I just moved back to Virginia after retiring and the glowing recommendations for Midlothian Animal Clinic led me there! I have a new smooth coat golden doodle and my two and 1/2 year old lab mix. Staff is very attentive and super friendly. Check-in was a breeze and front desk were fast and efficient! Both my pups have a new”vet” home and most of the support are pet-sitters!!

Great animal clinic. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The vets are great and seem to really care about your animals, instead of just trying to make money. The assistants are also very nice and professional. My dog is my family, so I wouldn't take her there if I had one bad thing to say. Highly recommended.

Absolutely horrible place! We scheduled an appointment for today for a very sick cat. When we arrived for the appointment the front desk girl LIED and said appointment was for tomorrow. She was rude and incompetent. Manager refused to give us our other pets records. All vets refused to see the sick cat or even acknowledge the useless idiot at the front desk made a horrible mistake. What kind of vets work here that would allow that?? Please don't take your animals here. They had zero remorse or empathy for the huge mistake they made. My cats life is on all of you there YOU if something happens to him!!! 🤬

I just took in a beautiful male stray Cat who is approx. 4 y/o. It has been many yrs since owning a Cat. To ensure he was healthy, I took him in for an exam, immunization & to schedule his being neutered.The Vet was wonderful and detail oriented in providing information and answering my questions. The front desk staff were customer service oriented and friendly. Great experience! Highly recommended.

I wasn’t initially appreciative of the $65 charge, non refundable, for a consult. However, once I arrived, they were fully prepared for my visit. My dog was taken in at the exact time of my appointment and fully assessed within 10 minutes. They had my records (transferred from another clinic) and knew right away what was necessary and what was not. The entire visit took 35 minutes (basically a check up) and gave my dog the shots needed at that time as well as recommendations for delaying possible future (expensive) care. They are a well run, knowledgeable veterinary clinic. The $65 was applied to my visit which reduced the bill. Two thumbs up!!!

I drive out of my way to bring my dog to MAC because they’re the only clinic that I trust to care for her. However, during her most recent appointment, I was highly disappointed in the quality of care provided by Dr. Moon. She was far from personable and appeared to be upselling me on unnecessary services and products. My dog can be very nervous and not once did she try to connect with her or offer any treats to make her more comfortable. Overall, I love this practice and would recommend to anyone; however, I would advise they avoid scheduling with Dr. Moon.

I just want to thank the entire team at the clinic. All of you were so kind, accommodating, and made us feel like we were listened to. Our cat got the best care there - even better than our previous vet. And the doctor following up with us the next day made me know I made the right choice in vet.

Can’t say enough good things about this practice! The vets are thorough, caring and I have never felt rushed at any appointment. The front desk and support staff are wonderful, as well!!! This is a AAHA approved facility which means a lot — not all practices have this rating!

Sadly I am writing a less than stellar review. I have been a client here for over 10 years and have always loved the doctors and the staff. Still do, but my last experience will be my last. A doctor that I believe to be new to the practice (I have never seen her) looked at my dog twice for the same issue. The second time, her recommendations were the most invasive, traumatic and expensive options. I asked about lesser treatments IE no needles or expensive meds and treatments (not her idea, mine) and she agreed, albeit reluctantly. I wanted to try everything else before going to the extreme lengths that she was suggesting. I didn't want my dog to suffer three months of painful treatments until we tried everything else. Keep in mind we still had no idea WHAT the problem was at this point. I felt like I was being "SOLD" medical services that my dog didn't need and more importantly would have suffered pain and fear. I am also sure it would have cost alot more money. After some over the counter meds (my suggestion) and the antibiotics that the doctor provided ( I also asked for) my dog is on the mend. Just beware and be an advocate for your dog. Doctors are businesses, they make money selling treatments and services.

We absolutely love Midlothian Animal Clinic! From the receptionists to the techs and doctors we are so grateful for them! They all care so deeply about our corgi boy Milo. We recently moved from Midlothian to the west end and didn’t even think about moving him to a closer vet. Our dog actually gets excited when he walks through the doors! I couldn’t recommend MAC more!

