Located in the Westchester shopping center between Target and the movie theater. I buy my dog food and treats here. They offer a membership free that earns points towards each bag of food purchased, each dollar spent, and grooming appointments. It’s worth it, especially when you have 2 large dogs to feed and keep groomed! The staff is usually friendly and helpful, store is easy to navigate with plenty of signs. They also offer dog training! Nice area and convenient to 288, get your dog groomed pick up lunch or see a movie!

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves - the place is absolutely trashed. Every aisle is piled high with merchandise; some shrink-wrapped but mostly just giant piles waiting to topple. Not safe for kids or pets. I’ve never seen a messier open retail store.

I took my dog to Westchester 3 times and the are no good they don't take time out and get it all done at once he does not like it when you put him in cage all I seen all they want to do is hang around the front and talk they act like they don't have to much interest in there job some dogs just take a little more time I will never go back to Westchester again the one on Rittenhouse does a good job they know what they are doing y'all need to get people in there that really shows interest in there job I had to pay for nothing on 1/13 2024

Booked grooming online- I was excited for the last minute availability during the holiday season (booked 1 day out)! Drove over an hour to get there only to have the groomer turn me away. I was up front in letting them know during booking that my dog was matted and an outdoor dog, but rather than call me to let me know they couldn't wash/trim, she waited until I showed up and made me sit through an exam for 'temperament ' of the dog etc. before citing the mats as the reason she couldn't fulfill my service. I would have tipped and paid extra for the service, but instead I went to tractor supply and bought a set of clippers. Lost me as a customer for sure!

This store has been on the decline for the last few months. Companion animals such as fish, reptiles, and hamsters have been consistently low in quality and quantity. The little staff that is there unknowledgeable about stores products as well. This was my regular store about a year ago, but now it ceases to disappoint when visiting. Would recommend another petco aside from this one if at all possible.

The store is very clean and the staff is courteous but it takes awhile to find someone to assist. Just like everywhere now days the prices of products has dramatically risen.I recently returned to Petco in Westchester Commons and my last two visits were nothing like all the others. I buy fush aquarium supplies there and recently purchased two orange orandas, along with several other items. The cashier rang me up but did not bag my items. When I asked for a bag he looked at me quizzically and said 'for that'?Three days layer one of the fish died and when I returned to the store the same inept cashier was the only one working. He clearly was out of his element in the fish department and tried to give me a small fan tail.goldfish instead of an oranda, he didn't even secure the bag to prevent the water from spilling out.I am really disappointed and will take my business to Richmond Aquariums from now on.

By far this was the unfriendliest, unwelcoming visit to a pet store. Upon entering nobody greeted me or my dog, the lights were nearly off and it was quite difficult to see all of the products. The shelves and treat station were a mess, the treat bar wasn’t even available which was part of the reason I came in. The cashier was very visibly not wanting to be there, and it felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. For a pet store I would expect and hope for someone to say hello to my dog but nobody did. Having worked and groomed for petco before I know they usually pride themselves on being cheerful and welcoming, but after the experience just now I don’t plan on returning and will drive out my way to support another facility. If I could give zero stars I would.

Molly helped us pick out some fish, she was super knowledgeable when it came to compatibility with our current fish and recommended great options to test cheap fish for compatibility before purchasing more expensive ones.

Came early for an order I called in, on the chance it would be ready soon. They found my order (1 small item), went and grabbed it and I was on my way. Very helpful and friendly gals working on Sunday about 1pm or so. Sorry I didn't get their names.

I waited at the register for 10 minutes waiting for an employee to come check me out. No employee was anywhere around. I blinked the lights on the register. I called out for someone. Nothing. I finally left and left my items sitting on the counter at the register. This is unacceptable. I could have just walked out with the items.

I have a six month old standard poodle I brought to the Petco at West Chester Commons. I ordered the full service dog bath and groom. I asked for an overall trim and shaved face and feet. I also got the pick 3 package upgrade (nail buffing, teeth cleaning, and paw balm), and everything was about $80. My puppy looked so cute coming out today. She was so soft and her cut was done very well. I was impressed with what they could do with such a rambunctious puppy who has a tendency to dislike grooming. She looks like an elegant young lady.

I came in looking for some seachem products and maybe a new plant, which were here, but I always look at the bettas and other fish as I like to see all of the cute fish. However, multiple bettas were dead and more had problems swimming. I saw multiple fish in the large tanks with some degree of swim bladder disease and there was a brown algae growing in most of the tanks. The fish were treated so horribly that I couldn’t bring myself to purchase anything as I don’t want to support this store. Attached are a couple of pictures of some dead bettas as proof. One had been left for so long that it had algae growing on it and in its water.

This Petco grooming location on the perimeter drive Midlothian VA Near Powhatan is the worst Petco gromming. Don't take your pet there. No store manager to resolve customer service issues. Upcharged fee without notifying you. Rude and immature employees. Sneaky and dishonest groomers. None of them know how to handle unsatisfied customer conflict professionally. No wonder why they have many spots available for the grooming service smh that should have been first red flag!

This store was a a complete disaster! It was difficult to find what I was looking for because many of the shelves were empty or piles of items haphazardly laying at the bottom of the shelves. There were boxes blocking aisles. It looked like a tornado had hit the store.

I placed an online order and got confirmation that it was ready for pick up. Upon arrival there was a paper sign on the door saying they didn’t open until 10 even though the online order said that it was ready for pick up. A worker came to the door, told me they didn’t open till 10 even though my order was ready and already paid for and they could’ve just grabbed it and handed it to me. They told me that I could come back in an hour and pick up my order and then walked away. All they had to do was grab my order off the shelf and I would’ve been done. This is one of many experiences I’ve had with his Petco that will make it, so I never Returned.

Grooming department here takes no direction and will do whatever they want to your dog. The groomer cut areas I specifically said not to touch and they even cut her eyelashes off. I would consider my dogs haircut a hate crime and although the management was great it can’t take back the damage that’s been done.

My son & I have spent a lot of time and $ in this location and based on the numerous other locations I have been in, this store is the BEST by FAR!!!! The managers there are ALL SUPER and have been helpful, fair & gone above & beyond to make us feel welcome and our business appreciated!! Cary, Kaitlyn and Jimmy have all been helpful and polite, they are each awesome employees and I can only hope that their Supervisors realize what a FINE Job that these 3are doing! I've observed them each in several capacities and they are each outstanding all around! From taking care of the pets you carry, to the way they treat fellow employees with dignity & professionalism to the way the store is well stocked, clean & the animals are properly taken care of. As we are frequent customers, I've had opportunity to deal with each one individually with some type of a problem and always been treated with courtesy & respect and a willingness to go out of their way to assist the customer and to rectify a problem. Cary is amazing and we are looking forward to her return! She is an OUTSTANDING example of management and I Sincerely hope she is VALUED AS IRREPLACEABLE!! Kaitlyn is enthusiastic,energetic and a true Hard Worker & Team Player and Jimmy always makes time to assist customers.with a friendly smile & kind manner & is Overall a Pleasure to deal with! We have been in numerous Petco locations & talked with many employees, dealt with managers & this store Exceeds Expectations in ALL DEPARTMENTS !! You have a winning Crew at THIS Location!! You should march All management into THAT STORE for Training in Customer Relations, Store Cleanliness & Proper Care of the Pets in your keep.
