Great Italian sub (inexpensive). Needed a quick lunch on the road. The nearby restaurants cost more than I wanted for the situation (no nearby fast food restaurants).

Shop here all the time as it is the only grocery store in Montross VA but I do not recommend ever purchasing the gallon bucket of food lion brand chocolate ice cream. Obviously it has thawed and refrozen. I've been duped twice but not again. Come on Wal Mart can't you build a store in Montross VA???

Shop here weekly. Prices are average. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Just last week I had a thirty minute conversation by the milk with a manager, no specific agenda, just friendly workers. I do wish they would carry a better variety of things. For some items I have to drive 40+ miles to a competitor to get the things I use weekly. Also, I’ve had to come in a few times, a few days in a row checking stock on items I need. Other than not always having in stock the items I use, this store is very good.

Drive-up pick-up online orders is an excellent service. Online shopper staff are very good. Unfortunately the store is never stocked well. Usually the deli doesn't have salads made by 10am. Often there are no satisfactory substitutes available to replace out of stock groceries.

Staff is helpful and nice. Some baking & cooking is done on premises. Always plenty of parking. Just wish it was a larger store as there are so few grocery stores in the area.

New to the area and impressed with the food lion. The store has been in good clean condition each time I've gone. It's very large with good selection. I have only not been able to find one thing so far. I would give 5 stars, but the customer service is subpar and the employees all stand around talking to each other instead of helping customers. They'd rather socialize with each other than the customer. I suspect that there isn't really good training though, so I am much more apt to blame management than employees.

Food lion in warsaw Virginia is so clean right know the shelves are low everywhere. But their products are of good quality and they serve beer that's a plus for me. One stop shop

Had a manager that was a cashier had a bad mood when we got in her lane, and gave us a hard time and through change at me then said I through it first! How? When she had the change first. I have had a stroke and will never go in that Food lion again! Maybe none of them if they let their workers treat their customers like that

This place should get -5 stars. Worst grocery store I've ever seen. Dirty, poor quality old produce and meat. Management should be replaced with people who know how to operate. They told my mother they stopped caring a particular product because it's to high in sodium.

Store is clean, but employees at this food store are always rude. I've only been here 4-5 times and EVERY time the chashiers are chatting with each other about personal stuff and all but ignoring the customers during the transactions. They also never have more than one or two people up front and will leave lights on at a checkout lane but simply walk away from their station, leaving customers unsure of which lanes are actually open. They also frequently have empty places on shelves and in the bakery, meat, and produce isles. I rarely buy processed foods so I can't say much about the other isles.

730 am on Friday morning. 1 register open 4 people in line. Employees everywhere but no cashiers I guess. It just irritated me when there is no express lane open. There was a sale that didn't start until 8 am. Sale should start when store opens. Cashier thought it was funny when I said..."I guess the early bird doesn't get the worm." Won't make the mistake of shopping early in the morning again.

Donnie and Rae are some of the worst and entitled managers I've ever seen in my life. They yell at theIr co-workers, vendors, the customers and scream, whine, and moan about how terrible their life is. Rae is probably the absolute worst.

Only grocery store in my area of the nnk besides Walmart and Callao Supermarket. I dont usually like to go to walmart due to the crowds and I just prefer food lion since they are closer and way less expensive than Callao Supermarket.The stores are clean and the employees are nice and helpful.

It is the only grocery store in Montross and it still doesn't deserve a #1 rating. They overcharge you every time. I always check my receipt before I leave and I have found a mistake 90% of the time. Their merchandise is often spoiled or rotten and you don't find out until you get home and open the package. I've bought moldy bread, moldy cheese, spoiled ground beef on the bottom of a package they put fresh meat on top of. These were within minutes of buying. I bought them, went home (5 minute drive) and opened them to find spoiled bread, meat or cheese. I usually drive 1 hour to Fredericksburg or 30 minutes to Dahlgren or Tappahannock to buy my groceries. I only buy items at Food Lion when I am desperate and willing to roll the dice that my milk or eggs won't be bad. Their clearance prices never come up for the right price. I always have to take the item and my receipt to customer service which never gets to me right away. So I always plan on spending another 30 minutes at customer service in addition to my shopping time. The employees never smile. I guess it's better than having nothing, but not by much.