We had an absolutely awful end of life pet experience with this clinic. Our dog was diagnosed with diabetes, we got shockingly little information on care and our dog stopped eating. emails and phone calls about what to do were either not answered at all or days later while the dog suffered, ended up calling sycamore vet down the street because he was in such distress after one last attempt to call and see his primary vet at MAC, the answer I got from MACs front desk was they could not work him in till 6pm, without even asking what shape he was in and after $400 of visits the last two weeks with no follow up from his primary vet other than the initial call to tell us he was diabetic. A tech gave us the insulin and so little instruction. I was immediately attended too by sycamore even though they were booked solid they understood and helped us with end of life care within an hour so our dog didn't have to suffer any longer. We were customers of MAC with two dogs spanning almost 20 years, however we got zero attention, I am not even sure the vets were even getting my messages because when they did call they called the wrong number I indicated them to call me at. If you are in Midlothian, go to sycamore the experience will be night and day.

I had an appointment the other day with Dr. Becky. As soon as I arrived, she got called away on an emergency. The staff did an amazing job, as they had patients who had arrived and were arriving to see Dr. Becky with their furry friends. I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Rhoades. My discussion that day had to do with kidney disease and end of life treatment for my aging beagle. I thought to myself...should I have rescheduled for another time...I don't want to feel rushed. I decided I would stay and see Dr. Rhoades. She was amazing. She came in the room, not feeling rushed at all, and sat right down and discussed everything with me...and my wife who was on the phone. She took her time, fully explained several things, and asked several times if we had additional questions. I never felt rushed for one minute. That shows outstanding care and compassion! All of the staff are friendly and customer service is wonderful! Thank you Midlothian Animal Clinic!

All three of my dogs were boarded for a week. They went above and beyond to meet my dogs special needs. It was nice to hand my dogs over to someone who really does love dogs.I also received Texts to let me know how they were doing !!! Thank you to Joey and All the staff

Just love all the Drs & staff here! They take great care of all my fur babies ❤️ I can't mention most by name, but Kelly and Katie at the front are always so cheerful and helpful! I love that Kelly is just like a good friend, not just an employee. Your awesome new hire Lorna V. The docs are the best! They care about each pet they treat!! Dr. Berger/Dr W & care for my Taz & Me after his accident! Dr Becky/ Dr W with Carter, Skittles, Addie. Dr Rose & Dr Irving always getting me what is needed & Fitting us in on drop off!! Our sweet pup became sick the day after Thanksgiving and Dr. Becky has been amazing caring for him and for us!! The urgent care vet did not think he would make it through the night , but he did. I spoke with Dr. Becky the very next day and she started him on medication and put us on a course of action. Happy to report that our pup will be celebrating Christmas with us and we couldn’t be more grateful!!The front desk staff and the vet techs are welcoming and friendly. They know our pup by name. We have been going to MAC for 8 years.While MAC is not the least expensive vet practice in the area, this experience has shown us that they are worth it.

Our fur baby always gets great care and attention at Midlothian Animal Clinic. We suspected a UTI, dropped off a urine sample and within two hours got a phone call with the results and a prescription filled. The staff is always friendly and the doctors are very thorough.

All of the vets we’ve experienced here have been kind and compassionate. We have also had the need for same day visits (our dog ate corncobs and we had to confirm no blockages 😅). They got us in and even had a tech call us a couple days after to check on our dog!

We were looking for a vet since moving to Richmond and wanted to make sure they would be a good fit for our pets. They aren’t the closest beer to us but definitely worth the drive. The doctors and staff at this vet are just amazing. We have 3 pets, and we are so lucky to have this team looking after them. We are treated like family, and we always leave appointments with a solution for our little family members. We are never picky about which vet we see because all of them are great. They make sure our babies love coming to the vet, which makes the experience much better for us as well. If you aren’t sure which vet office to choose in Midlothian, chose the MAC. You won’t be disappointed.
