Very good local fish store with a nice selection of healthy fish and friendly staff. I have a dozen green neon tetras from Skoolz and only lost one very small runt early on. My trio of Ottos are also doing great. Everyone is fat n' sassy. 👍🏾 They also have a reptile and amphibian collection housed in very nice enclosures.

This store exceeded my expectations! We were sent here by employees of other pet stores. More than a few recommended going here. Especially for the Axolotl. The water filtration system is truly inspiring and genius. They keep the tanks super clean and healthy. They have plenty of products, many exotic fishes, reptiles and amphibians. They also have friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Thank you for your hospitality during our visit to your business!

Walking in you are met with some fantastic large tanks, very impressive collection and 95% of the fish are happy although some of the tanks were totally dire. Literally depraved..(Such as the strobe lighting, heavy pump and bad water in the Betta rack)I've added some photos/ videos so you can see the spectrum of care.The reptiles section is really awesome and it was incredibly noticable throughout the shop there was almost no odour which is hard to upkeep with such an extensive collection 95% seriously impressive shop.They have a limited stock of tank supplies but the employee in store had a great knowledge and pointed us in the right direction.Mostly an impeccable store.Just please turn those flashing lights off.

Had a great time here today with my family. The customer service was great. They were busy and they still took the time to answer the questions that my family and I had. They had a great selection of fish and was kind enough to let my kids play with their snake 🐍. Definitely recommend that you make time to visit them they are awesome 👌.

Rama is a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to fish care. I love this shop, and can always find cool fish that I don't see in other places in stock here. They even take trips down to Florida periodically to hand pick orders to make sure you have the chance to buy the best possible quality fish. Highly, highly recommended.

Owner Rama really knows his fish! All the fish are top quality and well cared for. Much better than your typical pet store. Great place to get healthy fish and many species you don't typically find.

This place has a clever spelling of the word schools. The artwork on the side of the building is actually pretty cool, however, that is where my compliments end. Wanting to give a budding business a shot, I took an hour-long journey to arrive at this place. Some reviews state a great variety a fish can be found at this place. However, I wouldn't know because I could not get in. Situated in a very rough section of Richmond, their posted business hours (see photos) are not accurate. The place has broken windows with plywood hastily covering them from the inside. After pushing the buzzer and knocking on the door, despite hearing people talking, no one answered. The number associated with the business also went unanswered. I am all about supporting businesses that are start-up and small in nature, but these guys need to help themselves. It seems like they are more interested in starting a rock band then selling fish! (watch the video and listen) maybe when they get their act together I would recommend shopping here, but avoid this place at all costs until then.

I have nothing but great experiences in this store they are super friendly helpful and will order any fish for you as long as they can find it great selection of fish salt, African, and fresh water. Plants reptiles snake pretty much anything legal and fish related can be found here just make sure you have room for fishes because you go there thinking you want one thing and find a lot more then you expected I definitely recommend to all fish lover and aquarium enthusiast

Killer passion project atmosphere. It feels as far from professionally planned out as possible. Just a group of people who truly excel at keeping and loving fish.Definitely culture shock if you are used to prim and proper stores like the big chains. But these guys have fish like no other.Gotta check em out if you have big tanks or want a truly impressive show tank.

Honestly not much in the store, constantly seems cluttered and unorganized, a lot of the fish I looked at look colorless, or just not a thing in stock. The interior could be cleaned up, orangized and situated in a better way. A lot of empty to lite tanks with minimal product.

Best Store in the Area!!!! I have been shopping here for the last year and was amaze at the quantity and quality of fish and reptiles. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable I been working with one of the workers name Peyton who is very hands on and knowledgeable. He even help me get over my fear of snakes! The store is wonderful all the way around. Make sure you visit I promise you won’t regret!

This IS THE PLACE TO GET YOUR FISH!!!! Most of the fish you find at this store are not your basic boring gold fish you will find and Department stores. When people see my tank they step back and say wow ware do find such cool looking fish!!

Fish are not kept in an ideal environment especially the reptiles. It's kinds of sad to see the reptiles there because they are not doing well. Average pricing for everything

Started up the hobby about a year ago and this is Definitely my go-to location. Staff is often busy helping other customers, giving me plenty of time to check out the frequently changing menagerie (theres a few giants thatve stayed around to wave hello to). Recommend to follow their Facebook page they update almost to the hour of new arrivals and post frequently. In my experience here, They’ve been upfront about what they know and (more importantly) what they don’t know - ya gotta do research, too- because that big petstore chain nearby gave me some absolute trash advice/info without hesitation. Slightly higher Price than the aforementioned store but it is absolutely worth the healthy animals plus, sometimes encountering a surprising amount of personality. picture is of a little angel they had one day - couldn’t snatch’em up quite yet but I got a kick out of how he/she kept watching me and trying to get my attention.

I visited from the Hampton Roads area and was excited to support a black owned business. I was looking for a hognose female and they had quite a few that were HUGE and looked healthy. They all were an expensive green lemon morph that I had never seen and were very expensive. I would have liked to see more entry level morphs. I was looking to pay almost $500 for one, but none were in my price range. It seemed the ones for sale were old breeders but they all were gorgeous. The employee was very helpful and also busy answering calls on the phone and we chatted about fish and tanks.When I was looking around I noticed a dead, emaciated bearded dragon in the back room. His food bowl was dried up, no water in his cage. He looked like he had been dead for multiple days. I realize this happens, but the fact he was not removed seems like the cages were not checked on or fed in the mornings. When I worked for a pet store that's the first thing we did and removed any casualties.I did end up getting a fish that is lively and healthy. And asked about a pacman frog and live black worms they were out of both.

Bought an axolotl here several months ago. Owner and staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. Have had problems that I needed help with along the way (like when my cat somehow fished the axolotl out of the tank but didn’t kill it and I had no idea how to help the poor axolotl) and they’re always more than willing to help and answer my questions when I call. Highly recommend this place!

Good fish selection, but the tanks are kinda dirty. One huge tank was so opaque green that the fish inside appeared out of the Moro like ghosts. I hope this is temporary.

The guy there took my peppermint shrimp that I could no longer keep. Which I was very grateful for. He tested my water for me and let me know where my tank levels were. They had lots of fish and reptiles. Very Kool store.
