Best BLT in the state of Virginia! I travel throughout the state and just happened to be in Newcastle today. My go to breakfast sandwich is the BLT with egg. Let me say that this place makes an exceptional sandwich. The restaurant is set up in a way that makes you feel like you just stepped into your grandmothers living room. Just grab a mug and self-serve the coffee. I look forward to returning

Nice little place with small town charm. Food, customer service, and atmosphere was great! They made pepper gravy for my vegetarian wife. Wasn't on the menu, but they made it fresh for her anyway.

Lasterday is one of the great hidden gems of Craig County! Delicious food with a very warm and welcoming environment - unfortunately some folks have recently attempted to "Review Bomb" this very well loved local business. Ignore the negative reviews and personal insults, this is a wonderful place!

Went to Lasterday twice while I was in New Castle and it's so good! Tried the Simple Life with apple butter, a bacon/egg/cheese, and egg and cheese. There are cute things in the front market and the coffee is local.

Owner and employees are always warm & friendly, food is always warm and delicious. Sweet tea us consistently good. Wonderful atmosphere. So glad for this place, and no longer having to travel over the mountain for coffee. S. N., sweet tea is consistently good.

For what appears to be their flagship food, the biscuits were by far the worst thing we could have ordered. I would have prefered biscuits from a fast food restaurant over these cold, crumbly, tasteless lumps of bread. Worst biscuits Ive had at any restaurantThat being said, my friend ordered eggs and french toast and that was very good and the coffee was incredible. Oddly enough if you stay away from what this place seems to be known for you will have a good time.

This place was highly recommended by many locals. Nice assortment of locally made crafts and natural products. At the owner's suggestion I tried a variation from their menu and had a biscuit with a sausage patty smothered in gravy. What an awesome treat! The best biscuit and heavy ever!It is family operated and everyone there is very nice and welcoming. I'm looking forward to coming back again.They are nicely set up for diners to seat outside when the weather is warmer too!

So proud of this little gem in our county. The food is delicious and the hospitality is what makes you smile and makes it feel like home when you walk in. The biscuits are delicious…. but unfortunately I can’t keep from ordering the Bowl of Kindness every time I’m in- it’s so unique and tasty. There’s a reason so many people make the trip over the mountain from Roanoke to come here!

The biscuits at Lasterday Market are absolutely to die for. I cannot say enough about their exceptional flavor, presentation, and uniqueness. I’ve never had a biscuit this good and I would do anything for the recipe. The owner and staff are great hosts and they should be proud of their food and much-needed community gathering atmosphere that they have curated. I went 3 times within 5 days because I couldn’t get enough. They represent what excellent local businesses we have across our country, and they are of the finest sort.

Whenever my wife and I want to go out for breakfast/brunch on the weekend, we can rarely think of anywhere in Roanoke that could beat Lasterday! So, we often drive the 40 minutes out to New Castle, and it is worth it EVERY TIME! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming and kind, and the drive is beautiful. We cannot recommend Lasterday enough!

“The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” - Mark 12:31This sweet little café has always excelled in this, loving each and every person that walks into this restaurant.Yes, it may get noisy, especially when the rain hits the tin roof, but mostly because of the chatter and laughter in this place of gathering.Now besides the warm and welcoming environment, THE FOOD is SPECTACULAR. Scratch made biscuits and a menu full of fun combinations.(THE BOWL OF KINDNESS💃)And recently added, LATTES😆.... in Craig county... WHAT!!!! It is true! I have had more than I’d like to admit.(I recommend the Caramel latte!)Remember be kind to those who are working and to those who have/run small businesses. The world is in a crisis itself for food shortages.

The cutest mix of modern and old fashioned decor in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a well thought out menu that fits the scenery. Definitely worth a trip to small town New Castle. My wife and I have made the Friday night burger Bin a weekly family tradition. Good food and community fellowship. That is what small town living is all about.

They have the best homemade biscuits. My favorites are the Classic, Simple Life with peach jam and the Honeybee! The food is always served hot and fresh with wonderfully warm small town hospitality!

We love our Lasterdays!Best food in Newcastle, 100% on par with anything Roanoke or Blacksburg can whip up. Always friendly, fast service, delicious REAL food and coffee.We were privileged to attend their first full dinner service after the Christmas parade, and when we walked in and saw the crowds we assumed we were in for a ridiculous wait time. But we were moved through the line at lightning speed, totally on level with Chic-fil- A, and our food came, perfectly in order, and we were blown away at how efficiently and professionally dinner service was! And there are always smiling faces, even in a rush.Thank you guys for serving our community so well!

Lasterday's signature dish is the 'Robert Bowl' (sauteed chicken with baby red potatoes, covered with gravy & available to be topped with a cooked egg) but the blueberry muffins are worth driving 50 miles for. Family friendly with a darling gift shop up front. The New Castle Community fully enjoys supporting this local business!

Will not be coming back here. Came here Saturday morning. It was terrible smelled like bacon when you walked in and not the good kind the owner was talking to people like they were dogs. My food ice cold it's like they forgot to pop it in a microwave or something. The prices were outrageous. I can't believe there is even one review that is good for this place.

Stopped by here before heading to work. I had the chicken and pimiento cheese biscuit, best chicken biscuit I have ever eaten. I'd rather eat here than Chick-fil-A. Yep, that good! Great addition to New Castle.

It was hard to choose because there are so many choices and all looked inviting. Everything we ordered was delish. A friendly and warm atmosphere. It's worth a drive to New Castle to experience this awesome breakfast and sandwich bar.

This is such a groovy store. Coffe is amazing and local. Breakfast is always fresh. Melissa is amazing and always accommodating. Plus they have local made item SW from clothes to crayons. A must go!

Walked in for the first time. We just stood there waiting on directions whether to sit down or order at the desk. One staff member just walked by us while she filled the coffee pot. After approx 5 min, we were handed a menu. Again, not being told how to order, we sat down. After another 5 min of not being waited on, we got up and walked out. At the time we waited 10 min to be waited on there were 5 people eating and 3 staff members. I can not say I was ever egnored walking into a restaurant which was definitely not busy!!

Wow... that is all I can say after my 53 years on this earth I've never been somewhere that I wanted to leave so quickly. I cannot even express to you how rude the staff was. I went in my food was cold -so I asked to get a new biscuit and they threw it in the trash and said I would have to buy a new one. LIKE PAY MONEY FOR A NEW ONE . I was appalled 😱I will never be going back...
