For the most part employees at the CoOp are pleasant and helpful, but there are exceptions. I was busy so I sent my wife to pick up some joist hangers. I gave her very specific information including measurements. One clerk at the story decided he knew what we needed better than I did and was extremely rude to my wife. Needless to say I will not be going back to Rockingham CoOp for anything in the future.

They are an important agricultural and community asset to Highland County. Their knowledgable staff provide a great deal of help in finding what you need quickly so you can proceed with your shopping and check out quickly.

I recently relocated from NJ to Bath County with my family. Rockingham Co-Op is a perfectly example of why we moved here. The associates are very friendly and knowledgeable. The store offers just about anything you would need and more. A+ to the staff for making it such a pleasurable experience to shop there!

As long as you understand that a small-town hardware and ag supply store won't have all the stuff on the shelf you'd expect to find at Lowe's or Home Depot, you'll likely find this place an amazing asset. They may not have the ridiculous selection of the big-box hardware stores, but they typically have at least one or two of any essential you seek. Of course there's an agricultural focus, given the nature of the work that occurs in Highland County, but they've got your regular home hardware - electrical supplies, plumbing, protective gear, power tools, paint, even ammo.It's my go-to, and I've almost never needed to go to Staunton or Harrisonburg to find what I need. Once in a blue moon, on a regular trip (not a special trip) I'll grab something from a larger outfit or order online, but if there's something the co-op doesn't have in stock, there's a decent chance they can get it for you and save you the trip.

It's small inturn they don't always have more than a couple of each item so if you've got a larger project call in advance so they can order what you need.
