Only go here if your are desperate and not in a hurry. Theres merchandise sitting everywhere, so much that you cannot walk down aisles or find what you are looking for. I always stop going for a couple months, send my complaints, give it another try and instantly regret it. How is this place not shut down by the fire marshal or OSHA yet??

Very sad to say, went into location at 9:30 a.m. could not find anyone to help me find an item. As I was leaving with nothing I find three employees over by the dumpsters smoking. Yes I know they're allowed a smoke break, but all at the same time. Very sad

This 'was' great but the past year its went downhill. The employees are lazy, store is a mess, trash outside everywhere in parking lot, things not being stocked- just sitting around everywhere... Today I seen some eggs on the floor that looked like they've been there a few days, nasty.

Never open when they are supposed to be. Isles always crowded. Always out of normal stock. New manager a few months ago was going to get it clean organized and make it better but it’s no better and now hardly ever open

This store was crowded with boxes in the aisles. The cashier did not greet me when I went through her line, I was disappointed with the appearance of the store, and to be honest with the staff.

Thought store was supposed to be improved, but same problem empty shelves with stock on the floor. When checking out cashier was on cellphone when cashing me out.

Always great to stop in here! Good selection and decent prices. The employees are super helpful and courteous. I only wish that the Corporate office would budget in more help. The cashiers are always running around like chickens with their heads chopped off, trying to multi task as the cashiers, stockers as well as janitors. It’s a lot of work but they get it done!

I stopped by this store on 5/13/22. When I approached the store and walked in with my arms full, there was a gentleman in plain clothes who walked pass me. I went in ,sat the items down and proceeded to get everything I needed with the help of one associate who sent me to aisle 6 to get dog treats. Approaching aisle 6 I hear other associates conversation which was very inappropriate for the work place (cursing and racist jokes). I got what I needed and carried everything to the register and put it at the register with the light on. Waited patiently to be checked out. Glanced up and saw the same plain clothes person standing at the other register. I asked could he check me out and the young man said yes but up here. I explained I had alot of items at the other register and he paid me no mind. The man behind me said can I help you carry the items? I told him thanks but I think I got it. After ringing me up, and I spend 80$ the boy didn't even give me a chance to move my merchandise before he was ringing up another person behind me. Never will I ever visit this store again.

This was my first visit to this particular location. It's located in a rural area and carries a wide variety of merchandise to service the locals. The store was very busy, with 7 people in line in front of me when I was ready to check out. The cashier was courteous. The store was reasonably clean for the time of day and number of patrons. I found the three items I needed without any problem. I'll be happy to shop here again.

Great store I have found that i wait a long time at the register and when I go find someone to ring me up they usually say hold on I'll be there in a second and keep stocking shelves, in my opinion they should definitely worry about ringing up the customer, I have things to do not to sit and wait on someone to finally come to the register. Another issue is I have 2 cashiers that have problems with there register instead of going to find the manager they literally scream the managers name in your face it's ridiculous and lazy.

Went in here to pick up some cards and some gift bags and they had a huge selection to choose from.I don't know why I've been paying over $5 for Hallmark cards when I could just come here!Whenever I'm in the shopping center I always make it a point to stop in here and just browse the aisles cuz you can get anything from crafts to food.It's a great location and easy to get in and out of.

Store is disorganized, employees never at their station, stock never on the shelves but in boxes in the aisle. Wost shopping experience ever at dollar general, poorly ran. And poor management. Everytime I've ever been in the store.

I try to avoid coming here now at all costs even if its even 5 minutes away from my house The managers are constantly complaining about their jobs And Everytime I go in there I can't find what I need. I'd rather drive to Bonsack Walmart than deal with the negativity. I used to love coming here but now I just rather go somewhere else

I don't understand why this place is never open I swear it's ridiculous. Stopped tonight just to get my kid some diapers not even 8pm yet on a Saturday guess what shocker they was closed I swear it's closed more then it's open!!!

I like this $ General because its conveniently located in Montvale for if you just need to run and grab a few things and don't want to have to run all the way to Bedford or Bonsack Walmart just for a couple of items. They have a good selection of products as well. Pretty much anything that u could possibly need on a regular day, they have at a reasonable price. I also love their " Dot Deals", where a certain color dot is half off or BOGO, especially on the toys during X~Mas time. I like to buy my son items other places than just Wal-Mart so he has a variety of toys and not just the same old stuff over and over that Walmart has. Don't get me wrong, I like Walmarts toys as well, but once u have bought everything that is in your child's age range, gender and interests, they don't really get new stuff in, where as $ General does, and especially during X~Mas time.

Well I don't have a picture but I can tell you the Dollar General in Montvale Virginia is excellent! It's always clean. It's always easy to find exactly what you want. The clerks are always polite and friendly and offer to help you find what it is you need. The prices are excellent. I love shopping at Dollar General in Montvale Virginia it is one of the better Dollar Generals I have ever been in. Those employees work hard to make sure you have a good shopping experience there and they should be rewarded in some way. I would rather shop Dollar General then Walmart. Walmart may have more merchandise the shopping experience is different simply because the store is clean and you can maneuver about easily and as I said I have never met friendlier employees then the ones there. I will definitely be a regular at that store.

If its more than one other person in the store the employees can not handle it. Good selection of stuff for a dollar store but I would drive out of my way to avoid having to go in and deal with the people that work there

Love the location and store great choice and supplies but much need of help to get store cleaned up stock put up so customer can get around. Please management get get help there for i love this location close to home. Thanks ypur staff needs help.

The register operator was very loud as she said " I was going to finish that but now I have to do this"...meaning now she had to take money from a customer even though it was extremely inconvenient for her and obviously it was an aggravation. She should remember who she is working for....

WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! EXTREMELY clean and SHOPABLE, unlike many other dg I've been in!!!!!!!!!!! The atmosphere is calm, friendly and most of all CURTEIS and last but, certainly NOT LEAST, the most HELPFUL staff I've EVER come across in ANY OTHER DG store!!!!!!! Keep up the GREAT work, Montvale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went in to get a few things and the one employee named Dustin was making racist comments and being very rude I'll never be going back to this location until he is gone no family should have to hear the racist rude remarks he made

So the cashier shorts my change when giving it to me I don't realise till after I walk out the store I go back and tell them and the "assistant manager" decides to cap me a liar in front of about 4 other customers while raising her voice at me. I guess that's the management they want... very unprofessional!!!

Dollar General opened neat my house it is my go to place now I can get most every thing i need close to home. Thanks to Dallas General I no longer have to drive 10 miles to grab something that I need right away.

Wonderful staff. The store is always a mess. You can bearly make it through a aisle.
