enough. There are some games in the store for any customers who want to linger.Easy on and off interstate 64, exit 214, go north on 155 and you will see Kilted Creamery in center of small strip mall. FYI No bathroom facilities, stop at rest stop before stopping for ice cream.

So our family decided to stop here to get icecream. It was absolutely delicious. I was able to get dairy free strawberry made with coconut milk. My husband got apple pie with caramel, my daughters got cake batter and my grandson got cookies n cream. All were delicious. And they make their own waffle cones that literally melt in your mouth. We'll definitely be going back.

This place is awesome! My daughter and I enjoyed the homemade ice cream! Also the man that owns the place was nice and entertaining to my daughter as we made small banter about him being Scottish! All that's left to say is a bathroom would make the place even better. But understandable, Rick's closed, and that is where the bath was conveniently located. But that will not deter us from coming back!

By far the best ice cream places! The guy that owns the shop is always so wonderful when we go in even when we talk his ear off lol! I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone and I love how it’s all homemade ice cream. He also sponsored school events for the high school which really means a lot to us. Thank you for the amazing service and the amazing time we spend there!

Service here is hit or miss. The wife and kids are great but I think the father has a hard time turning off his bad days. Pretty human if you ask me. They make all of their ice cream themselves and have a great selection of dairy free products which one of my sons says is even better than the dairy version. They have a table set up for a lost soldier which really touches my heart. There are some non electronic games set throughout and my kids steadily kick my butt on them so I'm torn about recommending that you play them. The black death ice cream requires a signed waiver to order and the very small sample I tried justified it. That stuff will clear your sinuses for a week. Shakes and sundaes are NOT available nor are cones but they have amazing homemade waffle bowls. The variety of flavors is really diverse and they add new ones regularly based on customer requests and taste tests. Truly responsive to customers. Lots of funny posters and signs around to entertain and if you are a pokemon go player there is a place to spin.

My family stopped in to try the newest ice cream shop in New Kent. We'd heard the chatter about how good it was, but we had to try it for ourselves. After entering we were greeted by one of the owners of the shop who was friendly and welcoming. He asked if we had visited before and explained that his ice cream is all homemade and for the most part locally sourced. Let me tell you... the ice cream is LEGIT the best I've ever had, and the most affordable of the ice cream shops we've visited lately. If you like chocolate you have to try theirs, the flavor is bursting with complex layers of creamy coco goodness (no Hershey's flavoring).Not only is the ice cream amazing, but the folks that own it are passionate about their product. When we weren't sure what we wanted the man held up a basket of spoons and told us we could try which ever flavors we wanted. One of the many unique things about Kilted Creamery is that they have a HOT ice cream. We weren't brave enough to try it on this trip, but we'll definitely be back.The owners have big plans on offering more yummy treats and a family experience that we don't have in New Kent yet. We're excited to watch them grow :) 🍨

A GEM right in New Kent. I googled for ube ice cream assuming Richmond would be the closest place if I was lucky. Well, Kilted Creamery had everything from ube and sesame coconut to thin mint to chocolate to cookies and cream, sorbet. Non-dairy options. Vegan options. There is something for everyone! Everything is made in house with fresh, real ingredients. Locally owned and operated. David was so kind to me and my toddler. He let us try so many flavors and we had a great conversation. We left with a quart to take home to my husband and a rewards card, so we will be back at least weekly 😂

The quality of the ice cream here is amazingly fresh tasting. A ton of ice cream flavors to choose from. I got the Lemon Cake which I thought was the best ever until I tasted my daughter's Honey Lavender. Wow!If I didn't live 30 minutes away - I would have ordered a gallon of it!Totally recommend this place if you like real good ice cream for a great price!

This place is FUN! We stopped here while on driving through New Kent. They have lots of flavors, including vegan options, so it took a minute to choose which to get. I got the Peanut Butter Cup swirl & my fiancé got the coffee. They have a lot of fun traditions such as wearing kilts, BLACK DEATH challenge, and spinning with a chance to win free ice cream for a year. Definitely recommend to try this family owned business if you are driving through the area!Dietary restrictions: Vegan ice cream options available in various flavors

My family and I go here often. We love trying all different flavors. The best ice cream around here!! The owners are always so nice to all of us. Another amazing thing is they are celiac friendly! I’m newly diagnosed so when I came in and explained the owner gave me flavors that had no wheat in them, cleaned his scoop, and opened up a new container of the flavor I wanted to make sure there was no cross contamination. We’ve been customers for awhile, I tried other flavors before my celiac diagnosis and every flavor I’ve tried has been incredible. I was so apprehensive after my celiac diagnosis to go anywhere but the owner definitely didn’t make me feel excluded from our family’s favorite treat out. Thank you!!

Stopped by today. They have non-dairy and sugar-free options as well. Best ice cream I've ever had, hands down. The coffee ice cream was made with real coffee. The peaches and cream, you could taste the fresh peaches, cinnamon, and caramel. They should call it peach cobbler without the crust. We'll be gathering the rest of the family and coming back soon.

To be best of my knowledge Kilted creamery hasn't been here for very long.... but I have been there twice and it is amazing. The owner is very interesting to talk to though he is constantly moving. The interior is clean and inviting and the variety of ice cream is unbelievable. The flavors taste exactly as their names. I will be going back and I tell people every chance I get to go there too.

I’m so glad we found this place! Their ice cream is homemade and it is by far the BEST around. They have so many unique flavors to choose from and all have been delicious. They even have a special ice cream treat for dogs and our dog loved it. The shop is clean and cozy with plenty of tables to sit at and games to play. It is worth the drive to check this place out!

What a great place! The ice cream was exceptional, and they have so many flavors and options, including oat and coconut cream as well as sugar free. There were games on every table, and when we were there, a group of teenagers were playing cards together. It was awesome to see! Love this gem!!!

FABULOUS ice cream ALWAYS! After moving here from New York, after living there for 20 years, we have been looking for fun and new places to try near our new home. I’m sure many can assume that after living in New York there are MANY places you can try for ice cream. You’d be right! But most of those places are usually just “o-k”. But this ice cream place is completely unique! I had NEVER had better and richer tasting ice cream ANYWHERE else!! Has a fun and wholesome feel inside! Love all of the handmade artwork/graphics and funny jokes! So much fun to sit at the tables with games while you enjoy your delicious, and fairly priced, MAGICAL treat! You can tell when you come in here for ice cream that the people that help you are doing so with genuine kindness and fun! Every time family comes to visit we take them here and EVERY flavor has been incredible so far! We love to tell them so in person too! You can tell they genuinely appreciate the positive feedback and love seeing how a simple, but timeless, treat can make people smile!

This is some of the best ice cream that I have ever had!! I have been to several other establishments that claim to have homemade ice cream but they do not reach the level of deliciousness that Kilted Creamery does. They make homemade deserts then blend them into their homemade ice cream, a recipe that results superb flavor. Everyone that I have introduced to Kilted Creamery has been floored by the flavor their ice cream has. I look forward to seeing what Kilted Creamery has in store for us in the future.
