In this area for some Realtor related business and needed some materials for the project I was working on! Jackson was extremely helpful. We were even able to go back the next day and get some more materials. We ran out so i called back and he had a truck coming in and so he was able tonreserve some materials for Jimmy and I . Because of the time sensitive nature of what we were doing I really appreciated the fact that when he said the truck would be there it was. He knew his stuff! 👋 We will be back in the area again soon and if we need something I will be sure to stop here.Project completion was a success!

We took our waterstained breakfast nook table down to Jackson, the new owner of Wintergreen Hardware & Garden Center, and I am so glad we did. He restored our table and chairs, and they look beautiful! Thank you, Jackson. So happy we have the Hardware store here in our community. It is fully stocked for all of our quick needs, saving us a drive to Lowes or Home Depot.

If you haven’t been to the “new” hardware store in the Rockfish valley, you won’t believe what the new owners have accomplished. This is now a GREAT hardware store and so far I’m shocked they have stocked everything I’ve needed. Plus they are continuing to improve. The addition of Stihl power tools is fills a huge gap. And the development of their woodwork business is impressive. I’ve ordered a table from Jackson to be built with a beautiful wood chosen from the inventory he has on hand. This is an important addition to our community, being done in a first class manner by great people.

This place has recently changed ownership. The new staff and manager hold an extremely better demeanor than the old owner who seemed to drive his customers away with his attitude. Stock is now good, and friendliness with customer satisfaction is top priority for the new people. Definitely a change for the better! Use Wintergreen Hardware for local needs, leave with no regrets!

The new owners have turned this place around. The place is well-stocked for the first time in years and the owners are super friendly and helpful. They also have a section that is dedicated to local artists products you can purchase. Love seeing that! There’s also an adorable shop doodle that hangs out there and might let you pet him.🙂

Prices are comparable to ACE in Waynesboro. The store is clean and organized in comparison to the previous establishment. The staff/owner are super friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a great addition to the area and I hope we can see more positive growth in Nelson County.

I hadn't been in here for years and stopped by while in town when my Dad said it was worth a new look. What an excellent community hardware store/garden center and wood working shop/showroom Jackson has going. Friendly, great selection and prices on Milwaukee and other tools.

This store, the improvements and ownership are amazing. A valuable resource for our community. I’ve gone in this establishment with needs I thought for sure would send me to waynesboro but was pleasantly surprised to find what I need. If your time is worth something to you this is a fantastic resource. If what your looking for is not there they will be happy to order it for you. I could go on and on. Stop by. Support your community. Get the things you need, meet great people and pat a fuzzy dog on the head!

Since the new owners have taken over the hardware store they are doing a fantastic job making it into a wonderful resource for the community. Owners and staff bend over backwards to help and are organizing the store and stock.I appreciate the store's convenience to the local Wintergreen population. I don't mind paying a little more but it sure beats driving to Charlottesville or Waynesboro and the poor service of the big box stores. The prices on hardware are very competitive.The garden center looks like it is coming along fine also.Can't understand the one reviewer who said the staff was rude. That has not been my experience and I'm at the store once or twice a week.

After many years of spending thousands of dollars a month at this establishment, it's unfortunate to have to say that this business has priced itself out of the market. It's become more cost-effective to drive 60 miles to Waynesboro and back to purchase materials; not only from the contractor's standpoint, but for a contractor's customer as well. The mark-up on materials is greater than an hour's basic labor rate.Though the interior and signage upgrades make the area look cleaner, there's no justification to spend a dime here if you can help it. This type of gouging will make a business fall flat quickly... I hope the new owners realize this before they lose it all.

Talk about a change, new owners have totally re made and stocked the hardware store to include just about everything you will need. Plus the hardware dog Herbert is always happy to greet everyone.

Jackson has breathed new life into this now excellent hardware store! It’s well organized and well stocked! Thank goodness 90% of what I need is now here in Nellysford and I can be spared the hour drive (30 min each way) to Waynesboro’s Lowes & Home Depot. Yes, some things more expensive than those places, but I will gladly support Jackson’s excellent efforts to give us a great local hardware store AND that extra price is well worth it to spare me an hour of driving. You can also call the store and get a real answer as opposed to the big box stores. This is what a local hardware store should be!! Great job to Jackson & co, keep up the great work and for anyone who hasn’t been in yet to see this brand new Wintergreen Hardware, what are you waiting for?!?

They are finally turning this place back into a store you want and can go to when you need something. The new owners are doing great at having the shelves stocked with whatever you may need. I am so glad I dont need to drive by it anymore to go to a big box and can support local and actually have success at shopping

Owner called the cops on me for legally target shooting on private property a mile from the store after we told him we were going to, and he said he had no problem. He also seemed very rude when I talked to him. Overall, a horrible experience. Will never shop here again.
